Shawnee Forest Cabins

Clean place very close to Garden of the gods and other attractions. Loved the private hot tub set up. Hot tub was fenced in and strung with lights so great to use at night - Looked new. Nice that it has a full kitchen and Weber grill for cooking. Internet and TV all worked as advertised. Close the outpost store for ice cream, souvenirs and beverages.

I've stayed in quite a few cabins throughout the country. This was by far the smoothest process I've experienced. The location was amazing - central to so much nature. The kitchen is stocked with all the pots, pans, knives, mixing bowls, etc. that you will need, even the little things like coffee filters. That private hot tub after a day of hiking was absolutely fantastic (and huge!). I cannot wait to return, and hopefully get to stay a little longer next time!

Great little cabin right next to Garden of the Gods. Clean comfy and well stocked. Also includes bbq grill, firewood and hot tub. Booking was a breeze and management keeps in contact throughout your stay. We had no issues but I have no doubt they would have been quickly resolved. The area is absolutely beautiful but primitive. Cell service is almost non- existent except at your cabin so don't forget to stop on your way in and grab some maps. Best hikes were Garden of the Gods and Jackson Falls in our opinion but the area has many options. If you are considering a visit to Southern Illinois I definitely recommend Shawnee Forest Cabins.

The one bedroom cabin was perfect for myself, my wife, and our 8 month old. This was the first trip the three of us have taken as a family and having comfortable, clean cabin to stay in made it a great experience. We will for sure be planning another trip soon.

My best friend and I stayed in the cabin over a weekend and were in love. It is very close to hiking and a great quiet place to getaway. It was a 4 hour drive from where I live but totally worth the drive. We will be back again.

Fantastic cabin with a great hot tub. Love the fire pit and wood provided. It would have been nice to have matches, shampoo, and some basic cooking ingredients like butter, oil, ketchup, and mustard. Amazing place!

This beautiful cabin was exactly what we hoped for! This lovely cabin was easy to find and the care from staff was exceptional. It's near the Garden of the Gods but with the hot tub and fire pit, it can easily be a cozy stay-in destination.

Great little cabins in a wonderful location. Lots of awesome natural attractions nearby. Hot tub was nice, clean, and worked perfect. Cabin was equipped with all the basic kitchen supplies we needed to cook all our meals.

I'm writing this review the morning of my last day here. It was easy to book online and they kept me well informed of directions, check in procedures, and information about the area. The cabin is very cute and nice and clean. I didn't make use of the pots and pans, but I appreciate that the kitchen is stocked with those necessities. They also provided me with a sponge, dish cloth and towels. There were plenty of towels and they even had a small ironing board and iron. They followed up with me on my first day here to see if I needed anything. The location is fantastic. I came down specifically for Garden of the Gods, but you are also really close to Rim Rock and Pounds Hollow. I made use of the fire pit and love that they had firewood here onsite. I also love the indoor fireplace. Super cozy! I'm looking forward to checking out the cabins again in the Summer. Don't hesitate to book a cabin here. You won't regret it!

Very nice cabins - was perfect for the quick weekend getaway. The jacuzzi was the tipping point for booking and totally enjoyed! Lots of small towns to wander through and will be back to enjoy the trails and nature during warmer months

This was my first time staying at these cabins and it was awesome. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed, towels, dish soap, paper towels, trash bags, etc... We used the full kitchen and outside grill to cook all our meals and eat in. The surrounding area is very quiet and prefect for relaxing in the hot tub, having a bon-fire, and star gazing. The customer service was a 10/10. After checking in, they reached out to us and made sure we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend staying here.

Very clean cabin. Comfortable bed, and nice bathroom with double sink, toilet room, and roomy tub/shower. The cabin had a full kitchen, too, which was very useful during our stay. Check in and check out was easy and efficient. Will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We are delighted to stay with Shawnee Forest Cabins every fall and share so many sacred memories on their grounds. We trust that each stay is met with cleanliness and comfort. We especially appreciate it’s location, amenities, and fair price. We save much time and money preparing our own meals in their full kitchen and enjoy an nice ice cream treat at the Outpost just down the road after a day of hiking. Book your stay. It’ll be worth it.

We had the best little getaway at the Shawnee Treehouse Cabin. The location was perfect for hiking and sightseeing around the Shawnee Forest. The cabin provided everything we needed for a few days of rest and relaxation after the holidays!

This is truly a hidden gem in a beautiful territory! It was clean, quiet, private, and everything was as advertised. Professional - I loved that they send you an electronic key for keyless entry. The hot tub was an added bonus. We built a nice fire outside. I took my 75 yr old Dad there and we stayed in cabin 3 - a 2 bedroom. It is real close to the Garden of the Gods for the observation trail. There is a cute little shop with a bigfoot statue by there too that you will see on the way there. Wow, what a great time and a great experience. I am definately coming back to book the treehouse with my husband. This fantastic cabin was in just the right spot! Minutes away from the Garden of the Gods hiking. The place was super clean. Hot tub was perfect! Privacy was perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We had a great time. The cabin and jacuzzi was clean and stocked up with towels, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies. Our trip was made better by staying the night here. I highly recommend staying here to better enjoy your trip to Shawnee.

Great location in Shawnee National Forest! Winter hiking was great when followed by sitting in the hot tub at the cabin! Super clean. Used the kitchen for meals.

This is our 3rd stay at the cabins. Always super clean, cozy, and quiet. Great communication from owners. Perfect location near many hikes 5-30 minutes away. Will return again!
