Simma Down

At least once a week I stop and pick up my food that's been ordered. Their food and service is amazing. I get happy on the way home because I know the food is good and they give you nice size portions. So many times I planned on cooking and changed my mind when their food came across my mind. Last week was the first time I ordered food for my kids and they loved it. I think I messed up doing that lol because they didn't leave nothing behind but happy plates. The atmosphere inside is so warm , inviting , and you are greeted soon as you walk in. Being a Chef I can appreciate the way they operate their business and these a few reasons why I choose five stars. Try them out you won't be disappointed

Big up🇯🇲Bless up 🙏! I just have to tell you about this place Simma Down. My sweet neighbors the Johnsons told us about this quaint little spot and we couldn’t wait to get there. They were so sweet and brought us backs the jerk chicken, rice and peas, slaw, baked mac and the chicken pasta. Big up to my sweet neighbors. Well everything was absolutely well seasoned and very flavorful. My absolute favorite was the chicken pasta. So today, the hubby and I took the hour and half drive from Madison, MS to Philadelphia. It was such a cool peaceful ride. Jennifer was at the counter taking orders and Baker was in the back doing what he does best, stirring it up. She greeted up pleasantly and even knew who we were because our neighbors told her we were coming. I ordered the turkey neck (which looks like oxtail), rice and peas and baked mac. Hubby got curry chicken rice and peas, cabbage and cornbread. Well, every thing was absolutely delicious and yummy! We sat and talked for a long while with Baker and Jennifer. Wonderful people. I urge you, please Madison, Ridgeland, Jackson, take the short ride to Simma Down in Philadelphia and visit this spot. You will not regret the ride, and you will enjoy the delicious foods. Excellent food. Jerk chicken and curry chicken were excellent. Corn bread has their own unique spin to it. Very friendly owners. I don’t know why there is a line around Taco Bell when this is right next door. Check it out.

mouth ! I was looking around , and it’s some interesting Jamaican history.. which i find so cool. I love this restaurant . it’s worth more than the $8 i paid !! EVEN THE KIDS LOVE IT !!🥰🥰

We loved our meals. We purchased the sampler platter. honey this was the best birthday meal entire state of Mississippi! The couple who owns this place definitely cooks with love! Customer service was great and the food definitely something to talk about with a smile and full stomach! Thanks for your wonderful food and service. Be blessed

Everything was absolutely delicious!! This is Caribbean soul food at it's very best. Nothing pretentious about it, just great food prepared with love and care. I'll be back again soon and so will my friends, even though we live over an hour away. Bless y'all, and my deepest wishes for your success. ✌💜

This place has excellent food very friendly people. If you want to get a little bit different than the same thing then I recommend you try it. It was quite enjoyable for us and we will be going back again.

So good. We're not from here. Took a chance on something different, and it's was great. I got beef tips and cabbage. My husband got jerk chicken and cornbread. Definitely try this place. Great fast service as well! Can't wait to go back and try something different next time we're here.

Simma Down is a hidden jewel in Philadelphia MS. The curry chicken, beef tips, Mac n cheese, cornbread is awesome! The fried chicken is the best I’ve ever eaten hands down!! The owners are the kindest people you will ever meet!! The plates are huge portions and you will definitely not leave hungry!

I’ve never met a single person who has tasted this food utter anything but praise between bites (when they remember to breathe). To deny yourself Simma Down’s is a deliberate decision to live in mediocrity. Not only is the entire menu FIRE, but I dare someone to search for a more affordable plate that competes with their generous portions. The quality, quantity, and cost would be enough to cement this as my favorite restaurant already, but the vibe and service also meets no equal. If you can’t find happiness at Simma Down, it’s because you didn’t show up during business hours or the food sold out. Always fresh, always innovating…this place is alive.

Jamaica is definitely one of my favorite places to visit. I love the people, food and culture. When I heard that there was a Caribbean restaurant an hour away.. I said I would drive there to check it out. I must say..although I was physically in Mississippi, Simma Down took me to Jamaica 😁 The food is good ,Baker and his wife are very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely drive an hour again to eat good authentic Jamaican food.

Awesome good!! You should definitely try it out. My husband has tried it all and loved it. I've had the beef stew, Friday nights special, and it was amazing!

The food is cheap nice and much they serve for the pay.

Best Jamaican Restaurant In All Of Mississippi. Food Is Always Freshly Prepared. The Owners Are Amazing People. The Jerk Chicken Is My Favorite. I Highly Recommend Simma Down.

I rode 90 minutes to see what was going on...and I was impressed. Super nice people and great food. Stew chicken was magic. Also love that the menu is small, I reckon if you do what you doing well, you don't have to do a whole lot of it.

The vibes were unmatched and the food was divine. The food took me to another place! It’s definitely worth a detour if Philadelphia is not on your route!
