D's Base Camp

The owners are awesome. Lots of space for sleeping. Having two bathrooms in the cabin we stayed at was very convenient. Plenty of hot water. The kitchen is stocked with basic items so you can cook full meals. There is heat and window air conditioners if needed. The location is within 20 minutes of Houghton and a short drive to Agate Beach. It's a beautiful area.

This is our third time renting a cabin and my family and I love it. It is conveniently located off of a highway which is great for traveling the area. The cabins are clean, cozy, and well stocked with kitchen utensils amongst other conveniences. Don and Donna are very kind people and I love the no fuss booking and checking in and out. We'll be back next year!

This place is awesome. Right on the trails. Super campground. Huge parking for trailers. Very friendly host.

The rooms were clean and had a home like atmoshere. We had the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Don was very nice and even let us use some tools to try and fix our friends motorcycle. Just down the street is the Mosquito bar and grill and they had good food. Great place to stay for a big group.

What a great place to stay for a snowmobile weekend. It easily accommodated our large group with the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It includes a full kitchen so you can cook up your breakfast to get your day started and a pizza oven to finish off the night with a pizza. Donna was great to help set up our reservation and helped us with your late check in. The place was clean with plenty of fresh towels. Just bring your own coffee, shampoo and soap.

Had a great stay at D's Base Camp. Right on the trail making it very convenient. It is also close to gas and food in South Range. And only a 1/2 from Houghton with the SXS.

The owners were very helpful when booking and had the cabin/suite all ready for us when we arrived. Very neat and clean, all instructions for trash, laundry, etc were clearly communicated.

Always excellent little cabins that are reasonable priced and great owners. They let us use their dryer after we got done snowmobiling in freezing rain.

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a no frills facility that will house a large number of people. There is large building that had two separate facilities that can be rented, and they have areas to camp and to hook up campers. The area of the building we stayed in has three bedrooms and two full baths (one of the bathrooms is handicap accessible). The bedrooms all have at least three beds, one double, and two twins. Great location for seeing all that the Copper Country has to offer. 20 min from the Walmart in Houghton, and an hour from Lake of the Clouds. Not a fancy place, but very clean and well cared for.

What an amazing place to call home while snowmobiling in the UP. Perfect set up right off the trail. Even Annabelle liked it 😆

Wonderful accommodation. Plenty of room for our large snowmobile group. Great place to sleep after a long day.

Personally I like accommodations with a refrigerator and a stove because it makes the place seem more like a home. All their rooms have TWO bathrooms!!! How awesome is that?
They had free WiFi and satellite TV. They had a campfire pit set up with benches and a couple of cushioned chairs around it. There was a separate building with a sauna and behind that were some hookups if you were traveling with an RV or trailer. There was a pet walking area that looked like a little trail into the woods.
Wal-Mart wasn't too far away and we picked up some eggs and hot dogs to cook up. They had a coffee maker, microwave and a toaster. Dishes, pots, pans and mugs were provided too, but be prepared to wash the dishes by hand :)
Donna and her husband were great with travel information. They mentioned that you can do half the U.P. in day trips from their location. If you're looking to explore the area this is a great place to stay.

Very clean and very cozy, the sauna is a nice relaxing time. Proprietors are very helpful and accommodating to all our needs for the week.
