Grandma Hoyt's Country Buffet & Catering

I wish I could give this place a ten start. Service was awesome. Food was like going to granny’s house for real. I loved it. Everything was clean. 97 rating. A family tradition! I highly recommend!!

This is the best southern food I have tried. The pecan pie is to-die-for. The brisket paired with mash is just perfection. Everything is made with love. The place feels homey and welcoming. (Side note: go there with an empty stomach because they will feed you)

One of the best places I’ve eaten in a long time. The staff were so friendly. Misty was so sweet and made sure everyone kept full on drinks. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

1st time visit. Greated very pleasantly as soon as I walked in. It's buffet style served by workers. They were very nice as well.

I had the meatloaf, country style steak and fried chicken. I liked all, but my favorite was meatloaf. All the hot food was served hot, not warm. Which is the way I like it. The vegetables were good as well. If you want a "small" portion of many vegetables or meat, best tell them. They pile it on. You won't ho hungry here, that's for sure. The rolls and cornbread were excellent. Go back and get as much as your heart and stomach desires.
There is ample seating inside. Must have parking in rear since front looks thin. At $14.96, with iced tea, it's a bit higher than I thought. I'd return though. I'd recommend.

Excellent place, very good service, it is a family restaurant where the owners serve you. Very friendly when they welcome you and explain the history of the restaurant, it was a long time since I ate typical American food. Soon I will bring my family to taste this excellent food and service.

The owner was at the register. he was such a nice guy. Loved the food. It's really a big selection and top quality. The desserts are so good, don't fill up on everything, or you'll regret missing them. Definitely a great value! It's less than 2 miles off I-85 if you are traveling through the area.

My fiance told me about how good the food is. She has been here more then I have.

Today was my first time in. Had the beef brisket, chicken shell, Mac and cheese, and carrots.

WOW it was delicious the brisket was so juicy and tender and the ribs were the same. Fall of the bone and super delicious.

Asked who made them was told the son did. Kudos to the entire staff for such delicious food.

I will definitely be coming back

Every time I come here, the staff is extremely warm, pleasant and accommodating. The food always tastes fresh and flavorful. A hidden jewel.

Very great place to eat.

The taste of the foods are excellent, and extraordinary. The best dish is fried chickens, which are really tasty and have the perfect crispiness. The taste is rich, not spicy, and tasted really great. Other great menu of note is the rice with gravy, fried fish, and baked chicken.

The price is around 9 dollars, which is great for the quality and quantity of the place.

All of the staffs are really helpful, humble, and friendly. The toilets are clean. All of the place is clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning works perfectly.

Love this place so much. This is a family owned business. It has a great variety of comfort foods on the buffet. The buffet has changed since Covid which allows a safer dining experience. You can eat all you want; however, the staff serve the food. Great place and great people. Also has plenty of room for parties, etc.

This was our first time eating here. We will definitely be returning. Super friendly and helpful employees. You get plenty of food to eat. I would definitely recommend eating here if you are in the area.

I've been going to Grandma Hoyt's several times a week for about six months now. They have excellent ham, meatloaf, country steak, barbecue, and carrots. The restaurant is family owned and the staff always like talking to you to make you feel welcome. The restaurant has been mentioned in several publications such as "Our State" magazine as one of the best places to eat in North Carolina and I agree with those publications. The buffet is about $12 per person and a single plate is about $11 per person. For most single plates, the portions are generous enough to make the total plate weigh about a pound or maybe a little more.

My second time eating here and my husband’s first time. I told him that it was well worth the drive from our house to there to eat. They have the best home cooked lunch buffet that I have ever had.Our next visit will be to try the breakfast buffet.

A bit crowded; business must be good 😊 and no fault to the owner but it made dining a bit cramped.

Food was great... let me share a little story... I went in with a coworker just to get a tea... I had brought a lunch but it was a can of beans and a pack of crackers... I don't mind it and it saves money... but one of the waitresses wouldn't let me go eat my lunch... she made me get food from the buffet... I told her no but she insisted that she buy my lunch... I did not know her... she didn't know me... she was very kind and I really did enjoy the food... oh and they had really good tea!!!

First time going. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was very delicious!! I really enjoyed the Saturday breakfast buffet!! They had a large selection and everything tasted like a grandma cooked it. I especially loved the country fried steak and their bread pudding. We will definitely be back!!
