Very good bbq joint. Enjoy the pork and chicken. Good cream corn and turnips. Good portion sizes. White and red sauces (little spicy and thick)
Open kitchen so you see them preparing everything. Eat inside or outside. Very friendly owners.

The absolute best BBQ around. Josh, the owner, does an outstanding job and you can savor every bite. The Loaded Sweet Tater on Wednesday (pictured) and the Ribs on Friday are specials you don’t want to miss and you better get their early to get them. The cowboy burger and mac & cheese are phenomenal. Blountsville may be located in the middle of nowhere but Deep South and it’s food is worth the drive.

Some of the best bbq you can put in your mouth. Small town bbq and even if your not from that town they make you feel at home. Great people, great food!

This is a very small hidden place in Blountsville Alabama. If you're a fan of real Southern BBQ this is the place for you. They freshly BBQ everything on a real wood grill right out front of the store. The owner is very friendly and the local to the Core. He will gladly catch you up on the news around town and you can sit with the locals or you can sit on your own and enjoy a meal. Love this place and will definitely make it one of my weekly visits. And in case I didn't mention it every single dish and every piece of meat is made from scratch every single day.

This place...this place....there's magic here. I can't emphasize the aura of the owner, Josh, enough. He has a hold on this town and is loved by all. The pure goodness if this man cones out in his cooking. This man gets no sleep because he smokes his meat every single night. I had pulled pork which was some of the best I've ever had. The mac and cheese, made by Ms. Olivia, CANNOT be overlooked. But let's talk about the turnip greens: the taste is i describable. What this man does to those turnip greens should probably be prayed over in church because I believe he made a deal with the devil to get them to taste that good. I woukd go there just for them. His special that day was smoked turkey and he let me have a sample. If you like smoked turkey sandwiches, you need to come here on thursday. I was there a couple of hours and customer after customer came in ordering the smoked turkey sandwich. He has a smoker going on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. He's about to build an outdoor stage next door for live music. Let me tell you, Josh is starting something magical and I am so glad that I get to witness it. Do yourself and your family a favor, make the drive to beautiful Blountsville, and experience this little piece of small town country heaven for yourself.

As a service technician that travels the world for work... This is some of the best BBQ on the planet! The only ribs that were even close to Deep South's ribs were in San Antonio TX and double the price. The owner is very friendly and welcoming too.

Such a good restaurant and an awesome atmosphere. The food was so authentic and delicious. I hope this store grows and takes off.

Wow! I wish I could rate this restaurant 10 stars! The pulled chicken sandwich was so Smokey and paired perfectly with their house made BBQ sauce. The Mac & cheese was so good I had to take some to go! I didn’t get a chance to try the loaded sweet potato but the locals raved about it so much that I think I need to make the 3 hour trip back just to try one! The food was terrific but the customer service is what brought me to write a review. The owner Josh and sweet wife Olivia showed us what true southern hospitality really means from the very moment we walked in to their warm welcome and kind smiles. He prepared our food with a genuinely great conversation. If we lived in the area we would definitely be regulars and if we should find ourselves passing through Blountsville again (or anywhere near, really) we will have to make our way back to Deep South BBQ!

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic barbeque. We had pulled pork and chicken dinners. The pulled pork was lean flavorful and tender with just the right amount of smoky flavor.
The service was just as good as the meal. Everything was so good were going back on Friday to try the ribs.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt that they have earned/deserved it.

I was raised on old style BBQ. Something that is becoming exceedingly rarer to find these days. The pork sandwich I had took me back to the old days of my grandfather getting BBQ with me in West Tennessee. It was perfectly done. The sauce and coleslaw was a nice touch, but in my mind,
didn't even need it.

I also had a side of Turnip Greens. Turnip Greens are easy to make and you don't expect much from them. However, I would have to say these are the second best Turnip Greens I have ever had. I only say they are second because if the women folk in my life found out I like someone else Greens more than theirs, then my soul would not be long for this world.

Being s small business owner myself I know how much hard work it takes to keep a business going, and these good people have done a grand job.

I only wish I had tried their food sooner and that I passed thru more than 4-6 times a year. Keep it up and God bless y'all!

I absolutely love this place! It is the best bbq within two hours of where I love and worth the drive every time. The sides by themselves are even worth the two hour drive. Great people and I hope they continue to prosper!

You will not find better BBQ. The greens will make your grandmother jealous. Josh is a great pitmaster as well as welcoming.

We drove out of our way to give the BBQ a try on our way home to Georgia. We didn’t want to leave Alabama without some Bbq. We were not disappointed. The gumbo was delicious and made from his grandma’s own recipe. Highly recommended and worth going out of your way.

Came up from Orlando to visit family. Had to try true southern bbq. Thats just what we got at Deep South BBQ! Excellent food with southern hospitality to boot. Thankyou for treating us so well.
