The most therapeutic treatment center I have been too. PTSD is a real thing and the VA DOMICILIARY here is truly a place of healing.

I spent three months getting my life back together their in 88. I was 38 then and I'll have 29 years of sobriety November 2 2017. Battle Mounain saved my life and my sanity. I have very fond memories of my time there. Life is great as long as l keep gratitude a little higher than my expectations..

Beautiful Sand Stone building with a great history and still in use. The grounds are beautiful with wild turkeys and deer to bring cheer to all who visit. Vist in the late-afternoon when the birds and deer are active. They are very accustomed to humans and will let you walk right up to them. You can get some great photos of the buildings at this time as well.

Came here in early 2016, now I have a clean and sober lifestyle. My quality of life has increased. I now try giving instead of taking, have started a charity called CASTING VETS

I CAME UP HERE WITHOUT HOPE EXPECTING NOTHING TO CHANGE AND YES CHANGE DID COME THE COUNSELORS HELPED ME TO SEE THAT ALL WAS NOT LOST AFTER ALL AND THIS IS WHAT THEY HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND AND THAT IS TO NEVER GIVE UP NEVER GIVE UP. !!!! THE SWEAT LODGE LED BY MR GUY RED OWL IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF HEALING AS WELL !!!

It's a bummer because I covid access points are shut down and you can't go in as a visitor the beautiful campus to visit!

If you are looking to get sober this is the place to come off you are a veteran. The staff is amazing. If you need help and you are a veteran this place can and will help you.
