Daddy's Bread

What a gem! A small bakery open on the weekends offering South County wonderful breads. It took me far too long to visit here as a SoCo resident, but I’m hooked! I tried the Chive and Onion and the Raisin this past weekend. Beautiful golden raisins! Scrumptious! A wide variety of selections. And farm fresh eggs.

Daddy's Bread - still here! Been coming here my whole life almost. Still delicious, homemade breads and muffins. You pay by the honor system (stick $$$ in a slot in the counter). Altho they now accept other forms of payment (Venmo, mail or PayPal). This time we got blueberry apple cinnamon, and it's delicious! Everything always is. I think they're only open on the weekends now that summer's over. We went on Wednesday and they were closed. If the big "open" flag is flying out front, you are good to go. Stop by if you're in the 'hood!

Stopped and got the Parmesan dill garlic and it was fabulous. Also got the apple cinnamon and had a slice of that for breakfast this morning with butter and it was also fabulous. I don’t know what I’m have to stay away from first but it’s going to be dangerous and not pretty.

This place is a landmark in Matunuck and one of it's hidden treasures. They have an assortment of fresh baked breads ranging from sweet to savory. It will at times have other baked offerings like beach buns ( cinnamon rolls ) or Huggy Bears ( frosted carrot cake squares) etc ... You pay by the honor system and drop your money in a slot or pay by Venmo/cash app. Loaves are $8 and the other goods vary but worth every penny. Check them out.

Bread is delicious. Small parking area. Flag outside indicates if they are open. Many different options. Sweet and savory breads plus cinnamon buns.

Cash only, honor system. Highly recommend.

A magical place. The best homemade bread on earth. The place hasn't changed since the 70s and that makes me very happy. Thanks Daddy, your bread is a little slice of heaven.

Great bread!! Love the Onion and Chive! Apple and Cinnamon is good too, especially with a good blueberry jam. It's a nice touch to have the honesty system to purchase bread. Try to have small bills. No worries if you don't have exact monies, just make it up next time! Trust is a nice feeling 💕

Amazing! Really!! My wife's first response was a loud "OMG" when she took a bite of a roasted chicken sandwich made with the Parmesan Dill Garlic bread. If you're in South County and you don't stop here to grab a loaf; you're doing it wrong.

Edit: we just made french toast with the cinnamon raisin bread and it was the most delicious breakfast I have ever had.

Absolutely the best baked bread in South county 😋. I'm looking forward to next weekend for some more of the bread goodnes. 🍞

Unique service yourself bread and pastry.
Be sure to bring correct change, there's no one in the store. We love the parmesan garlic. The Apple Cinnamon is a treat, too.

No visit to the RI beaches is complete without a visit to Daddy's.

I can't say enough good things about this place. My wife introduced me to DB when I met her over 10 years ago, and we've been going back multiple times a year since. Our 3 year old asks for it all the time!! We'll be stocking up and freezing a bunch this year. I tell as many people as I can about this amazing place. I hope it stays there forever :)

A true Rhode Island Jem. They work on the honor systems so you tally up what you are purchasing and drop it in the slot. There are also more tech friendly options. Get there early! We suggest the cinnamon buns, honey white bread and PDG. PDG is Parmesean, Dill and Garlic loaf. You can't this loaf anywhere else. It makes amazing homemade croutons.

I was looking for bread bakery nearby and found Daddy's at first we thought it was closed but walk right in and the place smelled great. We will be trying the multi grain and apple cinnamon... Keep you posted.

Very cute and hidden, definitely a diamond in the rough. The bread is awesome and I can't wait to go back for more.
