Full Moon Farm Medusa, NY

I rented with a friend over Labor Day Weekend. The house is beautifully designed and kept, and the owner is accommodating, fair, and gracious. I truly felt like I was in a home away from home, with plenty of kitchenware for a happy chef (read: this happy reviewer). There's nothing like having meals and coffee on the porch with sweeping views of the nearby lake with dazzling sunsets to make one say, "ahhh..." The owner gave fantastic recommendations of nearby spots, and a day's jaunt driving around the mountains procured plenty of delicious local produce and poultry to craft in the beautiful butcher-blocked kitchen. I will definitely be renting again; Full Moon Farm provided a perfectly relaxed respite from The City. I look forward to visiting soon!

My church group spent Labor Day weekend at Full Moon Farm and had a lovely, memorable stay. Most importantly, owner was a pleasure to coordinate with - incredibly accommodating, flexible, accessible and warm. The surrounding area has a lot to offer; visitors can hike to Kaaterskill Falls, explore quaint towns and shops, or visit nearby historic sites. Despite all the attractions, our group had a difficult time actually leaving the house - the house is beautiful, relaxing, and well suited for large groups. I plan to return to Full Moon Farm as soon as the opportunity arises.

We had our wedding here in May 2012, and it was an absolutely wonderful place for a relaxing, rustic celebration. The barn is gorgeous original wood from the 1790s; the garden and grounds are very pretty and beautifully planted without every feeling too manicured or precious; and the house on the property (which we rented separately for us & some family to stay during the wedding weekend) is lovely. Angela is an absolute pleasure to work with; she had great ideas & helpful vendor recommendations throughout the planning process, and left lovely welcoming touches for us (including remembering that we liked her iced espresso when we came to see the site, and when we arrived for the wedding weekend there was a pot of it waiting for us in the fridge - so sweet!). And she even got a bonfire permit so we could have a bonfire after, and built a little fire-starting teepee for us. Barn weddings definitely take some planning - you'll need to arrange toilet trailers, a cook tent for your caterer, a generator, etc., and all of that should obviously be taken into consideration in your budgeting (personally, I definitely underestimated how much those things would add up) - but at such a beautiful place the results are magical. It was the perfect place to celebrate and all of our friends and family have been raving about how beautiful everything looked. A wonderful place & I would highly recommend it.

We have rented from Angela twice. Once for a weekend with family and another with friends and their kids. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both times. It is the perfect place to enjoy fall in New York. And our dog loved it too.
