My primary doctor sent me to Dr. Berkowitz because I don't think he understands or trusts chiropractors. Dr. Berkowitz actually sends his non-surgical patients to my chiropractor, Dr. Salvatore Tocco. He looked at my x-rays and asked me why I was there, since I was seeing Dr. Tocco. He was very kind and gave me the same advice to continue seeing the chiropractor because I was not a candidate for surgery. I would definitely recommend him.

Wonderful doctor. You can tell he's very knowledgeable and knows exactly what he is doing and needs to do. My back turned out wonderful no problems had a multi-fusion I am 4 months out from surgery and doing wonderful. He is a great doctor

Dr. Berkowitz and his amazing team are the very best! Before surgery, I could only walk about a quarter of a mile and failing physical therapy. Before my first follow-up appointment I could walk one mile. I am one happy patient.

Dr Berkowitz was knowledgeable, talented, efficient, pragmatic and approachable. Things were explained to me thoroughly. My concerns were heard and addressed. He also helped to correct or improve a lifetime of damage (and prior surgeries) to my spine. His support team were equally easy to work with and knowledgeable. If anything he under-promised and over-delivered. As I told Dr. Berkowitz, I no longer need to get into the crash position to sneeze.

Dr Berkowitz has changed the trajectory of my life. Although only 2 weeks out from back surgery I can already extend my walking unlike before surgery. His knowledge and surgical skills have resulted in a great outcome, and I anticipate continued improvement as I progress through the recovery period.

Dr. Berkowitz (not related to son of Sam) is the absolute best at what he does. He dug me out of a VA induced medical hole and was straight forward as well as actually listened to what my symptoms were. Highly recommended!

I came to Dr. Berkowitz for a second opinion. If anything, I needed someone to listen and take the time to explain what options are out there for me to find some relief and just not write me off. He did just that. He was compassionate and thorough with my appointments. In the future, I know I would be able to entrust him with my care.

Dr.Berkowitz was excellent at communicating what my surgery would entail. He also helped me make decisions on when to have the surgery that worked with vacation plans I had made. My surgery went well. He and his staff are excellent.

Dr. Berkowitz was very thorough. He explain what he was doing to the tee. I took a good referral from somebody else who had back surgery. He did my lower back and did an excellent job. No complaints.

I have struggled with lower back pain for 2 decades. I was told I needed surgery a few times over the years. I was very cautious on who would do my surgery and where I would have it done. I finally agreed with my primary care that I needed surgery. I researched doctors and institutions for months before making any calls. Dr. Berkowitz was rated the best and highly recommended by others. I couldn't be happier with choosing Dr. Berkowitz. He treated me with respect and actually cared about me and my health. The surgery went as planned and I'm finally able to live life without numbness and pain. I honestly couldn't recommend anyone but Dr. Berkowitz!!

Dr Berkowitz performed a very large successful surgery straightening a curvature in my back and fusing three vertebrae. He has given me back my quality of life relieving pain and numbness in my back and legs. I would recommend Dr Berkowitz to everyone suffering with back pain and numbness. I was so afraid to have surgery however he explained everything so I could understand. He does not sugar coat anything which I appreciate. He has been very thorough in my post op treatment. I am very thankful he was the doctor that did my surgery.

I was referred to Dr. Berkowitz by one of his colleagues. While I was a bit hesitant to see him at first, I'm glad I went. Him, his PA and his secretary are all amazing! They all listened to my concerns/issues, did the necessary testing to figure out the issue, which turned out to be I needed a cervical fusion. While Dr. B can be a little arrogant, he really took the time with my case to cover all bases as my case was unique to him as I have EDS. As a nurse and a patient that means a lot for a Dr to think outside the box and make sure they have all their ducks in a row before going into surgery. I would 100% trust him and his team should I need anything else surgical done with my spine in the future.

Very thorough in explaining things. Able to put things in layman's terms. Would like to have seen him in person while recovering in the hospital rather than having his coworkers making the rounds for him. I'm a little concerned about the small bubble that has shown up on my incision 7 weeks after the surgery (see attached photo). Wasn't there two weeks earlier. Have been monitoring it very closely since and has shown little change. No pain and no drainage.

Very thorough. I am doing 100% better than anybody on the YouTube videos. My pain level is zero and I still have months to go for the fusion to grow. I am so pleased I am highly recommending him to anybody that has told me they have back problems. I was very scared but not willing to live with the pain anymore so he made me feel that he was very confident Which helped in the decision to get it done & over with. I feel I am extremely lucky with selecting him as my doctor.

Was straight forward and very honest with me. After looking at my MRI results he realized just how complex my issues were/are in my lower back. Dr. Berkowitz gave me his opinion and was very honest with me. I would recommend DrBerkowitz and any one of the Dr's at Center for Orthopedics too anyone with joint issues.

Dr. Berkowitz took his time explaining the results of xrays in terms I could understand. He allowed me to explain what pain I was feeling and me feel very comfortable. I didn't feel he was rushed to get to the next patient.
