This B&B is phenomenal!! Absolutely wonderful in every area you could imagine! I stayed the night with just my daughter and I the first time. We felt safe and comfortable in our room. The room (and the entire house) was amazing. Kayrl, Scott, and Shiyloh are great hosts! They make you feel like family. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! We have allergies and sensitivities to look out for but that did not bother our hosts at all! We had such a lovely experience that when we were back in the Carthage area we knew we had to stay there again! What a wonderful experience for a wonderful price. Absolutely outstanding!

This was our first time ever staying in a B&B. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The accommodations from the beautiful home itself to the thoughtfully curated furnishings throughout were stunning. The breakfasts were deliciously prepared and served with the best coffee ever! We are so grateful to Karyl, Scott and Shylo for making our stay comfortable and memorable. These owners have a true passion for their work.

We stayed during a weekend trip to do some hiking. The Inn was lovely, and staff very helpful and courteous. I'd highly recommend the Old Buggy Inn if you are in the area.

Our stay was very pleasant. Quiet getaway for our weekend family reunion in nearby Pinehurst. Karyl is a very accomplished cook, breakfast was wonderful. We enjoyed Scott & Karyl's hospitality.

The Old Buggy Inn is a beautiful B&B inside and out. We found the common areas warm and cozy. The bedrooms were large, warm and well-appointed with soft comfortable beds. The bathrooms are clean, and the water is hot. Karyl & Scott are wonderful hosts. They made us feel like welcomed friends providing friendly and gracious service. Karyl's breakfasts were incredibly delicious! They were so good we actually delayed meeting family in town to stay for her breakfast. And... I can't post a review without talking about Shyloh, the best greeter we have ever experienced! He is the sweetest pup and we loved having him come visit us throughout our stay! Add the Old Buggy Inn to your list of must stay B&Bs!

Mine and my wife's brief weekend retreat was well-spent at the Inn. Entering the home introduced us to a comforting mix of great architecture, wonderful hosts, a sweetheart of a canine, and a step back to a time of doing all things well. We were treated as family and shared sweet fellowship. We HIGHLY recommend this experience!

Karyl and Scott were amazing, and I can't forget about Shyloh. He greets you at the door every time you enter. I didn't want to leave they were so warm and inviting. Clean rooms, great food, and conversation...what more could you ask for. Thank you both for a wonderful stay.

Unfortunately it‘s not possible to give more than 5 stars because it was the best stay on our whole journey. Everything was perfect down to the last detail. Since we‘re from Europe (the first Europeans to stay there we were told) we were thrilled by the charm of the Old Buggy Inn and the beauty of this part of NC. Scott and Karyl were the most welcoming and charming hosts you could wish for and we really felt at home. If you go to this part of NC forget every other Hotel, stay here!
Thank you Scott and Karyl! Best wishes from Georg and Theresa.

The Old Buggy Inn is the absolute cutest B&B we have ever stayed in. Scott and Karyl were so sweet, welcoming, and friendly. The rooms are huge and impeccable, the period decor gorgeous. The food and coffee was delicious. The house is just so beautiful. We will definitely stay again and recommend to any friends and family that come to the area.

Scott and Karyl are wonderful hosts. They recommended a great local restaurant and make you truly feel like you are at home. Breakfast was delicious. Karyl is a fantastic cook. The coffee was also great. They shared not only the history of the house and original owner, but also about the town itself. Room was clean, bathroom area and tub/shower nice and clean as well nice fresh linens and towels. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Comfortable common area to watch tv, play games, read or just meet others. Sat out on the front porch for an evening night cap. They also have a fit pit and corn hole area set up in the back. Enjoyed my stay, will be putting it on my list of places to return to. Definitely stay if you are in need of a great place.

We recently stayed 3 nights at this wonderful property and hadn't felt that spoiled or relaxed in some time! Soaking in a deep, claw-foot tub was such a treat.
Scott and Karyl are wonderful hosts and we immediately felt welcome. They went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and assure our comfort. We loved hearing about the history of the house and very much enjoyed conversing with them.
The inn's interior has been beautifully restored and the exterior is well on its way. Guest areas include 2 parlors, a dining room, and a large foyer on the first floor. Four spacious bedrooms with private baths and a large sitting area with a beverage-stocked fridge occupy the second floor.
Karyl's breakfasts were something we looked forward to each morning: beautifully presented and delicious! The portions were very generous, assuring my cyclist husband was well-fueled for his long ride. They even have their own special blend of coffee!
Everything you might need can be found in town and anything you might want is within a short drive. We highly recommend a stay at this very special place and will definitely be returning.

The house is absolutely beautiful! The room I had was stunning, everywhere you looked, from the down comforter to the fireplace, antique lamps and period furniture. The owners are wonderful people who made me feel right at home, and the food was delicious! But most of all , it is a place where I could truly relax! Sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch in the cool of the evening was just heavenly! If you plan on traveling through the area, please look them up. You won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait to go back!

I was traveling through North Carolina to speak at a Missions Conference. I stayed at the Old Buggy Inn and it was delightful! Very comfortable and very clean. Karyl prepared a delicious breakfast with coffee. I enjoyed talking with Scott and Karyl as I learned about the history of the house and the Inn. I will definitely return but this time with my wife and kids for some R n R. Thank you for a great time! Blessings-

Booked a long weekend stay (close-ish to home road trip!) for a last-minute anniversary trip. It was really lovely. The room was spacious and gave us some room to move around while staying in. And we loved the bathrobes! The house has so much charm.
Waking up to Karyl's cooking and Scott's conversation made for a great start to our mornings. Karyl is killin' it with the breakfasts!!
There was plenty of things to do a short drive away. We went for a hike, explored some restaurants in the next towns over, and went antiquing. There is still plenty to do next time.
Thank you all for being such great hosts! You won't be disappointed with this booking.

I was referred to the Old Buggy Inn by some friends who live down the road. I'm here on business and am extremely happy I stayed here. I was greeted with the welcome howls of Shylo the handsome dog at the door. It's an incredible old Victorian home with lots of history and charm. The walls are decorated with old photos of the area that would defiantly bring you back in time. Karyl checked me in, gave me a little tour and got me settled into my room. During my tour she asked me what I liked for breakfast and what was the best time for me. She makes a fantastic breakfast it's like old warm comfort food with a twist. Everything is clean and you can tell they take great pride in what they do. Scott and Karyl are amazing guest always around to chat or answer question about the area and even point you in the direction of local spots. I really can't say enough about them and my stay. I will always come back and stay here during my travels.
Thank You Scott, Karyl and Shylo for everything!

Although our stay was cut short due to a medical emergency with our pup, we has a wonderful time!
My husband and I also own out own business and being able to support a local small business was so great opposed to staying at a chain.
Their welcoming crew (Shiyloh) was adorable and so sweet. The place is well maintained, clean, and modern with a wonderful quaintness.
If you have to option to stay here, please do!
