The El Ranchero Cafe was one of our favorite meal stops while on a cross-country drive. We were warmly welcomed like regulars, and immediately seated to peruse the menu while enjoying their chips & tasty salsa. Our meals were delicious and the servings were generous. We were so glad we swung off the interstate to enjoy the food and friendly staff at this cafe!

Definitely worth popping in on a road trip! I love Mexican food having grown up around it my whole life and this place simply hit the mark. A very unique feature in contrast to the traditional California Mexican food I'm used to was the sopaipillas which are such a delicious dessert. The flautas were fresh and could have been made by any Mexican abuela (Grandma) I know. The chips are crisp and tasted like they were homemade and the salsa was delicious as well. Stop in and you'll find friendly staff, quick service and tasty food you won't regret! This food made my day!

We visited Grants recently on a trip to find our retirement home. During our stay we had the great pleasure of enjoying several meals here. We were successful in our search and as we will soon be residing nearby, we hope to become 'regulars'.

Our friend told us to stop by, I’m glad we did cause it was Awsome food. Al pastor tacos were great and Asada tacos were great as well, had a veggie burrito that my friend had he like it, chile with queso and chip and the guacamole dip delicious. The breakfast looked good as well, so if your passing through I-40 east or west exit 79 make sure you stop by and grab some lunch you will not regret it.

First time eating here, we ordered the carne adovada burrito smothered in red chile, the Navajo taco plate with Christmas and menudo. Portions were good, we took home enough for later, and the taste were very authentic, something thats hard to find now a days. The service was outstanding and very friendly, we were checked on regularly and made sure we had everything we neeeded.

Legit New Mexico "Mexican food". I had the stuffed sopapilla with red chili, rice and beans. Everything was GREAT! My wife had the combo plate, again all great. Make sure you try a tamale, I got 4 to-go 😉!

My family and I are doing the whole Route 66 road trip! We were looking for some real authentic Mexican food, but they were all closed around us. We were just coming back from the Bandera Volcano and Ice Cave when we came across El Ranchero Cafe. After reading the very many good reviews about this place we decided to give it a try. We were all greatly surprised when we got our food. It was exactly what we were looking for! It’s definitely a place worth stopping for!

Great hometown feel and bang for your buck! Understaffed but hey, who isn't? If you can give a little patience for value, then here's your place!

This is definitely a much better restaurant than most in the area. If you like Mexican food that is (mostly) Mexican, this is a great spot. I say "mostly" because they also use ground beef in their tacos, but then again, most places do around here. Their sopapillas are amazing though! I will be going again for sure.

My wife and I just happened to jumped off the interstate to grab a quick dinner before getting home to Los Lunas. Great food, great friendly service, and very inexpensive. We will probably be going back to Milan, 2 1/2 hour round trip, just to eat at the El Ranchero Cafe. Thank you everyone at El Ranchero Cafe for the amazing experience

Amazing food! Red chile was delicious. Green chile was amazing! The way they prepared the French Toast made it the absolute best I have EVER had. Highly recommend this Café.
