Nettle Meadow Artisan Cheese - Plant, Tasting Room and Store

We came here for the first time recently and dined in for lunch. We arrived about 12 minutes before lunch service started, but the waitress sat us right away. The restaurant is clean with a rustic, homey feel. We ordered the Buckaroo sandwich with the sugarloaf cow’s milk cheese instead of the horseradish chèvre it comes with. We also got the Gun Slinger sandwich with french fries as well as a large sample of the sugarloaf. We enjoyed everything, especially the sugarloaf. It’s a soft cheese but a nice alternative to goat’s milk cheese if you aren’t a fan of that (like me). The only cons during our visit here are the service was a bit slow (I think staffing was limited the day we were there) and the lunch menu is limited to just the cheeseboards, savory bites, and hot panini sandwiches sections of the menu found on the website. For dinner service, the full menu is offered, so I’d definitely return for dinner here again. We also stopped by the cheese shop and gift store on the other side of the restaurant. It’s a cute little shop with a little bit of everything— a small selection of Nettle Meadow cheeses, of course, as well as locally made jams, nuts, maple sugar products, chocolate, dog and cat treats, and more. You can also check out their cheese making viewing room, which we didn’t go into while we were there, but sounds like a fun experience. I’d definitely recommend stopping in here for a peek and a bite to eat.

What a fun place! We loved the cheese board, the gift shop, and stopped by the next day for lunch. Everything was delicious. Chicken pot pie and cheaper pie served in crock, smaller portion, but delicious nonetheless. Service was great too; our bartender and server (same both visits) was excited, passionate, knowledgeable, and we felt like he LOVED his job and the place. Good deal!

I went to the restaurant/bar with my wife, sister and and brother-in-law. We all enjoyed the food and the entertainment. The vintage log building is quite unique providing a relaxing atmosphere. It was really fun! We returned the next day and left with several cheeses all of which were fantastic. If in the Lake George area,don’t miss Nettle Meadow at the Hitching Post.

Just a few miles from the trail head so we stopped for a snack. I ordered cheeseboard for one. My wife had the artichoke dip.

The board had a variety of things like nuts, dates, bread, etc and of course their classic cheese
Rehydration was perfect with local craft beer.

Wow! We're long-time fans of Nettle Meadow cheeses. And love visiting their farm. Love what they are doing with this retail location. Big selection of all their cheeses, plus a variety of other locally-produced products, and imported pastas and olive oils. It's a worth a visit just for the cheese, though. Can't wait for the tavern and tasting room!

I've tasted many different cheeses from here and they all are great. Goat cheese let's me have cheese with being lactose intolerant. Staff is very friendly. Haven't tried the food but will be trying soon. Thank you for bringing something unique to our area

My husband and I stopped there to check it out on our way home. Let me just say we will be going back. The cheeses that we got had amazing flavors and were so creamy. Check it out well worth the trip.

Wonderful store. They offer cheese, local artisans works of Art, sewing items, handmade balsam pillows, quilted items, beautiful "local" handmade jewelry. Local jams. It's worth the drive.

This cheese 🧀 shop is by far the best one in the entire area...The staff are wonderful and very accommodating...I tried the Prospect Mountain 🏔 Cheese and it was sooo creamy and mmm mmm good... It's a must stop and get your cheese's here kinda place... Tell em Willy sent ya .. Enjoy

The most delicious cheese!

I enjoy their goat cheese, especially the fig and honey. They have many different flavors, and some products made with cow's milk. They also have items from other local businesses, such as chocolate. The restaurant is not open yet, but will certainly try it when open. They also have a farm sanctuary further north, check out the website

Not sure, I didn't go in. My daughter and her husband went in and got a cheese spread that was awesome.
