I love bread and they are definitely worth the trip to Wakefield. My wife saw a post that they had Irish soda bread which I picked up, also got some sourdough bread, a couple croissants and a breakfast croissant that had egg, spinach, feta and onion. It had a good crisp to it plus it was first thing in the am so go there as they had just put stuff out. There were many other delicious treats and ended up spending more than I wanted, but was worth it. Also the chocolate chip cookies were 🔥. Give this spot a try.

Amazing morning bun, great layers and carmelization. I also got the cube which is croissant dough layered into a cube, very cool. Service is also great and friendly.

I don’t know how you could rate this any lower than five stars. The staff were incredibly friendly and warm. I got the focaccia and Pain au Chocolate. The focaccia was divine and flavorful. The Pain au chocolate was buttery and rich (maybe a touch too rich for my first meal of the day). You MUST stop by this gem when you’re in the neighborhood!

If you love bread with a crunchy crust drop everything and run here! I like the bread too much. My wallet aches every time I leave. I usually order soon much bread. I would worry that it goes bad, but my children (and I, along with them) eat so much of it. We are usually surprised when we've eaten 3 loaves in 2 days.

Oh, but if you don't eat bread nearly as fast as my family, then the loaves do freeze well. They also have delicious pastries. Today I had a vegan chocolate croissant that tasted so good, my stomach was worried that butter was coming. (I'm pretty lactose intolerant.)

I really could go on and on about them. We fell in love when they were using Kingston Pizza at URI as their test kitchen. They have now moved to main street, so a little more of a drive for me, but I'm sure I'll be making the trek down more often.

Absolute must stop if you are visiting anywhere near this location!

The croissants are out of this world, the morning buns are suburb.

The spinach and feta croissants are next level - anyone from the Mediterranean will be taken back home with this and anyone who likes Greek or Turkish spinach and feta pies will also be in love.

The bread is also next level! Iced coffee is delicious!

Most importantly the staff is awesome! Super friendly, helpful and (if it’s your first time and you are overwhelmed) very patient!

Check it out! Grab some pastry and bread and head to salty brine beach.

To die for baked goods! Super helpful and polite staff made for a fun experience that will make me a regular when I move to RI. A myriad of workers there that bring top quality to the forefront.

Absolutely phenomenal addition to Main Street! With places like this, ATM, Brickleys, and the Green Line Apothecary anchoring the (new) old Main Street, Wakefield is cementing its place as the hub of South County outside the beaches. The baguettes will take you overseas where bread isn't just a way to shovel other ingredients into your face. I dare you to make it home without tearing into something. The owners are working in the shop and just the most personable people. I anticipate this will be a south county treasure for generations to come. They have an array of cookies, breads, pastries, pizza dough and other assorted goodies. Check the website for hours as they do change and different items are available at different times of day.

absolutely love this place, cannot get enough of their focaccia bread. the staff is so friendly and great. one of my favorite stops when running errands, only wish they were open monday and tuesday!

That moment when you cut into a good bread and taste it fresh. Nothing beats it.

Good bread makes all the difference. I could make a meal out of this bread and a good butter or olive oil alone!

Also the folks and owner working there are such beautiful sweet people.

Very grateful that South County Bread Co has provided this to us locally. I live about 20 minutes away, but it's worth it for me to come here.

Great local shop with top quality freshly baked goods and a nice selection of jams and coffee. I really enjoy the croissants and the pain au chocolate.

What is there to say the baked products are outstanding the service great the only drawback is they sell out quickly, good for them!

As far as bread goes, I’ve gotten their sourdough and red fife. Both have been delicious and organic, double win. I’ve also gotten a vegan croissant and wow, it had fantastic texture. The owner seems like a nice, genuine guy. Their prices are surprisingly reasonable.

Absolutely love this place and was so happy when they opened. The owner and all of the employees are so nice. They are one of only two places in the area that make bread that doesn't make me tired or cause digestive issues! I read in the Tartine bread cookbook that natural ferments are better for people sensitive to these things. Whatever flour they use is delicious! Our family is also a big fan of their croissants, all are delicious but the Ham and Swiss is divine.

This is my absolute ‘go to’ bread shop in RI. They are always baking something new and delicious. There are no words to describe how good their ham/cheese stuffed croissant is. Excellent cookies and pizza dough. It doubles as a favorite coffee shop since I always get an iced coffee to go! Had the focaccia today and truly cannot explain how perfect it was - dense, moist, exploding with flavor. However, the ‘mic drop’ item for me is their ‘Morning Bun’, a sticky cinnamon roll. I died and went to heaven. Not sure I’ll ever consume a piece of food that good again. Hands down the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had in my life, it actually stopped me in my tracks. I bow down to the baker and pastry chef. Insane.

Wow! Visited this gem of a bakery this weekend. Picked up a seeded Irish soda bread, Ruben croissants and more. Everything was the best I’ve ever tasted!!! Love this place. Will be back whenever I am in area. Worth trip out of your way. Thank you thank you South County Bread company.☘

This is a completely charming bread shop! The bread is wholesome and delicious. I love their crusty Italian bread and sourdough breads! Always so fresh. Their ham and cheese croissants and almond croissants are fantastic!
It’s a wonderful experience just to go and try everything! There is no place like it outside of Boston!

This is one of the best things to happen to main street!! The almond croissant was extraordinary. All the bread is over the top good! Coffee is also smooth and delicious. The staff are fun and knowledgeable and clearly love working there. Support this amazing store!!

What an incredible addition to downtown Wakefield. Their pain au chocolat is one of the best I've ever had, rich and flaky yet somehow also substantial, and their breads are outstanding. Don't miss if you're in the area.
