Beautiful granite natural marvel. Onway to Twin fall city, first we reached Visitor center for information. It opens from 8am to 4.30pm. With passage of time weathering of granite rocks occurred giving different shapes to rocks, displaying steeples, cathedral, pyramids, windows etc. Few important rocks are Treasure, Register, Camp, Elephant, Bath rock to see. One can enjoy Rock climbing, camping, hiking, horse riding, picnicking activities.
No entry fee for park.
Pets must be leashed.
Drones flying is prohibited.
Campfire is allowed in designated areas.
Washroom facility is limited.
Beautiful place to enjoy granite spell bound beauty.

We stayed the week before Christmas for a night. We were the only ones in the campground area and it was AMAZING. Beautiful views, lots of animal tracks, and cool rocks to explore. Such a cool spot.

One day will not be enough! Camp at the twin sisters and take the large loop one day, and the more inner trails the next! Read up on the history before you go, and you won't be able to stop imagining all the natives/cowboys and pioneers that came through. Bring bear spray, there are big cats. I didn't see or hear any on my trip but stay prepared!

Incredible. Quite a few people and a lot of kiddos. It's hard to not act like one of the kids when you're here. It's so much fun climbing and crawling around on the rocks. Wear shoes with any type of grip, there's a lot of slick rock. Make sure to check out Register Rock, where the people on the Oregon/California Trail wrote their names on the rock in axle grease. Very cool.
This place was also a place of reverence for the native people.
I hope everyone is respectful of this beautiful place.
They do have vault restrooms and trash cans, so utilize those. (By throwing away your trash and packing out what you packed in.)

I don’t know how this place can be so unknown—it’s fantastic! Great little hikes, tons of climbing and bouldering, camping, stunning rock formations and wildflowers, and plenty for birders to scope out. The folks at the Visitors Center are well informed, kind, and extremely helpful as well. My friend and I spent several hours here, but this is well worth staying a few days.

The National Parks Service app has a couple of great self-guided tours for some of the shorter hikes so you can learn about the geology and history of the area too.

Visited for the first time today, excellent views, rock climbers, and a lot of people.
Circumnavigated the complete are, to and from.
Nice to see cactus there.
Climbed to over 6,800 ASL.

An absolutely gorgeous place for rock climbing and also short hikes. It is very well maintained and has 63 camp sites. The sites 61 to 63 are a little remote and are great to experience fantastic sunsets and watch the stars.
Site 63 is unfortunately used by ATV riders ripping through that site (only when empty). We left our sun shower there - it was gone when we came back. Only ATV tracks where left.
Maybe it was not an ATV rider but they had to move the picnic table with the sun shower to access the site.

Mostly known for its climbing opportunities. We found the hikes to be pretty spectacular in June. If you wait until July or August, it's probably going to be too hot because a lot of the hikes are exposed in high desert. The geology is amazing.
Stop at the visitor center first and talk to Russ. Pick up a map. Do the interpretive trail using their website explanations.
All the roads in the park are dirt, but they're well-maintained and smooth.

City of Rocks is awesome! So much to do for literally anyone! Awesome rock climbing, great hikes, accessible look out points, and the vibes are immaculate. Everyone was so friendly and respectful. To me, that really made this place special. The road through the park is gravel and it did get a little slippery when it rained briefly. Personally, I think that adds to the appeal. You really feel like you're out in the mountains and I really appreciate that. Highly highly recommend visiting!

Love this park. It is beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was there were no bathrooms, you have to go all the way to the visitor center, which wS well maintained. There also isn't no parking. You have to pull off to the side of the road. It does offer several camp grounds that are located in the park. The park is well maintained. I will definitely return, this is a must see

Went on an adventure with my bestie yesterday. (She probably posted a review as well!) We had a great time! It was beautiful and clear. Well maintained. You must stop at the visitors center! They are knowledgeable and super kind! They gave us some great trails that I could do (I'm not the most fit!) Highly recommend for an adventure!!

One of the most fantastic hidden gems of Idaho. Beautiful, entertaining, and excellent place to have a family campout. We had a family reunion and kids from teenagers to 3y/o had fun. Wide variety of rocks to play on, bolted sport routes for serious climbers, and hiking paths for all ages

What a gorgeous place! I feel like it gets overshadowed by Craters of the Moon or the big national parks to the east, but City of Rocks is most definitely worth a visit.

In addition to the spectacular rock formations, there’s a lot of neat information on the Oregon Trail emigrants.

One thing I’ll note is to definitely check the website before going to see if the road is open. We did not and the route we took was closed. However the park ranger, who could not have been friendlier and more helpful, coached us in.

8/25/22- City of Rocks is a beautiful remote location. All campsites had something special to offer, well set out tent pads, great views, easy access to awesome climbing routes or trails, some sites were walk-ins set among the privacy of trees and foliage, others are adjoining parking lots which may be an advantage to those wanting to be near restrooms. Sites could be found completely isolated or clustered together if your camping with a larger group. The restrooms are pit toilets but were immaculately clean and stocked. Friendly park rangers serviced the restrooms daily and were present to answer any questions. There was a water spigot at the Bath Rock parking area but was being serviced at the time of our visit. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again!

Be absolutely certain if using gps navigation to put in you want to go to the visitors center otherwise you may get taken on 9 miles of washboard dirt and gravel; you want to come in through Almo. The visitors center is well worth the stop and the reserve itself is spectacular. If you are not a rock climber you will want to avoid going in the months of June and October. These are their busiest months. We will definitely be back.

Decided last-minute to take a trip here for some winter camping. There’s no fee to enter with a vehicle to drive around, and it’s $14/night to camp. Each campsite has a nice picnic table and fire pit! We camped at twin sisters, which has only 4 camp sites and is a bit secluded from the rest of the sites. If you’re looking for a bit of privacy, I’d recommend camping there (there are no bathrooms at that site, though!)
If you want to camp, you’ll need to stop by Bath Rock to pay the $14 fee. There are a handful of bathrooms along the main road there if you need them!
Once we got our camp set up, we spent almost our entire night star gazing. The skies are so dark out there, the stars are just absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to stop by the visitor center on your way in! It’s on the main road in Almo, just before the turn to City of Rocks.

WOW! This east coaster is amazed at the dramatic geography. I'm too decrepit to climb much but watched others. Stayed 2 nights / days in a 23 ft travel trailer. Site 47 gives a lot of space and a great view out back. Cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen or used.

One of my all time favorite places. There's so much to explore here! It's a phenomenal place to camp, I especially love going in the fall when temperatures are cooler. Rock climbing here is so fun, but you don't have to rock climb to have fun here. If you don't have rock climbing equipment Bath Rock is a great experience and pretty easy to climb up without anything. I think this place is my cat's favorite place to adventure as well! Highly recommend camping here or at least spending the day here!
