Such a cute, welcoming little place! Everyone is so friendly, the food is delicious, they make a REALLY great milkshake, and the environment is so nice. Our only complaint is that they aren’t open more often, we’d be there all the time!

Such a great place to eat. The brisket was so tender and mouthwatering! I definitely recommend the homemade fries. Good people work there, very friendly. Made us feel like family. It was worth the stop on our way through Michigan.

Such a cute, classic little place. Food and service were both amazing. Tried the highland special meat pie and I would definitely recommend.

This is a great stop to have lunch in Alma. Prices are very reasonable. For two people with one drink was less than $30 before tip. Service was great. I have some dietary restrictions and the owner came out and talked to me about the different dishes. I highly recommend their brisket with their homemadee bbq sauces. The only thing they can improve on is their water. It didn't taste as good, which means their coffee didn't taste good. Overall a great stop.

A charming throwback to the good old days of cafe/diner. Modern twists on timeless classics...burgers, wraps, sandwiches, awesome fries and coffee. Milkshakes made in a metal cup and served the remainder with the shake. Just like old days. Friendly wait staff. Decent price point. Immaculate restrooms. Lovely experience.

Awesome cafe. The food was outstanding. Probably one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. The entire joint is very clean and all the staff were quick and friendly. Can't go wrong here.

I don't think the town was prepared for the amount of people getting off the training coming into town, but they handled it well. They brought us drinks while we waited. Got a seated within just a couple minutes. Get her order and if it was cooked perfectly.

First of all, the staff was amazing, the day we were their was almost all men working, not sure if it was family owned, hiring college students, or focused on hiring vets, but it felt intentional and it was a breath of fresh air.

The food was fresh, fast, delicious and flavorful. I ordered the spicy chicken wrap which was fantastic. I reccomend asking for extra chicken as it could have used more,but the homemade Pico was on point and it was great.

The staff even made us pancakes for our kids after the breakfast hours which was a nice bonus.

10/10 reccomend!

Main cafe has the best milkshakes in town, hands down. The service is just as awesome as their food. Make sure you get extra garlic mayo-it’s fantastic.

Let me explain that first off, I practically live at this restaurant. This is the local place that everyone knows your name. Canyon who is one of the owners and head chef is always experimenting. Always take the special! As strange as it sounds his latest creation of a peach burger, was unlike any burger I've had before. Coming from somebody who loves burgers how often can you say that? While sitting there chowing down on this new creation a gentleman walks up and says he's just had the best brisket he's had since leaving Texas. Of course! Especially since it was smoked out back and Canyon spent time honing his craft in Texas! Arguably the best food at this price point in town.

I started with a mug of decadent hot chocolate, complete with whipped cream. I enjoyed a huge omelet, the one with hashbrowns inside, ham, onion, cheese, and sour cream for the top. It was absolutely delicious! I opted for an English muffin instead of toast, and that was also good. I was able to sit for a while after eating and read a book, they didn't rush me at all.

Great food, friendly staff and they went above and beyond to correct MY mistake. We will be returning soon

First timers at this Cafe. The servers were pleasant and attended to us regularly. The food was phenomenal. I never had corn beef that was actually corn beef and not from a can! Thr bacon was sooo great as well as the hash browns! Thank for your service!

A family owned restaurant that brings you back in time, every burger is specially made, every malt engineered to perfection, and the meat is hand smoked and prepared. The sauces are hand mixed, and everything is always fresh. The Main Cafe is, no doubt, my favorite place to dine.

Very cute breakfast and lunch diner! Ita so bright and inviting, excellent staff all very attentive and personable. Wish there were comfy booths or tables in the windows!

EDIT* Back again today - Big bearded dude in the kitchen saved me from making quite possibly the biggest burger in Gratiot County! Large props to him and the entire staff! This place just keeps blowing me away - always friendly, clean, and the food is so darn good!

One of my favorite places in town to eat! I am here 2-3 times a week and love it every time. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, the servers are polite and helpful, and the food is delightful. I had never liked biscuits and gravy before I had it here, now I can't get enough. The breakfasts are all amazing and very generous portions. For the lunches and dinners, they have a fairly broad menu with burgers, sandwiches, salads, and wraps. And of course the soups! They have a chili and French onion always ready to go plus a new soup every week (my personal favorite is the beef stew). Additionally, they are constantly trying out fresh specials so there is a new treat every week; if this week doesn't suit your fancy, there is sure to be an upcoming one that does. The fries are home-cut and delicious, the burgers are amazing (try the mushroom swiss!), and the myriad desserts are delightful. Great for a solo bite or a meal out with friends and family, I highly recommend the Main Cafe to everyone!
