VCU Health Emergency Center at New Kent

Took my husband here last night doubled over with severe pain from a kidney stone. We were able to quickly check-in and the triage nurse took him almost immediately into a room. The nurse came in and after double checking his symptoms administered IV pain meds to give him some relief before taking him back for imaging. It eventually got busy during our 5ish hour stay but we felt like he was well taken care of and attended to. They didn’t rush us, gave him more medication as he needed it and gave him the option of going to the observation center overnight, although it seemed like they were willing to keep an eye on him for as long as he felt he should be there.
They even alerted the main urology department with VCU to get him scheduled for a follow up appointment.
We were very pleased and glad this satellite location is in New Kent.

Came in with something in my ear. Was seen immediately! Everyone from the front desk to nurses, doctors and check out was fantastic!!! Super clean and tidy facility. Will definitely be back if there's another emergency!!! Highly recommend.

All the staff have been wonderful all three times that I had to go there. A great bunch of nurses and doctors.

Went in on 3/1/23 early morning for dizziness and ears plugged after my physician in Mechanicsville refused to see me because I might have COVID which I was 99.9% sure I didn't. ( I didn't have it). The check in person doctor and nurse were all awesome. They found I had a plugged ear probably from an minor cold I had weeks earlier. The nurse (sorry I didn't get her name) gets special thanks for spending 30 minutes getting me clear. The doctor was great also figured out the problem in minutes. The lady that had worked all night and checked me in was so nice and pleasant even at the end of her shift. I was happy to pay the bill. Wish I could always go there for health care. Keep up the fantastic work. The center is a welcome benefit in New Kent

Went in on 9/26/22 and received excellent care for my severe covid symptoms. 10-15 minutes from my house. So grateful for this location so I didn't have to go downtown! The doctor himself came in and checked on me several times during my IV treatment. I would definitely go back if I need an ER! Thank you HealthCare heroes, for being there for us!

I had been very sick and got so dehydrated. My daughter took me at about 830 pm. Everyone was so nice and caring. They gave me fluids and nausea medicine. They did test and kept me informed. I am so thankful for this facility to be near us. I can’t imagine bad reviews unless the people were rude to the staff. They are there to help you so even if you are sick you should be kind also.

Staff was terrific! Took my 8 yr old granddaughter there last night. They were wonderful. Very attentive, thorough, took time to explain, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Their patience with an 8 yr old was commendable. Thank you for excellent service!

We went to this location after our 2 year old daughter dislocated her elbow right before bedtime, and they saw us right away. The doctor saw us right away, recognized the issue, and was able to reset her elbow and stop the crying in 5 minutes. They even gave her a popsicle while we waited for X-ray results, and everyone was so kind and patient. We spent about 3 hours there in total. We are so grateful that we have this level of health care right here in our back yard. Fantastic experience, very professional and kind staff.

Impressed with VCU Health various satellite locations and the services they provide. VCU Health is taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safest environment possible, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic. The impressive cleanliness, safety and cleaning protocols to protect patients, team members and the community against COVID-19 exposure and infection is meticulous. I required a abdominal CT scan for a upcoming surgery preferably to be preformed at a VCU facility. This location was closer than driving to Richmond. This VCU Health's Emergency Center is in New Kent. It provides round-the-clock care for medical emergencies demanding critical attention. WIth my unecpected medical allergy reactions this is just the place I need to be to have diagnostics images taken. It is not an urgent care center. It is a freestanding outpatient radiological and a fully functioning emergency center that provides emergency care and radiological services to people of all ages. Melinda and the entire staff are exceptional, knowledgeable in their communication, especially directions to the facility and make you feel comfortable during the entire process from check in to discharge. The entire staff are professional and respectful to your concerns and needs. Highly recommend 👌.

I was in the emergency room recently I got the best care ever. The person that put a line in my arm for drawing blood and giving fluids did not even leave a mark on my arm cannot tell where the line was. Christy thank you so much for being an amazing nurse. Every one they're treated me with great courtesy and kindness. Thank you so much.

My husband fell from a ladder and injured his shoulder. The staff was pleasant and care was excellent. He was seen within a reasonable amount of time and released with treatment within about an hour.

Really grateful that this hospital is here in New Kent. My experience here was great. From reception, to my nurse, to my doctor: everyone was so nice and professional and knowledgeable. They got me taken care of and feeling better. Thank you all!

Unfortunately I have had to take my daughter here twice already once at night and once during the day. She is not a fan of strangers but they were absolutely amazing with her she didn’t fuss at all! They gave her things to keep her occupied and some played peek a boo for a few seconds with her! If you need to go to an emergency room or take children I highly recommend this one!

I have been here twice in the past few months. Both times I was given an er room, treated, and released in less than a few hours. The staff is friendly, efficient, and very caring.

I had to visit this VCU heath center this week. All the nurses and doctors are wonderful. Very caring and efficient. I appreciate the center being here in New Kent.

I was seen yesterday after dropping a dirt bike- scraped shoulder to toe with a nasty/deep abrasion to my knee. The staff was AMAZING. From registration to discharge. Thank you all.
