Cute country cafe with breakfast, soup and sandwiches on the menu. Easy to miss if you're not actually looking for it (and despite a huge sign by the road) but worth looking for! The sandwiches are good sized and the breakfasts are served all day. I wasn't able to experience the bar upstairs though I did get a photo. 😊 I did not get a street view photo or a shot of the front of the building but they offer outdoor dining which was nice on this beautiful day! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Luckily I came by on the night that their specials were Mexican themed, although I've heard that their regular menu is great. I will be back to try their burgers and pizzas. Great beer selection. Will also have to come on a night with live music.

The fish stew was excellent! Local place with local folks and local eats. The cook was doing everything in front of us and chatting us up while he made our meal, it was a relaxing and quiet spot for lunch

First time enjoying The Common Cafe and found it to be very nice. The staff was welcoming, the food and drinks were terrific, all in all, a place a little off the beaten path that we'll be sure to visit again!

The entire experience was amazing. We ate at the Tavern upstairs last night. My first impression was of the decor upstairs. Rustic live edge siding on the ceiling, old oil or gas lamps, lots of local art hung on the walls.

The staff were friendly, attentive, well groomed, clean and for the most part smiling whenever I glanced around.

The patrons we're of varied age. It did not appear that the place left anyone feeling unwelcome. Definitely family friendly.

We found the place as guests of friends who had received a recommendation from their friends. Word of mouth is abuzz about the tavern.

Last night there there was live music and the band was very good. Bluesy, a bit or Rock and even some Zydeco influence. Upbeat and entertaining.

We are in town for a mini vacation, and we went there twice! The quiche is ridiculously good, and the pancakes are home made and served with real maple syrup. The coffee is excellent as well, and the baked goods look really good. We will definitely come back!

The breakfast and atmosphere here is great. I generally eat here every weekend that I got climbing. The blueberry pancakes are one of the best. The crepes likewise are enjoyable. You may want to get here early during the climbing season or find yourself waiting as it is no secret where the climbers go for food.

We showed up a little close to closing and were just going to grab a home made muffin and coffee for the ride back to Portsmouth. But when we saw the Portuguese sausage sandwich we asked if it was too late to order and they were more than happy to make it up for us. The fresh baked goods and the simple but eclectic breakfast menu really made for an excellent experience. Good service, good food in a quaint New England town.

Spent a weekend in beautiful Rumney NH and this wonderful Cafe and Tavern was was a short walk away. Friendly staff and delicious food. By far the best Buffalo Chicken Dip I've ever had. They also had live music the night we went to the Tavern.

Picked the Common Cafe & Tavern on a whim coming back from a day of skiing. Looking to fill our bellies with some pub fare, we were more than pleased with our "find". Our table of 7 was primarily kids. We fit right in from the moment the door opened. Not a hushed environment and they were occupied spying the eclectic atmosphere noming on popcorn while we enjoyed a coffee porter on tap waiting for our eats. Between the menu and specials we felt there was more than enough to please. The changing dessert list and the whole cafe will have us coming back soon for more. Lots of smiles here:) Support this local gem.

Great stop after Mt Mousilaukee. Ended up going with a burger and potato slices, which were fantastic, but it was awfully tough choosing between all the great stuff on the menu. Can’t wait to go back and will certainly be making this a regular stop when in the area.

Didn’t sit upstairs but it was Friday and they had live music going. Sounded great and seemed like a good so that’ll be on my list too!

We were on our way to Plymouth and our cell service kicked in right before Rumney so we found this little gem on Google and stopped for lunch. The cafe was charming and had a dog friendly outside porch.
My fiance had the Reuben panini on marbled rye and it was delicious. I had the Cuke dill chicken salad wrap and it was disappointing. They use a whole chicken breast but it was tough and overcooked. There were thick slices of cucs in the wrap which made it hard to eat. I should have spoken to the person cooking. She was friendly and certainly would have done something to make it better.
Everything on the menu and specials board looked good. If we lived nearby we would certainly be frequent customers. The menu calls the Common Cafe and Tavern "New Hampshire's Best Kept Secret" and I can see why.

Great place! Good food and reasonable prices, a cheerful owner and friendly staff, good live music every weekend with an Open Mic night on Wednesdays, and a friendly crowd make it worth a ride to the Rumney NH town common. C'mon in, it's a comfy, quaint and fun place!

This place is a hidden gem. My girlfriend and I frequent this spot for the cafe AND the tavern. Excellent breakfast and coffee in the morning transitions into a lively music spot with great beers and food in the evening. Highly recommended.
