Sunshine Inn & Suites

It is NOT TOO expensive, for what you all get! A small kitchenette with utensils and dish soap!, an always WARM pool, staff cleans the room daily plus there's laundry on site!!! This is our fourth year staying at Sunshine over their prime Spring break season. We love that we are EXTREMELY close to the best shark tooth hunting beaches in Florida!! Casperson beach & all of Mansota Key beaches!

The location is a little hard to access, and the curb appeal is so low we thought it was a sketchy hotel, but we were quite pleasantly wrong! We had a wonderful stay in a large, clean room, full size table and fridge, sitting area, and clean, comfortable queen sized beds! The staff were pleasant, excellent restaurants were across the street, and several small details were provided with the room. Recommend!

Very clean room! Looked like it had recently been painted. Bathroom was also very clean. Only wished the hot water in the shower had been hot rather than lukewarm. While I didn’t use it, the kitchenette had a sink, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, and toaster. Personnel at front desk were friendly and helpful when I couldn’t figure out how to use the TV remote.

Perfect for a nice quiet stay. Very clean and modernized. Nice people too. We were very happy with our stay.

We stayed back In mid July. This was our first time In Venice. It was our family of four which included my husband and I and our two young daughters. We had just left Legoland in Winterhaven, FL & due to prior issues we had to find a hotel on the way/ when we got there. Our first hotel we booked was horrible! We were told when we arrived after traveling a few hours that our reservation was somehow cancelled and it was getting quite late but the hotel looked extremely rough and my 9 year old was a little scared looking at it so we decided to drive around a bit hotel hunting because we wanted to be no more than 5-10 minutes from Casperson Beach. All we needed was a place to sleep, eat & shower we planned to stay at the beach the majority of the time.

We then found Sunshine Inn & Suites and given everything we had dealt with before it was such a relief to find this hotel. The manager/owner was the absolute NICEST. She was super accommodating. I needed an extra towel one day and all I had to do was ask and she went and grabbed it for me herself. I also had a package delivered there and she told me if we weren’t there when it arrived she would keep it at her desk for me. This place had nice clean rooms, showers, and kitchens. My 9 year old asked me to post a review given how worried we were with the first hotel and wanted to make sure I posted how great this one was. We plan to go back to Legoland and Venice next year and we will be staying here again for our Venice portion of the trip. I definitely recommend Sunshine Inn.

Great place. All one story, so no stairs. Front desk was very nice - even upgraded us without usasking.
It was very clean, with newer appliances. Had a small, (but bigger than most hotels') refrigerator with freezer, and a microwave. There were 4 chairs, something I rarely see, even in rooms that sleep 4. The ceiling fan was a welcome touch. There is a patio area with a picnic table and a really nice barbecue pit for patrons' use.
With the room darkening curtains, the room was still quite dark well after daylight.
The only downside was the remote control for the ac/ heater. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to get heat. I suggest a little sheet with instructions.

Great price for the location! Have stayed here a few times. Very clean rooms, and absolutely love the pool.

It reminds me a lot of an old Route 66 Motel. The building is one story made out of cinder blocks. It is very quiet. There is no invasion of noise from the Next Room or the street. It is very very clean. Mattresses are good and firm and clean. The room is well-appointed and would make an excellent week-long vacation location. The pool is gorgeous. The room is in excellent condition. Even the parking lot is in good condition. This is a good place to come to. Bring your own food because the motel does not offer breakfast, but the excellent kitchenette could be used for that purpose. Coffee is provided in the room.👍🚗😉

Pros: This was a great low-priced and very clean option! Was a little apprehensive after reading some negative reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. Very clean rooms, nice clean pool, very nice staff and excellent location. Cons: rooms might seem small for extended stay if more that two (unless they have bigger rooms). Bedding/floors outdated but very clean.
Also, We’ve stayed at 6 different places in 5 weeks and props to The Sunshine for being the ONLY place that had a recycling bin in the room and outside. So important with all the bottled water consumed in FL. Will stay here again

While researching for our 'round Florida trip, we needed a hotel for 1 night in Venice, and I saw the great reviews for this motel. We always try to support a local business when we can, and coupled with the good reviews, we decided to chance it. We were not disappointed at all! We arrived and were given a room upgrade to a room with 2 queen beds and a small semi-kitchenette (fridge, microwave, some dishes/cups/flatware, toaster, coffee maker, and a coveted kettle to my English husband's absolute delight!). The room was by far one of the cleanest hotel/motel rooms I have *ever* been in. Truly spotless. The ac unit had a remote control, which we found handy. The bath had good natural light and again was so clean! The pool area was lovely and nicely kept, and there was even charcoal and lighter fluid left out in case we had wanted to grill. Each room had 2 chairs outside to sit in, too. Our only "complaint" (which isn't one, really) is that the lights in the room were dim, but really it wasn't an issue. The owners were kind folks, and we have already discussed that when we come back to the area again (we loved Caspersen Beach), we WILL stay at Sunshine Motel again.

Cozy little motel right off the main road. Management was very nice and made us feel welcome. The cleaning crew was invisible. I never saw them but they did a great job. The pool is small but well maintained and great to relax in. I'd rather stay here than most large well known hotels. Extremely affordable and close to everything. Absolutely will stay here very time we come back.

The couple that own this motel are so accommodating. It’s immaculately clean throughout! The heated pool is to die for. It’s located just off the island, great location. The rates were so reasonable I honestly could not believe it. I only spent four nights there but I’m looking forward to trying to rent for 30 days next year when I’m in Florida.
Can’t wait to get back to Florida and more importantly the
Sunshine Inn.

I love this place. And the family running it. Nice clean bed, shower( with hot water), pool, sink, coffee maker, microwave, cable, wifi,close to everything, great prices. This really is a little gem. If you are in the area, or going to be, and are looking for a place to stay for the night or longer,and you don't feel like spending all your money on a hotel, the I recommend checking out this motel.

I'm hesitant to stay in "motels" when I'm on the road, so my expectations were low. Sunshine Motel greatly exceeded my expectations. It is run by a very nice family and is very well-maintained. I appreciated the cleanliness of the property and the warmth of the pool! The accommodations are basic, but quite adequate. The proprietors were very responsive and immediately resolved a maintenance issue that arose in the late evening. Overall, great value and highly recommended if your travels take you through Venice.

This is my third time staying here and the rooms have always been spotless and the staff has always been great. Owner has always been extremely accommodating if I needed anything. There are many different restaurant choices and a couple beach choices within a 5-10 minute drive of the motel.

The Sunshine Motel has nice cozy rooms that are kept super clean. There is a heated pool on the property. The motel is located close to many restaurants and other attractions such as the beach. The owners are amazing and take pride in their work. We plan on coming back here next year for our vacation!

Great pool-comfortable beds-cheap This motel is older, so the rooms are smaller; but we have 2 queen size beds that are great. It's clean, and when swimming, you can watch the planes from the airport. Best place for the money.

Rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The premises are clean and safe with perfect location between the beach, town, and 75 close by, too! Management is very kind and helpful as well!! Excellent place to stay!! I highly recommend!!
