Valle Verde Ranch

The Valle Verde Ranch was a great spot to soak up some warmth & sunshine before heading back home to Alaska for winter!

There were three different patios to enjoy the sun throughout the day, plus a pool to cool off. The “back four” was great for walks through the mesquite trees scoping out birds, & there was easy access to the Anza Trail for walking, running, & biking. Downtown Tubac is just a short walk from the Ranch & other trails in the area were a quick drive away.

Our room (Cabot) was large & comfortable, staying cool throughout the day & warm at night when the temps dropped. The kitchen had plenty of space to prep food & hang out while cooking. We also enjoyed the check-ins from the hosts, Doug & Jane, & appreciated quick history & birding lessons they gave us. All in all, it was a super relaxing & pleasant stay, & we’d recommend it to anyone looking to check out the area!

Magical. Such a special place! Secluded and the property is right up against Anza Trail and the Rio Santa Cruz. The Casita has everything I needed for my retreat, just brought my food. Absolutely recommend

My husband and I had such a wonderful 2 night getaway at the Historic Valle Verde Ranch. The property is full of charm and history and our accomodations - Norm's studio - left nothing to be desired. The bed and bedding were wonderful...loved the pillows! The decor was so tasteful and the small but very well-stocked kitchen met our needs perfectly. There was a Keurig coffee-maker, half and half, kitchen staples, everything we needed. The ranch borders on a large mesquite bosque that takes you to the Anza Trail and the Santa Cruz River...with water flowing!! (Those from AZ know that is not the norm for rivers around here...they are typically dry riverbeds.) Kelley was as nice and helpful as can be. There are many patios and courtyards to sit and enjoy a good book...or nap in the hammock. We can't wait to return!

I spent a relaxing five days in Norms studio and then moved into the ranch house for my last day of my stay. The setting of the ranch is so peaceful: boarding on the Anza trail; walking distance to the historic town of Tubac; and the lovely pool and patio. The ranch house is stunning with all of its historic pieces throughout and lovely areas to sit and relax watching the birds, providing everything a guest could wish for. The hosts were also very helpful and informative on the area. I couldn't give a higher recommendation.

The Ranch was nothing short of spectacular! From the beautifully appointed Casa, which was charming, immaculate and so comfortable, to the interesting, desert-scaped grounds which my dog and I had fun exploring, my only regret is that our stay was too short.

I look forward to returning to Tubac and hopefully the Historic Valle Verde Ranch again soon. Owner Kelley deserves a special shout-out for acting as my 'GPS' in the dark the night we arrived. Thank you Kelley, wife and team!

One of a kind type of place. The ranch house holds so much history and you can just feel it walking through the place. The grounds are very well maintained and the path through the mesquite forest is incredible. It feels like you're on a safari honestly, with all types of birds chirping and flying through. There is so much to do at the ranch: swim in the pool (I hear they are adding a hot tub soon!), play pool in the great room, enjoy a book in the courtyard or walk the labrynth under the stars (a must do!). It's also just a 10 minute walk to Tubac's main drag, close enough to enjoy a couple Wisdom's margs and find your way home! The hospitality of the hosts Kelley and Nancy makes you feel right at home. Definitely going to come back! I highly recommend!

Spent 7 nights in the middle of the summer heat in Norm's Cottage and found it very comfortable! 5 of the nights we grilled out dinner by the pool, made use of the pool to cool down, walked the town (and bought a new townhome along the way). Kelley & Nancy were very helpful, made sure we had everything we needed. They truly seem to enjoy playing hosts and they did a marvelous job.

Valley Verde Ranch is a charming place to stay. Wonderful accommodations, spa swimming pool great hiking trails the grounds are extraordinarily beautiful. The host and hostess Kelley and Nancy are wonderful people it is a wonderful place to stay. Highly, highly recommend it

This historic ranch is an absolute gem! A gem not only because of it's physical beauty - but also because of the diligence, dedication, and love that Kelley, Nancy, and ranch staff pour into it. It's entire grounds are wonderful and offer an opportunity to stroll through a mesquite bosque to the Anza Trail. Kelley's timely responses and welcoming, very friendly demeanor made my first (and not last) stay extra pleasant. Thank you Valle Verde Ranch!

Absolutely beautiful, private, quiet, clean, ideal location right next to the Anza trail, comfortable, and superb customer service from the owner, Kelley.
You would never know that you're just a 2 minute drive from the Tubac market, restaurants coffee shop and bars.
It honestly feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, even though you're really not. What more could you want? This place is perfect!
Stay here, you'll be very glad that you did! We will be coming back here forever!

This is a beautiful peaceful place for a vacation stay. We spent 4 nights and wish we had booked for a longer visit. Be sure to have Kelley give you a tour of the ranch house! Nancy and Kelley we will be back.

The beautiful ranch house and surrounding area was the perfect place for our family getaway. With plenty to do and see it was a wonderful experience for all. And the hosts are most accomodating. We highly recommend booking a stay at this property.

Geat place for our family vacation. We enjoyed being able use the pool and grill our evening meal outside. There was plenty of room for our family of 10. Kelly and Nancy are great hosts.

Thanks to Valle Verde Ranch owners, Doug and Jane, my family spent an adventurous week exploring southern Arizona. An easy day trip to Kartchner Caverns, Saguaro National Park, Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, Madera Canyon and many possibilities for the next time we stay at Valle Verde! Relaxing and cooking at the end of a the day in the spacious rooms and well appointed kitchen was a treat.

This was such a cool place! I stayed at the Valle Verde ranch for about a week this winter and it was nothing short of amazing. The host was kind, responsive, and made sure everyone was comfortably situated. The house was spacious, artfully decorated, the kitchen incredibly well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, etc. and best of all the WiFi was great. Can't seem to escape having to hop on zoom calls, even when traveling, and it was no problem to do so here. The video and audio on my calls didn't lag or cut out or do the "internet unstable" thing at all, which was much appreciated. The bedrooms are also quite large with beds and sitting furniture within them, plus en suite bathrooms. I would absolutely stay here again, either for vacation or for a place to escape to for some remote work. Hard to beat answering emails in the morning then going bird watching, hiking with javelinas, and out to dinner at cozy upscale restaurants in town in the evening.

This ranch is one of the most beautiful and most relaxing that we have visited!

Jane und Doug waren wunderbare Gastgeber! Wir haben es sehr genossen ein paar Nächte in der historischen Ranch zu verbringen und ein bisschen in die Geschichte einzutauchen. Die Unterkunft ist top! Pool, Whirlpool ein wunderschöner Garten und direkt der historische Anza-Trail neben dem Anwesen. Wir konnten hier sehr gut entspannen. Um Arizona und den Südwesten der USA zu erleben, ist die Valle Verde Ranch genau die richtige Anlaufstelle.
