The EMK Institute is next door to the JFK Library in Boston, but staffers informed me that it is not affiliated with the Library. That said, the Institute is really focused on the US Senate and the life of Edward Kennedy. The centerpiece is the replica of the US Senate Chamber, where visitors can sit in a "Senator's" seat. also remarkable is the replica of Senator Kennedy's Senate office. If the institute could have made the office so that visitors could sit in it or interact with in it like a certain presidential library in the US, that would made the experience more fun.

Super cool and well done replica of our senate floor. It's so much smaller than what'd you'd think!

We traveled here with a large group of 8th grade students today and The Kennedy Institute organized an incredible learning experience for us!! From walking into the life size replica of the US Senate, to breakout groups where we learned how our Senate works to represent us--start to finish, students were all highly engaged. Their knowledgeable educators created an environment where everyone was given the opportunity to learn something new. Well designed experience and cannot recommend it enough!

I can't say enough good things about our experience at the EMK Institute. The replica of the Senate chamber is amazing, and the "Today's Vote" program is informative and interactive. The fact that each visitor receives a tablet on arrival and chooses their own profile makes you feel like a part of everything that is going on. We arrived just after opening and stayed easily until 2pm. I highly recommend visiting (and if you are a local, check with your library for discount passes!).

After visiting the US Senate in DC last Thanksgiving, it was nice to hear a lot more about how the Senate operates. Even my 8 year old was interested!

A wonderful and educational experience. A great interactive experience, the staff is very friendly and seem to love their jobs. The chance to follow the making of a law, then playing Senator in the hall was great. Don't go and say nothing. Stand and be heard. It will contribute to your experience. I plan to go back and bring my out of town guests who have not seen it yet. A MUST stop for every American!

Great place to learn about the history and inner workings of the US Senate, plus the life and times of one of its longest-serving members, Edward (Ted) Kennedy. Visitors are handed handheld devices to help them navigate the museum and interact with the exhibitions. The space is huge but has just the right amount of exhibitions, so the experience is not overwhelming. Check out the large hall recreating the actual US Senate chamber in DC, where you can get a feel for what it's like to be a US senator voting on issues and legislation.

The staff are all pleasant and helpful. There is a gift shop and cafeteria on-site.

The Institute gave me a chance to revisit the basic structure of the Senate and its history and to see it in action through the great exhibits and the amazing full scale replica of the Senate chamber. The well informed and enthusiastic staff made our time there truly memorable.

Effective at what it tries to do -- educate visitors on the role of the U.S. Senate and celebrate the political career of Ted Kennedy. The museum is spacious, the exhibits are engaging and memorable, and there is a new and polished look to the building that makes the experience pleasant for all.
