R Place Tavern

Came in last night, ordered onion rings and 2 beers. My husband loved their on draft options. Our server was super attentive and came to check on us regularly. Bathroom was nice and clean. Very cute spot to unwind. They also have a beautiful set up of outdoor seating for the warmer days.

The R Place Tavern is a must-stop if you are in the Mattawa area or passing by. They have a big outdoor patio for outdoor dining and a great old fashioned dive bar inside (never skip a good dive bar). The food is top notch! You must try the French dip sandwich, and the burgers are big. They have great beers on tap, and an amazing wine selection, esiconsidering that this is right in the middle of wine country. We come for food as well as stocking up on local wines by the bottle. Don't miss this place.

We have been residents of Desert Aire for over 20 yrs. And been coming to R place before it was R place. We have watched it change and grow into a bright fun place to bring friends to. Keep up the good work

Great place to relax with a drink and some good food. An oasis in the desert that even has live music. If passing through the area would definitely recommend stopping by. Renee at the bar was amazing and made me feel like a local when I stopped in. 5 Stars R Place!

We Ord. Take-out from here 9/30/23 My husband; R Place Burger w/Fries & I ord. F. Dip w/Swiss & Fries. The Roast Beef was like I had Cooked Myself & I make sure My Meat is soo Tender it Melts n your Mouth!!! Excellent F. Fries (home made & thick cut). Everything was Excellent!!! Thk U sooo much 🙋‍♀

Fly in monthly for lunch stop. Never had a beef with this tavern.
Service is consistently great. Orders are right. Food is tasty, well cooked and filling.
Looking forward to trying the remodeled courtyard.
Even bathroom is more pleasantly decored than you'd expect walking in.
Games of some nature always on the screens.

Went there last week for a girls weekend and had such a great time! All of the bartenders workings are amazing. Will definitely be going back!

This place is a hidden little gem! I have the buffalo cauliflower, the deep fried green beans and they also offer a vegetarian burger. The rest of my party had amazing food as well. The French dip sandwich and the bacon burger were amazing

Fish and chips, chicken strips were our lunch. Both great, loved the tater tots. JR, the owner, visited with us while his manager had to dash off for a quick errand. Very pleasant experience. 👌

We just bought a place in Desert Aire and have now frequented R Place several times over the last couple of weeks! This place does a dive bar good- pull tabs, lots of beer on tap and pool table and has delicious food and a great wine selection! Highly recommend the wings and the French Dip! Huge outdoor patio which will be awesome on those hot summer nights! The staff is super friendly as well!

You will not disappointed, jades culinary skills far exceed anyone who has ever been a line cook , clearly angela is not a foodie

Stopped in tonight after being away for over a year and I am glad I did. The menu is amazing and I could tell they used quality ingredients. I had the Bleu Cheese burger. The quality of the cheese was evident in every bite. I sampled the mushroom soup and it too was rich and flavorful. If you wish Mattawa had a good bar and great food, look no further, the R place is the spot.

Unexpectedly delicious food and friendly staff hidden away in a dive bar out in the Washington desert. The back patio area was really nice too!

On a road trip to Wenatchee Washington I got lost at a detour. After driving around on dark roads for about an hour with no wifi for gps, I was getting quite anxious and upset! Then I found this little R PlaceTavern and went inside to get some help. The manager asked one of the cooks if he knew the area and that young man immediately saw how upset I was and he listened to me very carefully as I blubbered on about being lost & hungry and how I had been sharing some chips with my dog! Well, to my surprise he made me a big beautiful roast beef sandwich, got me a soda and he even added a side of beef for my dog!! He told me everything would be ok, to eat the food and wait 10 minutes for him to get off work and he would guide me to a place where I could easily find my way to my sisters. Which I did!
I don't think I've ever met such a kind, understanding and helpful young man! He would not take any money from me when I offered either, he simply said if he was in that position he hoped someone would be there to help him out. They are very lucky to have him working for them and I think he deserves a big raise!! I am so very grateful to him.

Junior has done a remarkable job of getting this place up and running. Quality food (given the smallest of kitchens), great service and a very fun atmosphere including great outside seating and occasional live music. If you live in Desert Aire and haven't stopped by here, you're doing it wrong.

Delicious burger! Good and friendly service. The outdoor eating area was warm and inviting. So glad we have such a quality place to grab a nice lunch ir dinner in our community.

Best French Dip you'll ever eat. Everything on the menu is great! If you're driving down 243, you have to stop (even if it's to go).
