Lake County Road Commission Garage

Not sure of the gentleman‘s name I spoke with however I called regarding questions on the topography of a specific road as I was concerned about being able to tow a camper through the area. He was incredibly helpful as it seemed he knew the road quite well. Huge help for me as I don’t live local. He also offered up another contact at MDOT regarding other options.

Called Lake County Road Commission about a dead deer on the shoulder of the road in front of my home. Was told there was nothing they could do about it unless it was in the road. They suggested I haul it into the woods myself! I’m an elderly widow and have no way of doing that. It’s rotting, stinking and filled with flies. My only hope is for the birds and coyotes to eat it soon. Pretty sad.

Lake county is robbing the public, to buy a permit from them they charge way more then any one. Example: State of Michigan blanket permit for ALL State trunk lines is only 47.00 , all other county’s is 100.00 for there Blanket permit. Lake county charges 300.00 no matter if your going to move a wide load just one time or multiple times. I recommend to just take your chance and run into that county and if stopped for no permit just pay the ticket. It’s sad when they rob the people trying to do the legal way. The cost of there permit just makes it so people take the chance and run illegal. Lower the price of your blanket permits like all the other counties ( stop robbing the public )

I am very upset with the clearing of Lake County roads during the last snow storm on the 16th of Dec. If should not take 4 days and a call to get our road clear. Was very hard to maneuver to m37. We pay our taxes so what is wrong with the clearing of our roads in a timely manner

They don't maintain the roads properly.

They're snow plowing ability is inefficient!
