Louis A. Macklanburg Park

Great neighborhood park! There is a Play area for children, surrounded by benches. There are two different big toys one for younger kids and one for 5 to 12-year-olds. There are two covered picnic benches with a small charcoal grill and one more that is uncovered. They have two baby swings and two big kids swings. There is also a sidewalk that is in good shape that goes all around the whole area.
There is a rec center, which has a bunch of features itself! There is a nice small parking lot with handicap spots. There is no bathroom if the rec center is closed. Next to the playground is a soccer field that seems pretty level and near that is a baseball/kickball field with a backstop and a small set of bleachers. There are two tennis courts with nets that are in decent shape. There is a splash pad that is goodly sized and it also has a picnic table. One drawback is that the splash pad is on the other side of the rec center from the playground. So parents can't supervise both.
The area has plenty of sidewalk and trashcans. There is plenty of parking, including handicapped, but not much in the way of lighting.

This park has something for everyone. There's a community center here offering after school activities for kids. On the outside of the center there is a traditional park on one side and a splash park on the other side. The playground area has a sidewalk around the perimeter making it a perfect spot to get a walk in while still being able to monitor children playing. In addition to everything else, the park hosts soccer and football practices for young children. There are almost always kids playing here and the families I have encountered are warm and friendly.

Macklanburg Park and Recreation Center is great! The staff and programs offered here are hard to match. Mr B., Rec Director/coordinator, Mrs. Tony, and Mrs Perry are excellent at what they do. There is true love at seeing kids grow, learn, and develop character.

Great place to go and relax. The splash pad is really nice to cool off on the hot days. The Porta potty is kept nearby and maintained really well.

We had a great time! Splash pad, park area, indoor basketball, and there just so happened to be face painting, bounce houses, emergency vehicles and responders, as well as hotdogs, chips, and drinks for all the kids. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. We felt at home.

My youngest 2 learned to swim here at 6 years old. They have taken out the pool and have replaced it with a splash pad! There is a recreation center there too!

Wonderful place for children. The staff is friendly and very caring to the children. I luv how they interact with the children, helping them to walk in the truth of Hu they are but also respecting others truth.

This is a great little neighborhood park. It's got a splashpad for cooling off in the summer, a playground for the kids, a nice walking path for an evening walk, and tennis courts as well. Check it out!

Great place to let your child go have some fun. Friendly staff who care and like their jobs.

Great gym floor for basketball athletes. $2 for adults who want to use the gym. Free for children under 18!

I always enjoy coming to the splash pad here. I don't feel it's ever too crowded compared to some other splash pads.

Nice to be able to to be out and about and be able to cool off. Fun spray pad for people of all ages. 🙂
