Jay's Krispy Fried Chicken

I’d come back all the way from North Carolina to have this again. The coleslaw is on another level. For an impressive flavor contrast take a big lump of coleslaw, put it on the fried chicken, and take a bite. Gizzards were perfectly tender and the best I've had from a place. Usually I don't like them that much but these were great.

Spectacular little chicken joint. Hands down the best fried gizzard I've ever had. Barely any bite to them as opposed to the crispy fried bubblegum you get most places. The steak biscuit and 3 piece were great as well! Had the Mac and cheese, broccoli and cheese, and turnip greens and all were above average. Staff is friendly and the place isn't super modern but very clean. The prices are almost jaw-dropping in this day and age. Dad and I had lunch for under $20, as opposed to almost $20 each like normal. If you're in Sikeston and in the mood for chicken this place beats out the best of them. 11/10 MUST TRY

Don't let the outside fool you, this place is amazing!!! The fried chicken is some of the best I have ever had, biscuits are good and not dry, fried okra was hot and crispy. The prices are good, the staff are friendly and the sweet tea is so good! I will definitely be back!!!!!!

The chicken is always fresh and delicious. But the tables could have used a little cleaning. My guest and I had to use paper towels to clean it before sitting

I’ve had a hankering for some GOOD livers. Nobody around TN had any so I decided to stop here on the way to IN. HANDS DOWN BEST LIVERS IVE EVER ATE! My boys got the white meat dinners & they were so good also! Good slaw (Mayo not vinegar.. yay!) and mashed taters & gravy & okra were great! You can’t go wrong here. The ladies were nice and helpful also! I’ll be back for sure!!

We got breakfast here, and it was excellent, very cheap, with very generous portions.

This is the type of place that the old heads, and the youngins will like.

For sure the best fried chicken in this area and some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. It’s a hole in the wall not a whole lot of seating but I’m telling you if you like fried chicken it’s a must try. Excellent gizzards also.

Jay's chicken is the place to be if you are a chicken Lover! MMMgoooood!! All there food here is good. You can even dine in which I always do. Go in hungry and come out with a good fat full tummy!

New to us. Very busy which said it must be good. It did not disappoint. The chicken 🐔 and sides were very good. You may choose your own pieces and sides. The coleslaw was ummmm good! A bit of old time atmosphere.

If you go to Sikeston, this is one of the must try restaurants. It doesn't matter if it is breakfast or lunch. But if you go for breakfast, you better go early because you get A LOT. The chicken biscuit is HUGE!!! Hose twonitems come on 2 DIFFERENT plates. Here's how I do it.

I buy a chicken biscuit, hash browns, a large sweet tea AND get the jalapeno honey mustard (or whatever it is, it's AMAZING). I add some ketchup to the perfect hash browns and gobble away. Then I take the chicken off the biscuit and cut pieces of the chicken off and dip it into my sauce. Then once I am done with that, I add a pack of grape jelly to those flaky, fluffy biscuits and eat it as a breakfast dessert.

I love this place.

A humble building with amazing food! The fried chicken was especially delicious, and the biscuit was outstanding. I enjoyed the cold slaw and ham and beans, as well. We will be back!

Had a great breakfast of chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit. The workers are friendly, and food was ready fairly quick. The biscuit is definitely a must have.
