Sheila at the desk is extremely helpful and courteous. Always happy to see us. Kelly, the audiologist, did an excellent job of explaining all the different tests and procedures. When it was determined that hearing aids were necessary, she explained all the options very thoroughly without pressuring us in any way. Definitely glad we chose to go there.

The entire process of getting hearing aids from the Hearing Life of Rutherfordton was outstanding. Shiela and Kelley are extremely helpful. Kelley explained my hearing test to me in detail. New hearing devices were explained, and all the pros and cons were laid out. I never felt pressured to make a decision or to buy something More expensive. Kelley was very thorough in all aspects of explaining hearing aids, and how to use them. I am extremely happy with my new hearing aids and the entire experience with the Hearing Life group. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for new hearing aids.

These guys are always friendly and professional and respectful of my time! I can get in and out pretty quickly ans easily most any time I need to.
And considering the rising costs of supplies these days, it’s comforting to know that one service contract fee will provide to me all the appointments, accessories, and batteries I need at any time, pretty much just for walking through the door!

My dad was fit with hearing aids at the Rutherfordton office. The front desk Sheila is wonderful. Made us feel very at ease. ! We meet our provider next Kelly. She is the best. Lots of listening and that personal touch with dad.. I highly recommend anyone who needs hearing aids go this office. You won’t regret it. I would even say the best you will ever find! Called early morning with an ear concern and was given an appointment that day.
Sheila is always cheerful and helpful and Kelly recognized my problem immediately and took care of it.

Kelly did a great job getting me tested and installed with my new Oticon Real 1 hearing aids. I’m an experienced user, but new to HearingLife and Oticon instruments and app. Kelly used my prior experience to make the whole process quick and effective. She did a great job helping me understand the differences and new features of my devices. Coming from years as a Resound GN user, I was impressed by the ease of use and advanced features of the Real 1. Overall an excellent experience

My mom’s hearing aid stopped working. We purchased them here. I called to schedule an appointment to have them looked at and the earliest appointment available was for the next day in the afternoon. But someone kindly called and said that they had an opening that morning instead of the next day. They saw her and found that a tube a clogged, we were out in less than 15 minutes and there was no charge. My mom was trilled to be able to hear again. Thanks for the swift and cordial service.

Recently I was in a room when a very loud fire alarm went off for about 20 minures. There was some concern that my hearing was affected. Kelli saw me, did a hearing test, reviewed and renewed my hearing aids, and reassured me that my hearing had not been damaged. Much gratitude for her kniwledge and Care

My hearing loss was slow and subtle, finally to the point where quality "aids " only seemed to increase the sound but not word definition. I felt left out of conversations because I could not understand what was being said. I went to Kelly at Hearing Life and explained my frustration. She suggested I try some new aids she had just gotten in..OTICON INTENT MINIRITE. She fitted me then started talking. I reacted with Yikes I can hear and understand what you are saying...huge difference. I could hear each word. I was thrilled..my world opened up again. Later at a meeting, Wonderful directional capabilities allowed me to carry out conversations without background noise. They are Wonderful!
Too many people are shut out of life, considered dumb or demented because they can't hear. These Oticon aids give you back your life.
Expensive, not really when you consider the cost of assisted living. Don't waste money on cheap aids and go to a good hearing audiologist like Hearing Life. Your hearing comprehension will determine your ability to participate in life.

The people here are very patient and polite. Great service. I was given the wrong size hearing aids. Soon as the Dr looked at them she changed them. It's Great

As I walked I was treated with a friendly hello and asked to sit down. The secretary was pleasant. I was instructed as to how to fill our 4 forms. I turned them in . Then a nice gentleman offered me a cup of coffee while I waited . When the audiologist called me she was friendly. We discussed different types of hearing aides, my problem with my current pair and pricing . We worked that out and proceeded with the test . After the test we discussed what type would be appropriate for my type of loss. Got it approved to purchase and ordered them . I won’t have them till next week.

Latest Update: I've now been using HearingLife of Rutherfordton NC for three years. Every experience has been perfect. The ongoing care and testing has shown me that it is clearly worth it to purchase a high quality hearing aid from a professional. For a younger person with only minor loss, the online hearing devices might be helpful; but, when you really need to hear well, you need a team like the one at HearingLife.

I did learn that using high quality hearing protection when cutting the grass has stopped my continued loss of hearing.

Update a year later. Perfect experience. Everything is working smoothly and the one year adjustment was an improvement.

I also learned that although the “new or soon” over the counter hearing aids are available, the expert advice and configuration by a local, fully trained and experienced professional is so important that I’m not sure anyone would really benefit from the OTC ones.

From a year ago: I was certain that I didn’t need a hearing aid, but my wife said I didn’t listen to her. Went to see Craig. His testing protocols were better than any test I had received in the Military. He did a great, professional job. Fitted me with an excellent pair of hearing aids, and I can’t believe what I am hearing.

I highly recommend Kelly for high quality, professional, and reasonably priced service.

I had started to notice that I was not hearing everything that was going on around me. For sometime now I had to ask people around me what was said. I finally decided I wanted to do something about it I called for an appointment with Craig at Moutain Ear and it was setup last December. I arrived with my wife for my appointment and was taken back to have a hearing test. Craig then told me that I did have some loss in the speech range with some loss in other area's. He then set up a pair of aids to match my loss. I was amazed at what I could hear while wearing the aids. We then discussed the cost as well as the arrangement for payment. After sometime to decide he ordered my aids.they came in quickly and he set them up and told me everything I needed to know about them and their care. Over the last few month's I have had several appointments for check ups where he fine tuned each one to me. I am extremely happy with the quality of the product and the service that I have been given. I would highly recommend Craig and his staff to anyone who has been thinking they might be missing out on the conversation. The product is great and he takes great care in making sure they work for you. The price was surprisingly not as high as I thought it would be. If you have to ask people to repeat themselves or have to turn the TV or Radio up to understand what is going on. Go see Craig at Mountain Ear. He will fix you up.

I would recommend them to everyone who needs hearing aids. They are so nice and helpful. They explain everything to you. Kelly is just awesome

Kelly is a wonderful provider, she listens to her patients and goes the extra mile. Justin is a great frontline person for Kelly, very friendly, always upbeat and very helpful! They put the patient as number one!

The staff are excellent, five stars is not enough. Craig was very professional in explaining the test results and in making recommendations for the different products available; the differences in what and how each model works and the type of situations each would be most helpful in. There was never any pressure to buy a particular brand or model. My hearing aids arrived in 2 days and the next day had an appointment to get them set up for my particular needs. I would highly recommend Craig to anyone who has hearing issues. In fact I have already referred him someone in my office.
