Black Bear Cafe

An utterly delightful place to enjoy a meal with friends or family, especially during the warm weather months when you can be seated at one of several outdoor tables.
The food is very tasty and plentiful. My party enjoyed a couple different breakfast burritos and the green chili which has a wonderful flavor akin to the best of the New Mexico green chili’s but needing just a slight more heat. Also the onion rings were light, crisp and yummy.

Excellent breakfast! Service was super friendly. On our way from Dubois to South Dakota, this was a perfect place to fill up for our trip. I had a breakfast taco & American fries/potatoes & my husband had a breakfast burrito. I ordered one pancake & thought it would be a small pancake! My eyes were surprised when the waitress brought it & it was the size of the plate & almost an inch thick, and fluffy! I can never get my pancakes to do that ! 😂

This place was amazing. The food was great. My server was wonderful and quick. It is my birthday week trip and they gave me a free cinnamon roll. Words can do this place justice, you just need to stop and try this place!!!!

We really enjoyed this little place. The food was good and the service and atmosphere were even better. If we are ever back in Thermopolis we will definitely make this a meal stop.

A good, hearty breakfast spot in Thermopolis. We had pancakes, waffles, omelettes, sausage, bacon, biscuits with gravy in our six person group. Service was quick and food was tasty.

This place was the best meal I've had in the past week of our vacation! The pancakes are half an inch thick and the size of a dinner plate and yet light and fluffy and so yummy! (I didnt order them but finished half of one) The lemon blueberrry muffin was so yummy as well!

GREAT breakfast! The places was packed, yet we got our food in minutes. Everything was delicious and hot. The service was outstanding!

Outstanding Lunch

Today my family and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Black Bear. From the Bean soup to the Chicken quesadilla to Chicken Fried Steak it was all delicious

The service was top notch and extremely reasonable priced

This place was cute and delicious! Everyone who worked there was very friendly. Fast service even though they were busy, the food was great, and our waitress Sadie was very nice and did a wonderful job serving us. Thank you! Would definitely be back.

My husband and I just wanted that morning a good, hearty American breakfast and we got it. I asked for my bacon not to be cooked all the way, I like it softer, and the chef did a great job. FYI, the pancakes are humongous, in case you want some, is a meal in itself. We ate between the locals, we were just passing by through the town, so the atmosphere was great. The lady that was greeting people seemed to know everybody and was joking with all clients. Friendly, clean, fast service. Was nice.

Weekend getaway, started our two mornings off right by having breakfast here! Meals are generous size and hard to find a better value in Thermopolis! Service was stellar both mornings. Thank you Aly and Carol, you gals are doing a super job!!! We will be back when we come to Thermopolis! Cinnamon Buns as big as your head! The best bacon ever! O.J. by the pint! You gotta check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Looks like a great place for locals, and for those like me who passing through: Great service, good food, grilled veggie salad for me with no eggs no cheese, came with corn and black olives.

Great place to eat! Nice salads, plates, and sides. Reasonable prices. I went on a Saturday and it was not crowded. I had lunch but I heard the server tell another guest that they serve breakfast all day including Eggs Benedict.

We loved it so much, we came back. And of course I had to order another delicious cinnamon roll! Thank you for two amazing breakfasts and cinnamon rolls. This is THE place to get good food and great service.

This is a cute little cafe open for breakfast and lunch. The service is excellent. The servers are kind, friendly, and professional. The food is excellent. Their pancakes are enormous and delicious. Everything is fresh, high quality, and perfectly cooked. Breakfast items are available all day.

Food was great!! Wait time for our food was short. Ordered a blue cheese buffalo burger. It was delicious! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet.

Great food. Decent price. Good service. Fabulous cinnamon huge role. Bison burger was awesome.
