Iversen Inn

We were traveling Christmas eve and hit a snow storm and needed a place to stay last minute. They were very nice and got us room. Great family owned business.

I have stayed here many times over the years - first with Dan Iverson then with Holly Ireland when she took over. Nothing but positive experiences. Holly is very nice. The rooms are clean and affordable. I don't need fancy - I want clean and convenient, and this meets my needs.

Dated, but one of the cleanest rooms we've seen.
Dan is the best host ever.
I got a call from Dan the day after we checked out saying that he found a tee shirt and a phone charger we left in the room and asking if we'd like him to mail them back to us.

I have only one other time ever left a review on a hotel in 30+ years of traveling. I was completely blown away at the friendliness of Dan, the owner, who greeted me when I drove in and showed me my room. It was impeccably clean and the bed was excellent! Everything about the room was excellent! My cold stuff all fit in the fridge & I was able to make my breakfast in the morning in the microwave and had a delicious cup of coffee. I was looking for a nice place to sleep for one night as I was traveling through and was not looking for pool/workout amenities and this was the absolute Perfect place! I will return and will share with anyone traveling through South Dakota where they need to stop for the night! Thank you Dan!

This was the first time I ever stayed at this hotel and I was on a budget so I didn't expect too much but I was pleasantly supposed that the room was like staying at a country bed and breakfast without the breakfast. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and the WiFi was great. It's a big bang for your buck and I highly recommend this hotel to everyone traveling in this area it has the other hotels that charge 2 and 3 times as much beat hands down.

This is a great place to stay! So great, in fact we booked it for our trip home too. The room is cozy and very clean! The owner has a great sense of humor and is so sweet. He let me see the room without even asking. When we called for our return trip he said he would wait up for us since it would be past closing. This is a hidden gem!

I love this little motel! From the phone call booking it until check out it was great. Friendly, helpful, kind, gentleman and just a sweet soul of a man who runs it and I believe owns it. Hospitality from him was so nice. He cleans the rooms himself. (Don’t forget to leave a tip for him in your room.) he was a blessing to us. Also the price was great. My mother and I traveled the second weekend of June with our dogs. We stayed in a pet friendly room that had two beds. One of the cleanest places I have stayed in my travels. Safe. Quiet. Clean. Comfortable. Very accommodating. I will stay here again if I am in the area and need a place to stay. Great breakfast served across the street at a local cafe that was really good. Easy to find. I give it 5 stars for sure! Look forward to another stay!

The hotel rooms are small but clean & comfortable with great TV reception, free WI-FI & a bag of ice!! The price is very economical as well. Holly the new owner is so sweet & goes above & beyond to take care of your needs.

Excellent value. Hidden gem. One of the cleanest places I've ever stayed. Especially for the age of the place. Things are very well maintained. The owner was very accommodating and even helped with a last minute switch so I could bring my elderly dog along when I found out he was very ill and I would only have him a short time longer. I am so grateful for the owner's kindness. He also checked with us frequently to make sure we were comfy. And speaking of comfy... The beds were so nice. The rooms are small and no frills, but yes, very comfortable! Clean, simple rooms at a reasonable price. Highly recommend! Five stars!

Such a GREAT value!!! It's super clean, bed was comfortable, good water pressure, and nice, hot water! It had a 4 cup coffee maker, Microwave, fridge. It was very quiet and comfy. The owner is so kind and helpful!

Hey everybody if you need a place to stay in town, this is your place to go. One you stay here you'll see exactly why. Dan runs the place like a dream and appreciates your business. The best motel we’ve been in thus far! Very clean, affordable, and with delightful service. Exterior is very cool, and decor inside was tasteful and pleasant. Would definitely recommend for thrifty travelers.

This was such a nostalgic little place. We were coming back from Glacier National Park and headed back home to Illinois when we needed a place to stay for the nignt. All the previous reviews were spot on. The owner does it all and really cared about our stay and making certain we were comfortable. If you’re coming in late just make certain you’re aware that you’re making him stay up longer from being able to go to sleep. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean. We would definitely stay again if we are ever in thr area. We walked across the street and had breakfast the next morning before finishing our drive back home. Support local!

Nice, clean hotel. The owner was was wonderful and got us a last minute room for the night. He even came to our rescue to kill a wasp that thought it planned on sharing our room! Nice hot water, good shower pressure, coffee pot, mini fridge, microwave. Its definitely an older building, but you can tell the owner has taken measures to keep it comfortable, safe, and clean. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Dan is so kind! We had the best stay here. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy and just the vibes from the place were so good. Would stay here again, and invite others to stay if they are ever traveling though SD.

Great place to stay. Great service. Very clean. Locally owned.
When I called I believe it was the owner who answered. He said he would wait up for us to get there because the close at 11pm. He was very kind. He cares about his tenants and asked us to stay quite because everyone had already settled down for the night. The room was not large but it was very clean and was exactly what we needed. Water gets hot very fast and you have to be careful not to burn yourself. The owner warned us of this so it wasn't a surprise. Definitely recommend, especially if you want to support local business.

Owner is very personable and helpful, motel is older but is updated yet still charming. My room was immaculate, very very clean, a bit small, but warm and cozy. A really nice find, reasonable rates and they allowed my German Shepherd.

All motels/hotels should be exactly like this. All owners should be exactly like Mr. Iversen, and the traveling world would be perfect. I've been in hospitals that weren't as clean as the Iversen Inn. The room was spacious and cozy at the same time, the pillows and bed were nice, and the entire operation was very green, including the choice of bath items, great soaps!
A bit of small town Americana that sadly is missing from most of our everyday travels these days.
And the Palm Trees!!!! What a delightful touch in the middle of South Dakota.

Very clean! Basic room, no fancy amenities - exactly what we wanted. I would like to give it 4 and 3/4 stars because the parking for #5 is a bad situation... We got parked in by the neighbors... And the shower will not maintain a consistent temperature... But for the money, it was a pretty darn good deal! Plus the owner is a really nice and helpful guy... Our stay was good and would love to stay again!

A very clean quaint place. Retro 50"s style but very clean. The manager was very accommodating. I was arriving a little late and he stayed in office till I arrived. Let me check the room before paying. I had one small dog with me which is my baby and he took the the time to greet her and make both of us feel welcome. Nice little town. Went on walk in early morning. I hope to stay there again within the next week due to tracing again. Bed was very comfortable. I would recommend
