Round Mountain Campground

Exceptional campground. Small (about 16 sites). Onsite staff (Keith and T-Bone) were SUPER friendly and thoughtful. Helped us out a lot. Location is very convenient and a great launch point to several surrounding recreation areas. There is an untreated well onsite. Spots are spacious and spread out, not like at 11 mile. Easy to find. Limits are 2 cars per site and 8 people, no limit on tents. Plenty of level ground and trees. We will definitely be back.

This place is great. Free camping first come first serve. Atv, jeep riding it's got lots of trails to ride and explore.

The cleanest public restrooms I have ever been in, PERIOD! The camp host Mel and his dog Bruno were very pleasant to visit with and he was very quick to help when we realized we had a dead battery. Normally we only camp here once a year but found ourselves at round mountain 3 times this year because we knew the bathrooms, and the entire campground for that matter would be top notch!
I will say there was 1 negative thing though... on the camp hosts day off this red haired lady and a man in a blue truck came flying in there claiming she was his manager and she was asking everyone if we felt the camp host was doing his job until she found someone who hadn't met him yet and then we heard her call someone saying Mel hadn't checked his campers in. I should of said something then like " ummm cant you read, there was a sign saying it was his day off". As they left they drove so fast that they flung a rock chipping another campers windshield. They should be fired for their behavior!
We will be back next spring for sure.... We just really hope Mel is too!

Easy access but still quite secluded... No one else was at the camp ground. Very quiet and peaceful. Spaces are also fairly spaced out.

Great campground...don't tell anybody! Very spacious, clean sites. Plenty of land, and rock formations for kids to explore. Nice views, very quiet. Vault toilets are the cleanest I've ever seen. Host was very gracious, you can tell she cares about her campground. We will be back.

Never see alot of people here which I love for a campground, makes me feel like I have a more comfortable camp while more outdoorsy without a lot of kids

Great little campground near Lake George. Nicely laid out with large campsites, and you won't be camping right on top of your neighbor's. This is adjacent to a popular OHV trail system and there is a good chance you will hear ATV/motorcycle noise during the day on any given weekend.

This place is amazing. Would recommend it to everyone traveling thru. Skip the state park and stay at this hidden treasure. If I had to knit pick I would say my only complaint is there is no trash cans. So not a problem though. Just knit picking. Wonderful park all the way.

We loved this campground. Nice and small with a really great camp host who made sure it was tidy.

Very tranquil and an awesome camping location if you go past the campground there is dispersed camping.

Love it here, Keith and T-Bone are always fun to chat with. 16 sites and they are spread out that you're not right on top of each other.

So many beautiful primitive camping spots!!! Only complaint...a lot of atvs.
