Great little steak restaurant on Orange Ave just north of Sandlake!

Small menu done well...sandwiches, sides and entrees...

Service is attentive and with a smile.

Beer and wine available, Wednesday wine discounts.

Had a medium rare steak cooked perfectly and pork chops served medium as ordered. Steak fries are delicious.

Happy hour special small plates during the week, specials most days, live piano music Friday night and....

Hump day special is a camel burger....I'll be back for that.

Game burgers are always available, but change often.

Desserts are made in house and worth a try!

Same ownership as Fish on Fire restaurant a mile away.

A group of us from work have been wanting to try The Steer for lunch for quite some time. We were all pleasantly surprised with the reasonable prices, great service and excellent food. We will definitely come back. Support local businesses and give The Steer a try

I cannot believe how delicious this place was. The crab cakes were absolutely delicious. Probably one on my top 2 most favorites. Late I had the 8oz Sirlion cooked med rare, served with asparagus, a veggie mix and slow roasted mushrooms. I regret absolutely nothing. The food was amazing.

They were playing some live music, and the service was great! I cannot wait to go back
The atmosphere was nice, had a barn like feel to it. They definitely attract an older crowd, but it's so nice.

Amazing! Dont listen to the bad reviews, come in and taste the food for yourself. Highly recommend the 16oz ribeye. We got ours medium rare, seasoning was perfect. Side salads were plenty big. Cozy place, enjoyed the piano on friday night :)

This place has exceptional steaks, Pam is extremely welcoming, and Rae is a wonderful server! First time at this restaurant and already know I will be a repeat customer! Would give more stars if I could!!

Great little place, casual homey feel, with great food.

My thoughts:

Bread - delicious
House Salad - not too large, needs cheese.
Baked Potato - delicious
Sirloin Steak w/mushroom topping - delicious.
Steak tibs with hunter sauce - delicious, should think about a side of sour creme.
House Steer Beer - tasty, not bitter, and smooth. Nice pairing.

Beer selection limited. Restaurant has extensive wine selection Limited, plain choice of beers. Need more original beers.

Since they have Stella, they should think about having Stella Cidre.

Great local spot! Sister restaurant of Fish on Fire...great food, good atmosphere. Would recommend!

Was driving around with my date looking for a decent place to eat steak. Having been disappointed by popular chains, I figured why not try one of these Mom n Pop restaurants instead? I had no clue I was in for such a suprise. The sides were fresh and the Merlot complimented what tasted like the best steak I've had in years. The staff was friendly and the chef was very cordial. I'm shocked it took me so long to discover this place. I'll definitely go back!

They're getting five stars for the food alone. My wife's filet was on par with a $100 a plate steakhouse. The live pianist made for a great atmosphere. The servers were prompt and courteous. If I had to find a complaint it would be that the chairs aren't very comfortable. Otherwise the place is great. We'll be back.

Everything, start to finish, was truly fantastic. Jay, The owner, is truly an exceptional chef. All dishes were cooked to perfection and the serve up was well executed. An awesome experience with the family, with plenty of left overs to enjoy later.

First time here and I wasn’t sure what to expect. The food was perfect, steaks well seasoned and perfectly cooked! I’m very picky when it comes to temperature, they nailed it for all four of us! Jill was our server and was excellent and attentive! Will be back! Very impressed! Highly recommended!!!

I ordered lunch online, and picked it up at the restaurant. I was in a rush, and didn't realize I was missing part of my order. When I called them, they immediately offered to deliver my missing item! Not to be punny, but that left a good taste in my mouth, as did the food! I ordered the smoked beef sandwiches and fries, both were delicious. The barbecue sauce that came on the side was perfect, tangy and slightly tomato-y. The beef was shaved thin, smoky and salty, but not overly so. The bun was soft, yet held the beef in perfectly. The fries were cooked to perfection. My only problem is deciding whether to order the same thing next time, or try something new!

We had four couples and three kids (ages 2&3) tonight and everything was amazing! After making a reservation, our table was set up and the staff was super nice! We started with a few appetizers (escargot, shrimp, crab cake, gator).... and out of everything... i finally found gator not fried with an amazing taste and escargot like no other!! We had some people get steak, veggies, corn, prime rib, ect and everyone agreed it was cooked perfectly. Three people had the country fried steak and gravy and said it was delicious and finished it all! Our server “Rae,” was on point also. She was attentive and understood our children’s craziness! We will definitely be back!

We visited at lunch and the place was not crowded at all. We were kindly greeted by Tim at the door and we were sat very quickly. The decor of the place is simple and "texas" themed. The menu is simple but has a decent selection of sides and entrees. I ordered the prime rib French dip and my wife had the sirloin with a baked potato. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh! My wifes steak was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The potato was not dried out and was fresh.

Side note: the restaurant uses paper straws which was a huge plus.

Wow what a GREAT steak, the only thing in competition was the amazing $15 price point!

My friend Sue and I discovered this gem this past week, 8/14/20.The food was delicious, our waitress, Kara was awesome and so friendly! The prices are reasonable andwe will be back. If you want great country-western food, then definatly give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. 😁👍

Found this awesome steakhouse near my hotel. Glad I did. Excellent chopsteak. Generous portions & quality. Great wine list. Priced reasonable. Now on to dessert.....a must try if your in town. NOT A CHAIN STORE...thank goodness :-)

Okay, this is my new steak house! The steaks are so tender and juicy. Make sure you make a reservation as their seating is limited. If you are a beef eater you MUST try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Great service and prices too!
