This food is very well made!! We got chicken Alfredo and beef enchiladas and salad and it was delicious!! Right when we walked in there was the owner telling a story and that was cool. My husband and I had a very long day and we loved coming to a cozy, very relaxed, and fun environment place to eat. Very satisfied!

Had the Black Angus Top Sirloin Stake. Not sure how big it was, but it was at least 18 oz. It was juicy, medium rare, and delicious. With the dinner menu you also get the choice of a salad or soup with fresh baked bread. Either choise is great. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed, with older songs playing in the background. The servers are very kind and attentive.

We ordered a biscuits and gravy, extra sausage, and a grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. The b&g came with seasoned fries, which was unexpected but awesome since the extra carbs were needed for two hikers that had just come off the trail. The sausage was actually sausage patties on top of the biscuits, covered in gravy. Different than what we expected but still very good. The chicken sandwich was pretty good too.

Best part about the experience was the waitress. She was awesome! Very funny, talkative and was running the front nearly by herself.

Decor was amazing also-worth it just for that. Original paintings, stained glass by local artists. Everything was unique down to the silverware.

Edit to add: I nearly forgot: they make and sell baked goods also. Totally worth it to get something as you leave. We got a lemon kolachi and a large snickerdoodle cookie that were both delicious!

2nd edit: Stopped in and had French toast the next morning. It was awesome. The morning waitress was also great.

Place was nice, staff was great and food was delicious! I had trout with wild rice, wife had salmon. Both were really good. I think it was the best salmon I ever had. Get there before they are about to close or you won't be seated. We were lucky we got there about 45 minutes before they were supposed to close. Another family arrived 30 minutes to close and they were not seated. I think they make all food fresh and might take some time to get all ready. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you.

Went here for lunch one day and breakfast the next. There is a limited menu right now. The fish sandwiches were a single filet, so it did have a couple of tiny bones. The side of wild rice soup was delicious. The breakfast sandwich was on some hefty toast with a big piece of sausage.

They close for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner, so plan accordingly. It was cash only when we came, but our groupins worked.

Absolutely delicious! Every single time! There are a lot of amazing restaurants on the North Shore for a foodie to sample but the Lemon Wolf is my favorite. Partly because it is always consistently good--same chef-owners for 18 years helps with that--and I have never ordered anything that was not an amazing mouthful. I particularly love their fish dishes. And the desserts....ooh the desserts! Try the lemon cake with mascarpone filling, you won't be sorry.

One of the best eating experiences I had in the four day honeymoon we had at the North Shore.

Had the Herring and baked potato, they offer tartar sauce but the seasoning was so superb the fish practically melts in your mouth.

For dessert we had the Wolf Trail Pie. I've never had a pecan pie so good in my life.

Great atmosphere, great prices, great service. We arrived a little before 5pm when they opened and we were one of six groups waiting. By 6pm all of us had eaten and were paying for our meals.

I will be honored to come back here in the future.

This restaurant had amazing food! Excellent customer service and a very down home feeling. The owner who is the cook has a lot of cooking talent! He takes a lot of pride in his cooking. As well as the service they give. I know this because he took the time to personally come out and ask how our food tasted. He make all of his own homemade desserts, bread and dinner rolls. I had an amazing 12oz steak. And don't forget to try the homemade margarita cake. Five stars hands down! If you look closely you might even notice a bear peering in the window (see photos for evidence)! ; )

I was looking for a brunch/lunch kind of meal to start the day off yesterday and this was one of only a few options in the area. I liked the look of the food and checked it out. It is a very small place, but nice atmosphere and well kept. I got a wolf burger and onion rings. I thought the food was great and the price/value was very good. It filled up fast and I tried to leave quickly so I wouldn't take up a table when others were coming in. I'd go there again, though it sounds like the place is closed for a while to rework some things. Hopefully they figure out whatever they need and the place can open back up in the future.

Amazing breakfast Sammy. Best French toast! Asked for crispy bacon and he nailed it! Even offered to fill our water bottles.

Thick, delicious, handmade burger patties that don't even need sauce. (They're just juicy enough, but not greasy.) Great seasoning on shrimp, walleye, and fries. Good selection of craft beer. Friendly chef--if it's not too busy, ask him about the story of the Lemon Wolf. Just make sure you wait at the front to be seated. Otherwise, the staff might not see you right away and you might wait a while.

If you want a good burger boy howdy this is the place to be. Imagine a magical blend of beef, pork, and bacon ground together and perfected grilled placed on a crispy yet fluffy bun and topped with the freshest darn tomato and lettuce on this side of Duluth. Sounds good so far, but wait there’s more! Now slap on a couple strips of bacon a fried egg and just a splash of Tabasco sauce and you have yourself the Hangover Burger. DYNAMITE!

The sweet roles are also delectable and I may or may not have eaten a whole role before gorging myself into a meat coma with the burger.

This is the only picture you need, and empty plate signaling the intake of enough calories to feed a small village. Amazing.

I don't dish out 5 star ratings often. This place was a gem down to every detail. Beautiful little cafe run by a very friendly chef, who knows how to cook. breakfast was amazing. The atmosphere down to the silverware and glasses just made you feel special. Their prices are unbeatable for such quality. Cheers to the chef!

We visited just before noon on a Sunday when they were serving from their breakfast menu. I got the Papa Wolf special omelet. Wow! It was HUGE and delicious. Wild rice, just the right amount of cheese, spinach, sausage, and more. Best. Omelet. Ever.
It's now my favorite breakfast item in the North Shore. In future visits we will plan to be back for another great meal at the Lemon Wolf

Small, quiet cafe with freshly prepared food. We had the salad and the buffalo chicken sandwich for lunch and were impressed with the quality ingredients. There were only two tables open when we stopped in at 1:15pm and it quickly filled up with other people waiting before they closed at 2pm. Warm and cozy little gem of a place!

Seriously FANTASTIC food! FANTASTIC service! Not only did the owner come and check on us to see if we were enjoying our food, he actually sat down and spoke with us making the experience that much more personal. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!! So worth it!

AMAZING meal and environment at Lemon Wolf Cafe! Highly recommend it! My wife has a food allergy and Mike and staff were incredibly accommodating to her and her meal. The owner was very personable and came to our table a couple times to check on our meal and chat with us. We both ordered fresh fish and it was unbelievable! Sides and soup were delicious too! Definitely coming back here and we both highly recommend it!

This place was so good! I loved my breakfast sammich!!! The owner was so kind and made our breakfast experience very welcoming! I was wondering if you needed a son? 10/10 one of the best people I have ever met. Also I got a free sticker so that’s cool! Next time I am in the area I am for sure coming back!

We ate here at about the same time as the two previous people who left poor reviews. Listen folks - we are just coming out of a pandemic and a huge number of businesses are really struggling to find enough staffing. Yes, the service was a little on the slow side, but the food, atmosphere, and pricing were AMAZING. We were honestly impressed with the quality, especially considering how short staffed they were. We ordered the BBQ burgers - 1/2 pound of beef with a huge order of fries. All in the 10-12 dollar range.

We were riding the ATV trails, and followed the signs posted on the trails to this cafe. Walking in, we felt entirely underdressed, but felt if they were advertising on the trails, they would welcome us. The atmosphere of this restaurant seems entirely more upscale than what their menu prices would indicate.

We will DEFINITELY be coming back the next time we are in the area. To the owners - thank you for posting the signs on the trails. We found them to be most helpful!
