acoma pueblo reserve

Acoma Pueblo is a Native American Pueblo, about 60 miles (97 km) west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Acoma have continuously occupied the area for over 2000 years. This makes then one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States.
You have to first visit the “Sky City Cultural Center “ and then taken by bus to the top of the Mesa. A guide then takes you around for a tour. He explains e everything in great detail. Some of the households have pottery and crafts to sell. We did. But a few things. It is definitely worth a visit.

Heartfelt tour. Given unabridged history of Pueblo and Spainards. Craftsmen on site showing wares and engaging in conversation. No pressure. Guide looked at everyone when speaking.

One of the Best places to visit in New Mexico! Amazing scenery, Great authentic food, friendly people and rich in culture!

Interesting and informative museum. It has aot of personal stories told that enhanced the experience of the visit to the pueblo.
