This place is a Gem ! BEAUTIFUL view and comfortable and affordable accommodations! We will definitely be back . The restaurant staff were So nice and really made you feel like you were home . Thank you for a Great experience!

Great food at the lodge restaurant and the cabins are great. We loved our time there.

The place was super nice. Great views. Beds are comfy. The only issue is we had my husband's service dog with us. And they decided the hr before check out to have an issue with us. They are no allowed to ask what kind of service dog you have only what kind of task do they do. . But they asked us and I always call it one thing but you need specific terms of wording with them. So I ended up calling the ada and having to file charges against them for them asking. And being rude about the situation...

Nice little cabins with a fantastic view of the river! Cabins are quite high above the river and the view is great. Room was very clean and they accommodated a same day arrival. I really enjoyed staying here and would recommend it. It’s very quiet and out of the way and this makes the view more peaceful and enjoyable.

Home away from home. Great place to stay for the price and location. Beautiful scenery and very clean. Rustic yet homey and comfortable. Sit on the deck and watch the sun rise and enjoy the sites of the Shawnee national forest. We will return as it is a very welcoming lodge. Even caught a glimpse at an American bald eagle fly by as we watched from the deck. Loved it!

Very peaceful and nice cabins overlooking the river. Restaurant was 50 yards from cabin and delicious! Will return as I love history of southern Illinois and will bring grandkids to show them beautiful sites.

It is a wonderful place. The food at the lodge is so good. Deer came out every night. A bald eagle flew over the river while I was on the deck. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Wished they had a hair dryer and a toaster though. Been here three times and will return again with friends

Beautiful view of the Ohio River. Clean, comfortable rooms. Good amenities -- fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Bathrooms are very small, but functional. A great value. If you are looking for serenity, this is the place!

Loved the cabins, but mistakenly had the impression that they had more of a kitchen, as the word "cabin" suggested to me. What they are are hotel rooms in a duplex building. We came prepared to cook our own meals, only to find no stove, plates, utensils etc. However, the restaurant staff loaned us the items we needed and fortunately we had brought a grill with us and it all worked out. The room was comfortable, clean, the staff super friendly, the view of the river amazing, even flooded. I will be back, next time more prepared.

Second time we have came! Once a few years back with my son and this time just me and my wife for a little getaway and honestly it has been nice. We had another little one in 2016 so it may be a bit til we can come together just because he is too young but we will be back. Stayed in the last cabin which I believe is B4. Same as last time. Actually found our log from our exported edition in 2015. To add to the allure their was a lunar eclipse as dusk set in. We don’t have much time as we do have a young one now and not much family that can help but honestly I could move in. Something about the setup here as a whole that makes the allure something special.
Remember what is the difference between ordinary and extraordinary.

Now that I have sounded like the corniest fella in the house I’m gonna sign off. Small town of cave in rock makes it special all in its own right. Seriously though give it a try. U won’t regret.

Fantastic Stay in a spotless cabin. Beautiful Views and wonderful wildlife. the parks trails were well maintained and the inns restaurant was delicious. we will be back to try the Sunday Buffet and the other Cabins.

I could never tire of the view from our cabin. Clean spacious room/cabin/duplex. Great hiking nearby. Food at the restaurant was great too. Will definitely be back.

The A-Frame cabin that I stayed in has a private drive, but it is hard to find among all the other private drives. The people there know this, and someone came out to direct me.

We go here every year, hubby preaches revival at a local church. I would live here, such a quaint little town, with about 300 people, eat at Roses cafe, everything is delicious! And Rosalie is such a precious lady.

Cabin 4 A was awesome. The views from the deck are worth the stay alone. Warning! The walls are thin, you can hear almost anything that's going on in 4B!
