Cafe Venice Restaurant and Bar

Great little restaurant in Downtown Venice! I stopped in on a nice day to have a drink and read my book. I sat in the bar and they had the doors open, which let in a nice breeze. The staff was friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. It seems like they’ve got some great food options too.

Omg!!! I have lived in Venice for just going on five years now and tonight was my first time here with my sister and my niece. Connie was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious, the wine was amazing and the music was awesome. If you’re looking for good food, good service and a restaurant with music. For a side, the butternut squash was amazing! This is the place to go. This is now going to be my go to restaurant in Venice! Great job, everybody! Such a fun atmosphere! ❤❤

We have lived in Venice for almost 4 years and just gave Cafe Venice a try last night. Everything was amazing. We will definitely return. The other couple we were with was also impressed. We will tell friends and family to give it a try!!

This was our first visit to Cafe Venice Restaurant and we will be back! The food was excellent. Drinks were also very good and the wait staff was really really good. We enjoyed sitting out side as it was a lovely day also. We are not locals here but it was obvious from the number of locals showing up that this is a popular spot.

While there are many excellent culinary possibilities in historic downtown Venice, Florida, this one is definitely worth a stop if you have a little money in your pocket.

The food here is second in quality to very few. Across-the-board: drinks, appetizers, mains, desserts. There is a strong variety of food, so most people are likely to find something that they want, regardless of what they are looking for. There is a full bar that offers pretty much anything you could ask for, although they did not have sloe gin when I asked for it (I am going to imagine that not too many people ask for it, at all, but they probably do not get too many requests for drinks that are off the menu or unusual). Service is swift and professional. Our server was Katie and she was definitely top shelf.

Our party ordered a variety of dishes that included gyoza and eggplant appetizers, osso buco, seafood pasta, vegan lasagna, crispy roasted duck, pot roast, and stuffed fish (flounder, I think?). We ordered red wine by the bottle, a French 75, and a traditional Moscow mule. When I say you could not ask for a better preparation for any of the dishes, I am serious. The flavors and the doneness for each were exactingly executed. Our deserts: creme brulee, Irish cream cheesecake, and key lime pie slices were all fantastic.

The atmosphere might be regarded as slightly nicer than casual, but not formal. Nighttime ambiance is warm and subdued, maybe at the very edge of intimate, particularly if you can get away from the noise of the bar.

Prices are relatively high, but not obscene. You will not feel like you paid too much, most likely. The quality is worth it.

The positive problem with Venice is that when you turn any corner in the historic district, you may run into another wonderful restaurant. This one, probably numbers among the best in the area, but that's sort of like comparing any number of works of art. The big challenge for you is likely to be picking the style that you are looking for on any given day.

I guess if I had any caveats, I would say look out for the parking. If you have been to historic downtown Venice, then you know why.

Cafe Venice has been our annual Christmas party spot for our company for two years now and we couldn't be more impressed each time! We had Katie and another gentleman(sorry didn't get his name) there to offer the BEST service all evening. They were very attentive and extremely sweet to everyone, especially my 1.5 year old daughter. Kaye even came around to make sure all was well, you just can't get better service. Not to mention the food being absolutely delicious! I was also at a bridal shower that same morning in the same room, and the day to evening meals are equally as yummy and good. Great for any occasion you are celebrating! Thank you everyone here, Merry Christmas!

Had an awesome dinner or server was fantastic. Was able to make reservations for 4 at 6 pm. The bar area had live music and we sat in the other room and the music was nice, wasn’t too loud. Nice wine selection, we tried a sip before we ordered the whole bottle. Huge menu.

This restaurant is too 5 score across the board in every aspect. After having lunch at the restaurant we decided to have our Mom’s 95th birthday, we used the private room which worked out exceptionally for 40 people. The service Laura and Katherine did an amazing outstanding good. The service is outstanding and the bartender/manager Chad was extremely accommodating.
If you are thinking of having a celebration, this is the place.

There were 7 of us that dined for lunch this visit. My first time to this restaurant. Chad, our waiter did a fine job taking care of all of us. I had the pastrami melt with fries. They put pickles on which is different, but tasty. My Dad had the quiche with lobster bisque soup. Both excellent. Found out one of our group is an author. His book was brought for us to pass around and read. It can be found on Amazon. Highly recommend Cafe Venice.

The Rombauer Chardonnay was the perfect choice to take us from the appetizer through the main course onto the Creme Brulé.
Remek will make you the best espresso ever!! (made with love❤) Add a Sambuca or take it a step beyond and have a Black Sambuca neat!

We love Venice in May and have eaten here two years in a row. Hubby got Pot Au Feu (French pot roast) again and I got the crab stuffed flounder. Both very good. The kitchen and waitress were great about accommodating some dietary restrictions.

Canada Club dinner outing, 25 attendees, very pleased with the food and service; Donna waited on them well and everyone said they were pleased.

Smack in the middle of downtown Venice, CV offers the perfect balance between casual environment and upscale dining. The bartenders are fun and generous and the food selection is complimentary to their wines and there's something for every taste. Absolutely a must experience!

PLUS... They carry Shark Tooth Vodka!

First impression was an A plus experience. Family in Venice from Massachusetts I drove up from Fort Myers. The staff was not over friendly. Well knowledged punctual and fun. My meal was amazing meat was cooked to perfection greens were blanched just the way I liked them and who doesn't enjoy a great mashed potatoes seasoning was just right. I can't remember the last time I was this please with my dining experience. Please keep up the good work because I'm going to be telling everyone about you!!! Special thank you to our waitress Michelle hope the rest of the staff is just as great as you are.

20 of us went for dinner and the service was exemplary and the food was amazing. We will be back!

We had a group of six people celebrating a 50th anniversary party and they were able to set up a private room for us exactly as we requested. Service and food were excellent and special kudos to Jeffrey our waiter. I would highly recommend Cafe Venice to anyone contemplating an event such as this.

My husband and I went to the Venice Cafe for Thanksgiving dinner, and we were not disappointed. It was our first time eating there, and the food was delicious, wait staff was friendly and the restaurant was lovely. We can't wait to go back.

This is the perfect place for lunch on W Venice Ave! The Turkey Sandwich was massive, but delicious, especially with the herbed mayo. I love the fact that you can upgrade your side to a side salad as well; it won't be just any old piece of iceberg laying around either! I had the refreshing and flavorful Fresh Spinach Salad as my side and loved everything about it, from the goat cheese to the orange vinaigrette. Thank you, Cafe Venice, for a wonderful meal!
PS: Shout out to Katie (I hope I remembered her name correctly!), my table's server. She was sweet and efficient, a perfect waitress!
