Amherst Inn

This was a pleasant surprise. I found the location online and booked in advance. It wasn't quite what I was expecting when we pulled in, but I was not disappointed when we got in the door. They thought of everything - from hooks on the back of the main door to hang jackets to the complimentary snack basket (with a package of paper plates!). If you forgot any bathroom items, you'd be covered. The room was so cozy and comfortable, I was almost sad we were only in the area for one night. We'd definitely stay here again.

I had a fantastic stay at the Amherst Inn! The room was exceptionally clean, possibly the cleanest I've ever experienced. The homely atmosphere and thoughtful amenities, including a snack basket, magazines, books, and a fully stocked bathroom, really stood out. It was evident that cleanliness was a top priority, with even the remote control wrapped in plastic. No odd odors, and the heating/cooling system operated silently. The property was immaculate, and it was wonderful to chat with the owner, who shared their pride in running the inn. I highly recommend staying here!

My family and I enjoyed our three night stay at the Amherst Inn. The rooms were just as comfortable as big name hotels. The beds were super comfortable and the towels thick. The room includes a thorough set of toiletries and the in room snacks provided great treats when needed.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came across this boutique hotel located in down town Amherst Virginia. The rooms are well appointed with upscale linens and towels. There are complimentary toiletries with just about everything you might have forgotten to pack, a microwave, refrigerator and complimentary snacks , plates and utensils for dining in. They even offered books and magazines. I will definitely make this a regular stop ion my frequent trips Amherst.

As with most of these reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by these rooms. I’m typically a chain hotel traveler and was a little hesitant on booking here. Turns out that the room was great, it was super clean and well stocked. The hotel staff was superb!! Thanks

A wonderful place to stay, the rooms were perfect, and it was just awesome. It was the Cleanest Inn I've ever stayed in, It had everything you would ever need when traveling. I would stay there again and recommend this place.

I really enjoyed staying here and if I am ever in Amherst again I would stay here in a heartbeat. The rooms have everything you could need. Very comfortable beds, great hot shower, complimentary toiletries (even a toothbrush if you forgot yours), complimentary snacks and coffee right in you room. Friendly staff. I have zero complaints.

Just spent two nights at the Amherst Inn with my family. The room was incredibly cute and cozy. Everything was clean and tidy, the attention to detail made it feel like home. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The updates, snacks, and friendly service were exactly what we were looking for. Will definitely be back.

We came to Amherst for a Wedding and stayed 4 nights at the Inn. It was so nice staff was friendly, beds were comfortable, and very quiet. We will definitely stay here again on our travels thru Virginia.

Excellent little hotel in a sweet little town. Reservation was easy and everything was ready when we arrived. The room is small but updated and cozy. Lots of “little things” to make it feel homey and to make sure you have everything you need. Snacks, water, coffee, and tea in the room. In the bathroom, a basket full of toiletries for your convenience. Great beds, lots of pillows, TV on a swivel mount, shrink wrapped remote, even a separate heater for the bathroom. Books and magazines everywhere if you want to read and explore. My only con is the tiny shower. They do not have tubs, only single tiny showers. But even the shower had a rainfall shower head to make it better. Really a great stay! Thank you!

Enjoyed our stay. They were very nice and the room was very clean & quiet. If you forgot a toiletry chances are it’s in that little basket by the sink! Loved the sheets and had the right amount of pillows.

The Amherst Inn has extremely clean, functional, and well-decorated rooms. The beds, pillows, linens, toiletries, decor, and the very good quality of the furniture borders on what you would find in a a very upscale hotel. It appears to be an old motel that was extensively remodeled and refurbished by someone who was committed to providing an upscale-like experience, certainly a cut above the usual chain motels that are in this price range. We had an excellent stay.

In addition to the generally comfortable room, our room had a microwave oven, small refrigerator, a coffee maker, and free coffee, tea, and snacks. Our room was small, as was the bathroom and the shower, but those are minor drawbacks. Overall, the Amherst Inn is a good value, to put it mildly.

This place is clean, clean, clean! The room is on the smaller side, but they have thought of absolutely everything.... comfortable bed with super soft, high thread count sheets, a writing desk with a useful book of nearby amenities, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and a table for two where you can enjoy the complimentary water and snacks. There are also a couple of nice, shared outside seating areas.

Stayed here for a couple of nights for my graduation nearby. It was so cute and quaint. Loved the decor, loved the free snacks and beverages, and loved how clean it was. It accomplishes what it’s meant for it and I highly recommend. No complaints.

What a great place to stay! Everything is clean and it is super cozy in here. It really has airbnb vibes rather than a motel. There is a rain shower head, toiletries, snacks, hot cocoa, tea, mini fridge (no freezer) and a microwave! There are book lamps installed on either side of the bed and im actually not fearful of the bed blankets! This will definitely be our go to when we visit from NJ to sc!

What an amazing stay! The rooms were clean, and I mean CLEAN. The beds were soft. You can tell a great deal of care was taken in the renovations. The hot water was available within seconds!!!
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Every question was answered efficiently and sincerely. The gift basket was a welcomed treat by the way. This will be our place of refuge every trip. And since our daughter will attend the local college this fall, I dare say we will be fast friends. Thank you!

This is by far the cutest little motel I've ever stayed at. The outside is immaculately clean and clear of any debris. When I walked inside I won't lie I was a little apprehensive it being an older small motel, but it was so inviting and adorable. The interior is beautiful and gives you a feeling of being at home with books, magazines and flyers to read. Also many snacks we're left in a cute basket and all the toiletries you would need... Those extra steps the owners have taken went miles with me in my opinion on this location. I give this place in a 1-10 rating a 10+ for marketing, style and comfort!! A must stay if coming through the area and just want to feel at home. Loved!! Thank you so much for the great hospitality also!!

The room was a little musty, but very clean and comfortable.

The rooms are the so cute! Little touches everywhere! Books and magazines to read, snacks to enjoy, and the beds are very comfortable! Front desk was very helpful too.

It was a cozy room, they thought of all the extras! Very, very, very clean! The staff was kind, considerate and helpful. It felt like a bed and breakfast. The Inn has parking in front of your door, the parking lot is not huge but ample space for a large pickup truck or van. There is a grocery store in walking distance and other deliveries.
