Wise County Veterans Memorial Museum

I was expecting your typical "read the plaque and look at pictures" museum, but this is so much better! Expect to be in a guided tour by a veteran, which was a great experience. I love for my sons to engage with history by those who lived it. I appreciate the opportunity for my kids to meet service members, hear their stories, and appreciate their service. We asked too many questions to make it ask the way through the museum, so we will need a second visit to view the other half.

There is no entry fee, but donations are appreciated.

My grandson really loved this place and keeps asking to go back, the gentleman that gave us a tour was so informative and took his time explaining everything to us. The displays were awesome and kept my 8 yr old grandsons attention through out the whole time we were there. Definitely going back soon.

It was an awesome experience. The pictures and the displays tell the story of what they did to fight for our freedom. The guide was a Vietnam veteran, and his stories and experiences made the tour even better.

My 12 year old autistic son and I really enjoyed our tour here. Very detailed and educational. I highly recommend this museum. Our history is being erased, so educate yourself and don't let it happen. Speak directly with the men and women who experienced it, here at this museum.

I was very impressed with the quality of the displays here and the breadth of the exhibits. The open hours are limited, but you will get a personal guided tour of all the exhibits. Military history is covered from the Texas revolution through present-day conflicts. A treasure trove of military artifacts, most donated by local veterans and their families.

A very emotional tour for me. The wife of Vietnam Veteran whom we lost due to agent orange. But the museum was awesome. Very well put together
