My co worker & I stopped in for lunch. We aren’t from this town, but we were hungry & when I went inside, I felt under dressed because we were working across the street & we are carpenters. But the waitress was very kind & the staff made us feel comfortable. Food was very good. Seemed like a great place & deserved a review.

We had “the beginnings” cheese board and it was amazing!!! Complete with fresh honeycomb, red pepper jelly, and salami. Delicious! Service was great and gracious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I am Brazilian and I have been traveling to USA since 2015. I want to say that was the FIRST time that I LOVED the food and service after so many places that I visited.
I had the chance for to try the genuine american food; the american cousine. The staffs are so friendly!

The restaurant is beautiful and in the region there's other pretty restaurants however the food is ''ok''.

So... Yeah... that's the place for a REALLY good food.

Stopped for lunch but they only have cheese boards till 4pm. We decided to try a pick 5 cheese board and were very pleased. My favorite was the Kunik. Also hard salami and bread and fruit. They also allowed us to sample the carrot soup which we both enjoyed. Rachel and the other wait staff were friendly and helpful with our choices.
Cheeses are made on site. We purchased two of our choices at the cheese shop.

6 of us stopped in on our way through town, the service was amazing! A huge plus is that the restaurant and gift shop allows dogs. They even have a small dog-friendly food menu and my dog was able to eat, even with his dietary restriction:) thank y’all!

The Hitching Post hosted my sons wedding 8/5/23. They did an incredible job helping set up the restaurant the way my son & his wife wanted it. The food we chose was absolutely amazing, the appetizers and cheese board were beautiful and tasty. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive.
They stayed late so we could set up and were there for every question or need. I can't thank them enough for everything. Highly recommend!!

The server was patient and kind with our rambunctious children. We had the beginner’s cheeseboard which was delicious but I wish there were a little more crackers to go with the cheese. The chicken pot pie and the fish and chips were good. We also got the poutine and that was delicious as well.

We love the Hitching Post! The staff is always helpful and friendly. The food is great & we love the variety of charcuterie boards.

This place is AMAZING. Everyone is super knowledgeable about the cheeses and they have a shop attached filled with different items that go perfectly with cheeses. It is hard to choose what to get to eat at the restaurant because everything sounds so good!

The staff at The Hitching Post are incredibly hospitable and were able to accommodate our large group (and dog) that wanted to eat outside. Well worth an hour+ drive for the cheese boards and wine. The shop is great and we always stock up on their cheese when we're in the area.

Went on a Wednesday for lunch and everything was delicious. The habanero peach cheese is the best. Our server, Elvin (?) - I wish I could remember his name, but he was really kind and attentive. Will definitely go back when I’m in the area again. Luckily my family lives nearby!

Just had lunch with my daughter, her husband, and grandson. Wonderful food and plenty of it . . . and a fabulous waitstaff led by Katie her sister, Sarah, and friend Annabel. I might be a bit prejudiced as Katie and Sarah are my granddaughters!

The new owners kept the basic decor I remember from when a teenager, but the offerings are new. My sister and I had dinner and it was great. I had the steak medallions which may have been filet since they were so tender and perfectly cooked. She had the maple glazed short ribs which were also tasty. the sides- garlic mashies and roasted root veggies were good and the poratoes were a large serving. They have a simply lovely cheese and relish board on which they were highlighting their award winning Adiron-Jack cheese- I bought a round to take home along with a jar if Quince and cranberry jam. With all the pre dinner goodies we only ate half the meal there! The server Elvin(sp?) was very attentive, kept our water carafe full, brought us a cheese sampling when he felt our dinner was taking too long and brought the dessert menu without being asked. Unfortunately the dessert we wanted they were out of, but there will be a next time.... there is a full bar and the gift shop has all kinds of yummy cheese, toppings, condiments and even meats from Oscar's smokehouse. This place is a gem! Delicious cheese boards and dishes incorporating their cheeses. Everything is fresh! They patronize local breweries and vineyards, which is great. The restaurant itself looks like history but is very cozy and unique. The staff is great and knowledgeable.

Wonderful customer service, cute dining area. & my goodness the food sure did hit the spot. Everything we got was fantastic! Their sodas, delicious! I can't wait to go back again!

Travel back in time to the 40's... Great food, wine, beer selections. Cheese is award winning and rightfully so. Must try all of them. Wednesday there's a cheese board appetizer that is amazing. Must must must visit in the ADK's.
