Live piano player who’s been there 40 years? Check. Open fire grilled steaks & chops featuring high grade meats? Check. Packed house w/lively atmosphere? Check. Essential basic baked potato & crisp salad sides? Check. Sharp, perfectly executed basic steak roadhouse just off the interstate but lost in the country. Been that way for many decades and nothings changed. If you want something edgy or trendy need to look elsewhere. Otherwise get a reservation. This place is popular.

It was our first time here and we will be back! Steaks are cooked on open grill and you can watch if your seated in that area. Service was excellent.

This hidden gem will surprise you! The food is fresh and top quality. On Wednesday's, they have an all-you-can-eat shrimp special, which is not on the menu. The choices include, fried, broiled or grilled shrimp and they are not those skimpy ones either. The homemade bread will get you in some trouble because it's very addicting! I don't care for the dim atmosphere inside the restaurant, so I try to sit near a window. When you go, ask for JJ, he's the best server ever!

I went to the Possum Trot on New Year's Eve to celebrate the piano player's 40th NYE playing. Despite a full house, the service was very timely, the servers were friendly and the stuffed tilapia was delicious. Of course, the live music was outstanding!

We came here for dinner to celebrate Chinese New Year. The service is good and so is the food. I like the blackened chicken pasta the most. The restaurant a hidden gem in central Illinois.

A hidden gem! Terrific food, service and loved the grill being out where you could watch your steak, pork chops, chicken and more being prepared to perfection. Their prices are low compared to most steaks houses too. Will definitely be back soon.

This was my first time there, and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere was wonderful. They even had a piano player. It was Mother's Day, and we were able to get right in without a reservation. Didn't even have to wait for a table. We will definitely be going back.

Went for my birthday. Food was exquisite, service was outstanding. I have never had a bad experience here

Good value for family meal. Came with selection of five meats, fries and family salad. Fries were a little soggy from carry out but were still great. Burnt ends are delicious!

Wonderful early evening dinner. Wine was cold, appetizers delicious, and our server was very friendly. Dinner was paced perfectly to allow us to enjoy everything. Steak and seafood entrees were perfect Loved it again!

A regular steak place for us. Great atmosphere and staff. Owners visit with the people. Piano man plays requests. You can watch your steak being prepared over the grill. Best drinks around. Plenty of parking. Large portions of food. You have to try Possum Trot.

You won't go hungry on the double cut pork chop! You have to be a fan of blue cheese though. Great dining atmosphere.

I was there for a wedding rehearsal dinner. The food and service was on point. Got the petite filet mignon (cooked perfectly to medium rare) and baked potatoe. Meal came with a healthy salad to offset the tasty fresh bread that arrived before the meal. Great experience as usual.
