It was our first experience here & I can't say enough good things about the staff, restaurant aesthetic/atmosphere, & most importantly (alongside service), the food & beverages.
We got lucky & were seated without reservations right away. The restaurant was quite busy (not surprised after our experience).
As the menu has much to offer, we asked our server (Canyon) for his favorite appetizers & we chose two- the pulled pork deviled eggs & the BBQ pork & pimento cheese wontons. If you'll look at the photos I shared, the presentation is beautiful. Guess what!? They were both delicious! Hats off to the kitchen!
I ordered a nice salad & my husband ordered their shrimp & grits. Zero disappointment. The drink menu is also delectable.
10/10, would recommend & we look forward to going back; as well as bringing friends/family upon their visits.

Traveling I75 and reading menus of restaurants online, we discovered "Steel Magnolias" had Fried Green Tomatoes. Being a fan of both movies, we decided to call in to see if Friday night date night would put a damper on our stopping in amidst our travels. Eli assured us that would not be the case and to come on in. He said, "We'll have a table waiting." Luckily, this friendly young person was also our waitstaff. The fried green tomatoes and creme brulee were some of the best I've ever had. The salads were also fabulous. Without the tip, it was $46. To me, this was a fair price for the food. The bar upstairs was beautiful with large windows covered outside by climbing vines. This place is definitely well worth traveling a little more off I75.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars! It was just THAT great! The food, the atmosphere, the service... EVERYTHING was outstanding! My friend and I just happened to stumble upon this place for brunch, when Jessie's (not too far) was closed when we got there. And man oh man, was it the best thing that could've happened to us! As soon as we walked in, we felt such a warm greeting. We were asked if we wanted to sit on the Rooftop, which sounded "fancy," so we scurried on up the stairs like the excited kids inside of us! It was just extremely too hot outside😩 so we came back inside. I ask TONS of questions when I go to a new place (I can't help it..lol), but the server was extremely patient and helpful. I ended up ordering Chicken & Waffles, the Crab Cake Benedict AND grits because I couldn't decide between them (judge someone else, ok?!). All were absolutely amazing! My friend had the Brunch Burger, which she raved about as well. The Mimosas were definitely on point too. You can get a pitcher of orange juice and a whole bottle of champagne for just $22 (I think it was). The cook even came to our table at the end to make sure we enjoyed everything. The whole experience was TOP NOTCH and I will definitely return!

Stopped here for lunch today on our way to Florida. Absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. My husband raved about the sweet potato fries. We were intrigued by the pork wontons. So glad we tried them; they were unique and scrumptious! Our server, Chad, was amazing. Courteous and expedient service. Definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the area.

Very charming restaurant! The decor is reminiscent of dinning in a southern socialite’s plantation manor. The food is distinctly southern and familiar but also adds touches of unique flavour to old favorites. An example is the fried green tomatoes that forgo the ranch and instead offer fetta, bacon jam and a comeback sauce that lives up to its name sake. The waitstaff is also cheery and polite. I had a newer waiter and even he was rather knowledgeable on the menu and made great points. The food has decent portion sizes for the higher price and all three things I orders were delicious and balanced in flavour. All around a great restaurant to come to if you don’t mind a slightly higher price point for good atmosphere and comfort food with a twist.

When in Rome, or the south, or specifically Valdosta Georgia, make a stop at Steel Magnolia’s! Rustic, relaxing and Charming decor. Sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the chefs prepare all the food in the open kitchen.

Ordered the fried green tomatoes for appetizer. Perfectly fried, not greasy at all and the pimento cheese mouse really gave it an extra “kick” of flavor to go with the sweet flavor of the bacon jam, grilled corn and feta cheese.

Had to go with the shrimp and grits for my entrĂ©e. I consider myself a bit of a shrimp and grits aficionado and this dish was exceptional. Smoked gouda grits had a wonderful, hearty consistency, the shrimp, cooked to perfection, “popped” in my mouth when I bit into them and The andouille sausage was a great little additional flavor.

Finally dessert! Strawberry shortcake on a freshly made biscuit, sweet strawberries and homemade whipped cream. how could you go wrong? I didn’t have a cocktail, but they have a Small but unique selection of beer that was refreshing.

If you’re in Valdosta or even just passing by I highly recommend making the stop

Honestly I could go on and on. Will ( I think, he had glasses and awesome suggestions I'm just terrible at names!) Sit at the kitchen if you want the full experience. Wine list was excellent. Beers were all local for the most part and the food was in a few words: Perfectly Southern Hospitality. 12/10 recommend.

This place is amazing. My first time and totally worth the trip. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and everyone in our party was pleased with the food. We did have to ask the server to take our drink order, which I found a little odd. They brought out water and never offered anything else. Our server was training another. Overall it was still a very nice experience and I look forward to going back.

Stopped in for lunch today, from out of town and saw this place as highly recommended.

I had the blackened chicken tacos with fresh black beans/corn, onion and lettuce. Also had the sweet potato tots. Our server, Morgan, was a very nice young lady and very attentive.

Food was wonderful, and very filling. At only $9, it was a great value. The building is decorated in a historic manner.

There is a rooftop bar open at night and a full bar upstairs where you could have a drink while awaiting your table. Would come back and recommend very highly

This place was amazing! All of the food and drinks were phenomenal. Got to walk all the way up and seat ourselves on the rooftop. Staff, view, and food were all great. I'll be back here way more often!

By far one of the nicest restaurants I’ve ever visited. A beautifully decorated restaurant with an upscale Southern charm and elegance, Steel Magnolias has multiple levels of dining, from an open dining room as you walk in and an impressive bar on the second floor to a spacious, yet cozy rooftop patio. We ate on the patio, and it’s everything one could hope for and more - make sure to even take in the beautiful design of the tile.

As for the food, what is there to say. I couldn’t even take time to snap a picture of my entree, as I was more focused on enjoying it. Everything on the menu is carefully crafted to provide the most delicious taste with each bite. The same goes with the creative cocktail list.

This place is top notch, and I’m so glad I got to check it out while visiting Valdosta. I will definitely be returning.

I can't wait to return to Steel Magnolias. This was some of the best food I've had in a while. Sitting on the third floor roof top, I had their fall duck dish with bleu cheese grits and brussel sprouts. So good. We also tried the filet, the sweet potato side and their salad. All were good. For dessert we had the toffee pudding and pumpkin creme brulee. I'm still wishing I had more of each.

My son's going away luncheon was hosted here by his fellow Airmen. There was enough room for the large turn out, and so much food the salads were to have seconds for. The catering staff did an excellent job. For sure we stayed at best two hours. For sure the owners needs to know they are making lasting memories.

Great place to eat! Very quaint and unique! Staff was friendly and helpful. One gets the full sense of "Southern Hospitality" here!! Their menu selection is, I hate to use the word again, but unique! The Fried Green Tomatoes were excellent. I will definitely hit this place up again when I get back in to town! Highly recommended!!

There were very few restaurants open in Valdosta at the time, but I'm glad we landed here! The atmosphere was laid back. Our server was great as she made great suggestions for everyone. Drinks and food were served in a timely manner even though it seemed to be pretty busy for a small dine in restaurant. Loved my quinoa bowl! I'd recommend adding seared ahi tuna to the bowl.

The food was amazing and staff was friendly. The only thing I didn't care for was the fried green tomatoes with peach bacon jam.
