Im delighted to say that my time training in Houston has been a great experience for me and have enjoyed every minute of it. Flight schools are a complex thing and somehow they make it look simple. I wish to also give thanks to Sean, Ryan & James for holding me to the peak of my abilities at every moment. I got all my ratings finished in less then half a year and appreciate the level of professionalism American Flyers brings to the table. I also wish to thank Cristal Amerson for the great work she does running this location. 10/10 if you plan to become a pilot this is the place to be.

American Flyers! What can I say that hasn't already been said. They are an amazing company and school! They try their best at making you a better pilot, either those who want to learn for the first time or those who think they have no room for improvement. They will make you better! I have had an amazing time progressing through their extensive lesson plans that are well paced and cohesive. The instructors are amazing, you really get the sense that they are just normal people rather than the daunting and overbearing feeling you'd find at another flight school.

I highly recommend taking their introductory flight to simply try flying and getting to know an instructor. They will speak for themselves!

The Huston location is amazing. Not only do they have a great program but they also ave great staff! Erin at the front desk is professional and kind with every interaction. The CFIs I worked and flew with are great. Sean, Mason, Debbie, and Aaron are all amazing CFIs with great personalities and teaching styles.

I cannot recommend the Huston location enough to anyone just starting out as a student pilot or all the way up to the CFI Academy they do each month. If you are looking for a great place to learn how to fly with great staff and amazing planes American Flyers is the best place to be!

I went through a couple of flight schools while getting my certifications and WOW! I wish I had found American Flyers sooner. I believe I would've finished faster and secured a stronger foundation earlier in my training.

American Flyers has a fleet of aircraft as new as they come. The technology that is within these aircraft is also top of the line.

As someone who got to experience multiple flight schools and see their differences, I can tell you American has some of the best instructors. They are knowledgeable, professional and most importantly they make you feel like you matter to them instead of being a pawn to grown their flight hours to get to the "holy grail"(the airlines)

While I wasn't with American for my entire training, I can say that while I was there, I deeply regretted not starting my flight training career with them. American Flyers is responsible for a lot of the knowledge that I plan to use for the rest of my career.

I highly recommend this flight school. I’m so glad I made the decision to finish up my private rating at American Flyers. Also, the 141 Instrument-Commercial Program is very well structured and cost efficient.

The American Flyers staff is very friendly and always willing to answer questions. I’ve flown with a majority of the instructors and they are all excellent. The school certainly has a high standard for CFIs. The front office employees are there 7 days a week and are always willing to work with students’ schedules. My experience here has been nothing but positive. You won’t regret training with American Flyers.

I started with American Flyers after I already had my private certificate, and did the combined Instrument-Commercial program, as well as their 30 Day CFI academy, for which I went to the Pompano, FL. location. Speaking solely about American Flyers at Hooks, I have nothing but positive things to say, zero complaints or issues. The office staff is fantastic, and they have gone above and beyond for me on multiple occasions. Whether it was getting tricky flights or lessons scheduled, ironing out application/paperwork issues, or coordinating with their Pompano staff on financial transfers, I never had to worry. I flew with several different instructors, all of whom were top notch, and I believe getting to experience a variety of instructing styles was a huge benefit to me as an aspiring (and now certificated) CFI. Their Piper fleet is very well maintained, well equipped, and were always a pleasure to fly. In my opinion, any program offered by American Flyers is likely to be the best one you'll find.

American Flyers in Conroe undoubtedly the #1 flight school in the Houston area. From top to bottom they have been nothing but exceptional. Erin at the front has the most positive energy when needing anything. Crystal made my decision easy to choose this flight school as I have been with others in the past. They’ve come up with a game plan for me and we executed.
Mason & Sean are the Chiefs/ Studs! Easy to get a hold of and discuss issues that may occur during solo flight, ATC, knowledge, etc. They truly take care of you and put you first.
My instructors:🐐🐐🐐 Yall are the real MVP
Palmer: hands down knowledgeable and able to communicate and make things easier for me to understand and execute.
Rachel: gave me confidence and ability to grow while making mistakes and not hinder my growth

I transferred from another flight school to American Flyers. The quality of training I am receiving here is unmatched. Their CFI and other employees are extremely knowledgeable helpful and professional, the aircraft are well maintained, and the facilities are modern and kept up.

Since transferring here I have grown tremendously in my knowledge and skills required to be a pilot. Also the confidence I have in myself has increased as well. I highly recommend choosing American Flyers as your flight school.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND American Flyers. Here is a little bit about my experience and how amazing American Flyers was to me. July 11th I started flight school at a different flight school in the Houston area and was treated very poorly and with a very negative learning environment. Half way into my instrument training, I ended up leaving this school and discovering American Flyers. They quickly got me in for an evaluation and log book audit to be able to complete the rest of my training. Megan, the chief pilot, did this evaluation and really sold me on American Flyers by the way she treated me. She made me feel like I belonged at this school. After my eval Cristal gave me an estimate on how much it would cost to finish up my instrument training; there was no hidden information. This also sold me on American Flyers. I told Cristal I wanted to fly as much as possible and she promised me she would make that happen. She stuck with her promise and got me in a minimum of 5 days a week, sometimes even more. I also requested that she give me a positive instructor, because of how much my previous flight school had broken my confidence and because a positive atmosphere fits best with my learning style. She paired me with Sean, my primary instructor. He was absolutely amazing, I cannot speak highly enough of Sean. He is so kind, and has the best teaching style. He and all of the other instructors I worked with at American Flyers renewed my confidence level and really helped get me ready for my check ride. Exactly two weeks and three days later I took my instrument check ride and received my instrument rating. I will be continuing with my Commercial, Multi Engine and CFI training here at American Flyers. This is an exemplification of how a flight school should treat their students and I absolutely highly recommend them to anyone who is trying to pick the right flight school.

American Flyers has an excellent flight program, where I was able to go from Private Pilot to CFII in only about 10 months. It could've been faster, but we had a couple hurricanes and a big freeze that really put a sabot in the works.

There isn't a single instructor or staff member I've met here that isn't A-game material and great to be around. When training, it's important you don't mind having to spend 2 hours sitting right next to the folks you are training with, and American Flyers definitely hires likable, reliable, talented people.

Hands down the best flight school in Houston. The manager is great, their chief pilot is fantastic, their instructors care, and their maintenance is top notch. If you want to be taken care of and you want to succeed, this is the place for you.
Communication is very important to me, from day one, the manager insisted that we communicate on a daily basis. I thought this might be a little overboard but I soon found out that she really cared about my progress. I enjoyed our daily talks and appreciate her taking the time to invest in my training.
If you are looking for the best flight school, come to American Flyers in Spring, Texas.

You would be hard-pressed to find a school that provides a better learning environment for aviation students, or that has more caring knowledgeable instructors.

OMG! I can't even fully describe my experience at American Flyers! I've been to a handful of flight schools but I can say this for sure that this one is hands down the best one in Texas. The staff were respectful/helpful. The flight instructors were all knowledgeable/patient. The airplanes in use were all in great condition. I'm definitely planning on finishing the rest of my training here. If you are even mildly interested in aviation I would highly recommend you to check this cool place out!

While I was initially skeptic because of their higher prices, I did take their ground school prep for the private pilot license (ppl) written test and enjoyed it and found that it covered the material flawlessly. James was the ground school instructor and he really knows every little thing there is to ground school. Yo can tell that he not only is knowledgeable but also really enjoys teaching. After continuing training at my flight school, I decided to finish up my ppl with American Flyers’ finish up program. While I believed that I was some ways off from finishing my ppl, upon doing a ground lesson and a flight to gauge my knowledge and flying skills, they told I was basically ready to pass my check-ride and just needed to finish certain requirements to pass it. This startled me as I thought they would try to extract every penny out of me by flying unnecessary hours and ground lessons, but this was not the case. They gave me an honest estimate of how much to finish my ppl would cost, something I really appreciated as it allowed me to plan for the proper amount of money needed without any hidden costs. I flew primarily with Ryan who is one of the friendliest instructors ( if not the friendliest) I’ve flown with, and I’ve flown with quite a few. He has the perfect mix of making you feel safe and relaxed while also giving you pointers as you fly to keep up good habits. Their planes have the newest avionics, though they have the option of showing the more traditional gauges (or six pack, whatever you want to call it) which sets you up for success as you can become accustomed to both. Their planes are kept in tip top condition, something that cannot be said about all flight schools. Everyone at American Flyers from the people at the front desk to Cristal, the school director, are very friendly. Their part 61 program which I did for my ppl has the structure of part 141 with the flexibility of a part 61 program. Their part 141 program is structured so that you continually progress while also keep it interesting, something many 141 programs seem to lack. Again, while their prices may be higher, you can get the training done much quicker and safer, which saves you money in the long run. I appreciate their honestly and attention to all their clients and highly recommend them to anyone who wants to become a commercial pilot or wether they want to just get their private pilot’s license.

The staff of American Flyers at Hooks airport are outstanding! They treated me like family instead just another customer. They are supportive and encouraging, the prices are very reasonable and so worth it. They worked around my schedule to help me be successful. Even the DPE was personable. Andrea and Erin made me feel welcomed every time I walked in the door. Mason is an amazing wealth of aviation knowledge. My instructor, Drew, took the time to explain everything I needed. He is very observant and was able to recognize my strengths as well as offer constructive suggestions. He listened to all my questions, and had appropriate answers. Thank you all so much for helping me reach my goal!

I recently finished my instrument rating with American Flyers. I had contacted Andrea in advance and she agreed to get me on an accelerated course and I studied ahead of time to be in front of the curve. Everything went exactly as planned (does that ever happen?) and the instructors and support were great. Andrea, Mason, Gilbert, Drew, and Kevin all contributed to my success and made it seem (almost!) easy. Thanks to them all and don't hesitate to contact them if you are looking to set up a customized instruction schedule, they worked very well and delivered exactly what they promised!

American Flyers has an unmatched program that allowed me to advance at the pace I was looking for. I was always in the know about where I was in my training, what I was doing well and what I needed to improve on. The staff is always super friendly, and each instructor is incredibly knowledgeable. If you are looking for the right school, look no further.

Overall, I had an excellent experience. I moved to the Houston area in January from Boston to escape the cold and complete my flight training quicker. I was able to go from my private checkride all the way through my CFI/CFII checkrides in just under 5 months. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Shout out to my instructor, Sean, for being so supportive. The Pipers are essentially brand new and equipped with the G3X (touchscreen). Never ran into any maintenance trouble. Also, reasonably priced and the amount I ended up spending was less than the amount they quoted. Highly recommend!

I got my Instrument and Commercial ratings from American Flyers Tomball. I couldn’t be happier with the staff and instruction I received.

The Chief Pilot Mason is amazing, not only his knowledge but his ability to share that knowledge at the student’s level. After working with Mason before my check-rides I felt that the check-rides were not as intimidating or difficult.

The team of CFI’s they have put together are outstanding as well. The lead CFI’s Jordan and Samir are very natural teachers, they tend to ask questions and have you answer the question rather than just telling you what to do all the time. They are both very relational as well and I always wanted to fly with them because it was enjoyable to be in the plane with them. Jordan was my lead CFI and he was by far the best CFI I have ever had. My other CFI’s, Gilbert and Jackson, were the same, just fun to fly with and very easy to learn what they were teaching me each flight. When I was working on maneuvers, they would all push me to improve even when I was within standards and would give me real world situations that I would have to work through. Through their instruction I am a much better and safer pilot.
American Flyers at David Wayne Hooks airport was fantastic and did a great job for me. I passed my instrument and commercial written the first attempt, and successfully completed my check-ride for instrument and commercial on my first try too.
