Scapes Cafe

I visited Scapes this morning with one of my friends and I absolutely loved it! I had The Garden dish for breakfast, which was yummy paired with slices of fresh-baked sourdough bread. The cafe itself is lovely, with a clean and cozy interior and a view of the lake.
The staff there was incredibly nice and, living in a small town, the restaurant was full of familiar faces. There's a lot of indoor seating, many of which are by power outlets, and I can absolutely see myself tucking into the cafe for a few hours to study.
I 100% plan to go here again. Scapes is a hidden gem and the third place our area desperately needs. It's a bit remote, yes, but well worth the drive.

Such friendly service and welcoming atmosphere. Food is top notch-- super fresh and delicious. And the Speckled Ax coffee is sooo tasty. The space also offers great views of the lake and outdoor seating. It's the best!

A very quaint cafe to enjoy a coffee, a view, and some great food! The corned beef dish was delicious, and the eggs were perfect! The staff were very welcoming, and helpful. I look forward to my next visit

Wow! Such a wonderful spot right on the main drag in Mt. Vernon! This beautiful and welcoming Cafe was such a fun and fulfilling experience. I have a camp nearby and Vienna and I'm so grateful that Scapes is now an option for friends and family to meet and enjoy. The food was so good, everything delicious, the breakfast sandwich, the omelet, and the cinnamon bun! Fresh ingredients, some of them local (if not most). Love the speckled ax coffee! And the staff was so kind and welcoming, they really made the atmosphere special. Can't wait to return, really love this gem.

Really awesome little cafe producing simple, but high quality fare! Stopped in during a trip from Boston and was impressed with the food, service, and overall price of this spot. I later learned this location opened recently. These folks are doing it right with a great young energetic crew! Bravo!

We've been seeing the posts for this place for a while and we finally had an opportunity to try it out today. We were a little all over the place and my kids were more feral than usual but the staff was still very nice and even made my picky eater something special. We thought everything was delicious and bought some goodies to take home too. The space itself is really cute with a lot of fun touches like handkerchief napkins and mason jars with a water spicket. Nicely overlooking the lake so could we see the ice fishing. Just an A+ experience all around. We just got a cabin in the area so we're looking forward to more visits!

We have no idea how they do it, but everything we've had their during our first few visits has been absolutely on-point and delicious. The turkey club sandwich, cinnamon swirl French toast, corned beef hash, ETC., have all been perfectly prepared and had us chatting non-stop as to how good everything is, as we were eating it.

All cafes should shoot for this level of excellence and consistency.

My favorite cafe around. Sarah and her team are freaking awesome. Quaint, delicious food, and great lakefront views. So grateful to have this place close to home. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! You won’t be disappointed :)

We absolutely love the food,atmosphere, and all of the wonderful people who work there. Sarah has made scapes feel like home. Everything is made fresh and with love. Sarah has put her heart and sole into scapes and it shows in everything served there. So thankful to have this amazing Cafe in our community.

Few Cafes seem to be able to nourish the appetite as well as the visual appetite however Scapes does it all!
Great food made from scratch, beautiful sceneries to look out on & wonderful service. The owner & her staff are friendly & efficient.
The place is clean, tidy & has comfy sitting arrangements whether you are inside or dining outside.
I highly recommend giving this place a try when you're in this small village or just passing through to the bigger city.

Fantastic food. Great coffee. And the staff is second to none. Honestly, Scapes is our favorite part of being in Mt. Vernon.

Scapes has a super cool vibe, with great lakeside views. it is very welcoming and the service is awesome. The whole staff is welcoming. The food is delish and a great place to get a coffee.

Don't miss this sweet cafe tucked away in picturesque Mount Vernon right on the water. Bakery selections alone are worth a stop. Hot food is delicious! We had the Breakfast BLT on sourdough, scone, fruit cup, and baked blackberry French toast. Everything was delicious. We'll be back!

The hidden gem!! This place exceeds ALL expectations! Classy and clean with the best “from scratch” food north of Boston, zero exaggerations. Impossible to get any kind of disappointment from this establishment. If you don’t give it a try, you are missing out. 💯

I purchased the calamata olive and rosemary sandwich bread and it was awesome as a bread but warmed with a killer dipping oil a friend of mine made and it was delicious like that as well.

Outstanding new eatery. Had a Reuben and a cup of smoked salmon chowder, while the wife enjoyed the quiche of the day. Outstanding on all fronts. So happy to see this place resurrected!!

With a new ownership Sarah has brought this cafe is thriving and it's definitely a destination for good food. If you're on the way to ski it's right on route 41 in Mount Vernon.

Busy lunch crowd...ordered 2 turkey clubs (one in gf wrap) and a cup of carrot ginger soup. The Cole slaw was fantastic, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the rosemary mayo was a delight. Knowing they have only been open for a week, our 30 minute wait to be served was completely understandable...and the food was absolutely worth the wait. We will 100% be back.
