Lambert's Café

This is an AWESOME place. Very nostalgic & the guy throwing the bread rolls was so great! He had a fantastic aim! The food was unbelievably priced cheap for the amount you get. As soon as you are seated the server was quick to take drink order. They serve the drinks in a huge Lambert’s mug. Can’t see anyone needing a refill! Also they immediately come out announcing hot rolls & will throw them to you. Then they come around the tables with fried okra & place it on a paper towel on your table. You have to tell them to stop. After receiving your plates of food they come around with bowls of tomato & macaroni, blacked eyed with hog jowl, & fried potatoes. You can also take home cinnamon rolls. I was in awe of this place. If you are from the city this is definitely a place where you will learn southern style country eating! To my dismay there are only 3 in the USA.

Grate atmosphere and food. Be aware, not only do you get your two sides with your meal. They walk around with extra sides. Fried okra, fried potatoes, kidney beans, macaroni salad and always the tossed rolls the size of your hand! After you get your roll wait for the guy with the apple butter and sorghum molasses.

Such a great dining experience! My catfish plate tasted so great with mac n cheese and green beans for the sides. My husband recommends the hand breaded chicken tenders for another meal. We got offered many different sides during our whole meal. Of course the throwed rolls were the highlight of our meals!

Only go if you plan to eat a lot. There is so much free food that comes with your order. The portions are HUGE. I ordered a salad for $16-ish and it was ginormous. But on top of that, they give a lot of "pass arounds". Rolls (that they throw), potatoes, macaroni and tomatoes, fried okra. It all comes with your order and it's UNLIMITED.

Awesome place to stop by while on the road. Absolutely outstanding service, food, portions, and atmosphere. Endless free rolls and different sides. Cant recommend this place enough. Huge me u as well.

It was pretty busy but the food was 100% worth the wait. I dont usually eat a lot but I could not stop eating everything that came past our table! My husband and I got the beef sandwich and the ribs. SO GOOD! The rolls are so fluffy and warm! The server's aim that throw them is remarkably accurate, too! I had to roll myself out of there, and even 2 hrs later am thinking about the delicious potatoes and onions that came to our table 😋

Wow! What a fun place! The atmosphere was crackling with excitement… it was full.. and families looked like they were having an amazing time! The food was fantastic.. loved that some of the employees were walking around serving out fried potatoes and fried okra as extras…also.. can we talk about those rolls? Huge buttery, delicious rolls that can really be shared with two people… and they LITERALLY throw them to you! Please stop here and eat.. you won’t be disappointed.

I haven't been here in years, I forgot how great Lamberts really is. I will definitely visit each time I travel this way. Hell I might just make a special trip just so I can eat here. Our wait time was nothing and I server Tyler was great. Our food was spot on. The fried okra was warm & crunchy, the rolls were huge, fluffy & moist . My roast beef was heavily. All of this took me back to my growing up years. When food , life and family meant something. Thank you Lamberts 😊

What a fun place! Huge portions, well worth the price. We have driven by so many times and never stopped. So glad we did!

Absolutely fantastic dining experience! We had no idea what a Throwed roll was until we had one thrown at us!! The atmosphere was great so much to look at and experience while you wait for you food to arrive... they literally have someone go around the restaurant throwing rolls at everyone- AWESOME experience and the rolls are so warm and delicious and smell so good. Someone else comes around with apple butter and sorghum while another comes around with perfectly fried okra. And there are so many license plates to look at! There is an arcade area in back as well. The service was over the top!! And there are no words to describe how delicious my open faced roast beef sandwich was! This was probably the best roast beef I've ever had and I make a pretty dang good one myself! They also have a cute little gift shop and do sell their rolls to go as well. I can't wait to go back...

If you leave hungry it’s your own fault! Best home cooking! Great staff! Get ready to catch some rolls!

Want to have fun while getting great food? Go to Lambert's. Don't expect to get your dinner rolls on a plate with your meal. Instead, they will throw them at you. Between the meal, the huge rolls and pass arounds (extra side items that are offered with your meal), if you leave, still hungry, then it is your fault. You will have a good time and a good meal.

Really liked this restaurant. Super clean. The whole staff was very friendly. Food was very good. I recommend the chicken fried steak, it was huge. I love the rolls being thrown across the dinning room. The food they walk around serving while you are eating is very good also. If you haven't tried Lambert's you really need to go experience it.

We were here on the day of the eclipse. The staff handled hundreds of guests flocking in after the totality. They were accurate with estimated wait times, and it flowed pretty well. Once inside, our food was good and the service friendly. I rolled out of there stuffed and happy. My daughter caught her first roll! Highly recommended.

This is a must see and eat. Great food and great staff . Super inexpensive. 3 people under 60 bucks . Got a lot of great food

Lamberts is a family favorite of ours. We always make the trip to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and sometimes just to eat!! Any dish you get is going to fill you up & is delicious!! The staff and service is great!! The thrower rolls is always a hit & super fun to do while passing the time!! I definitely recommend making the trip to a Lamberts Cafe!!

Lambert's is always a fun dining experience. The food is divine, southern classics in huge proportions. And oh, the warm throwed rolls melt in your mouth. Perfect visit.

First time here! Absolutely loved it! The atmosphere, everything about this place is friendly. We took a ferry across the river to get there. And drive another hour. Definitely not disappointed!!! Best service I've ever had. The drinks were amazing. The food was even better. And the tossed rolls and molasses 💝 chefs kiss 💝 it was divine. Will be making that trip back or when we come through to go to st. Louis.

Stopped here on a Tuesday afternoon, not busy and the food was great. The chicken livers and gizzards were the best I ever had. $40 a night in the full hook up camp ground but the gravel lot in back is free if you are self contained.
This edit is about 3 weeks later 12-5-23 we stopped here again on our way south and food and service was excellent again. Little busier that the last time but a great stop. BBQ chicken special is huge and very good

Good food. Steak cooked great sides was good. Very busy but was seated within 20 mins. Friendly staff. The rolls fantastic hot the apple butter is legit. The free sides are good. But the potatoes and onions are the best thing they give crispy, hot, and seasoned great. It is expensive to eat but it's good eats. Parking is not bad. Overall, my experience is 5 stars. If they had a jam to offer with the rolls, it would be next level.
