We stayed at Balsam Cove for 3 months this Summer. We thoroughly enjoyed the campground while we were there. We had site 90, and I personally believe it's the best site there. Thanks to the trees there's plenty of privacy, and the park was quiet during the week. The events they had were a lot of fun, and the kids that were there truly enjoy the campground as well.

We camped in a tent at one of the sites! They keep the bath house and bathroom unit very clean, it’s an awesome space to use. It’s quiet and full of families and kids! We stayed there to go to Acadia, but it was a good central location, close to a grocery store and other food places. The staff was super friendly and treated us with respect!

This is a really nice campground that is well kept and has a very friendly staff and clientele. We’ve enjoyed visiting family here several times. The food at the outdoor cafe is really good and affordable. We look forward to out next visit!

We have been campers since I was a teen and stayed here for summers at a time. Since growing and having my own family, we have been coming back for 13 years. and are now a seasonal camper.

Great campground. We really enjoyed our stay there. Large wooded sites. Friendly people. And meals at pavilion on weekends is great.

This campground impressed us with its clean cabin, clean restrooms, friendly staff and sense of community. Even though we only stayed three nights, everyone welcomed us and the staff were flexible and accommodating. (We checked in late, ran out of firewood, left a towel behind, etc. And there was a solution for everything). We normally prefer more secluded camping, but Balsam Cove was quiet at night and upbeat during the day and we really enjoyed our stay.

How do I put into words the fun time I had her back in 2017? It's not easy, but I'll try. It was a weekend trip with my mom, my sister and my nephew, and my aunt and uncle were there too at a nearby campsite. The gentle yodeling of the loons was some of the most relaxing music I ever fell asleep to, and the next day my uncle cooked Puerto Rican chicken for dinner at his campsite.

Saturday evening saw the hayride around the campground, and then came the time for the bonfire. Appropriately enough, "Girl On Fire" by Alicia Keys was playing as Justin lit the bonfire. Then somebody turned around and had "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry, and the dancing feet took over. I did get to talk to Justin later on and say "Thank you so much for a dynamite camping experience", and I was majorly bumming when we had to leave on Sunday morning.

Even better was the weeklong trip we made in July of 2023. Let me tell you, July 4th week at the campground is fun. We kicked off our week with a hayride and a bofnire on Saturday night, and once again, "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry saw the dancing feet take over. Fireworks on the 4th, and live music on Friday night. I said to my mom, "We are coming back here next year, you are not allowed to say no." May I have the good fortune to return again next year for another fun week.

Found this little gem searching online. Just hubby, myself and Bella our dog.
While there checked out 5 other campgrounds around and found this still our first time favorite. New to travel trailer camping, 20' Was happy with our waterfront site and hope to go back next year with grand kids as looks like great family place. Wish wifi was better to watch our Dish App tv on computer at night, too much lag siiigh.

What a great little campground, more than what I expected. Bathrooms & showers are amazing, clean and well maintained. Dog park provided fresh water for dogs a poop bags (in case you forgot yours) I love when campgrounds are animal friendly. Staff was courteous and helpful, store provided ice, wood and all the essentials. They even have boat rentals for a very reasonable fee. The area we stayed in needed a few more trees and was a little sparse on privacy but the other side of the campground looked great and next time we go we will request a site in that area. Beach was clean and lots of activities for kids. I will definitely be suggesting this place to all my friends and family and will definitely stay there again in the future.

My husband and I stayed there for two months and were here through seasons end Sep 28th. Paid $4500 to stay there. Had to leave Sep 28. Went back to visit our friend and his dog who are still staying there. Owners called the Hancock County Sheriff Dept on us because we visited unannounced. After my husband washed the owners nasty dirty camper, was dirtiest camper in the whole campground, then delivered home baked lasagna to them..... REALLY.....DO NOT STAY HERE...CROOKS

Update Aug 2019: Just finished another amazing Vacation with Justin and his crew. I don't understand how some of these reviews say that his crew is useless. Steve and Tom helped us feel at home and took really great care of us. Justin has always been a professional and made our stay a exceptional one. The Wifi has been much better this year but.....why go camping for Wifi when the best show is on Toddy pond with the Loons. Looking forward to next year already.

Awesome campground and the most lovable people who run the place. Justin and his crew made our 1st time RV experience amazing. They were super helpful and very personable. We loved our stay so much we rebooked for next year. The regulars were so nice and helpful as well. Side note: Rent the pontoon boat for the day it will not disappoint. We can't wait for next year.

Thoroughly enjoy our stay at Balsam Cove Campground. There was plenty for the kids to do during the day between swimming, the playground, and exploring the campgrounds. The facilities were very clean and the staff friendly. Also a magnificent Saturday night bonfire topped off our wonderful camping experience.

My absolute favorite campground. Beautiful place, lots of stuff for the kids to do. We have driven here from Michigan two years in a row. Of all the places we have ever been, our young kiddos beg to go back every year. Owners are wonderful. Cannot speak highly enough about this place!

My husband and I have been coming here for years it's a great family campground and we absolutely love it here . We like staying on the sites near the water but it looks like most of the waterfront sites are becoming seasonals. So unfortunately we may have to look for another place😢. It's very difficult to get the sites we want now!!

Hidden gem that exists outside from acadia National Park.

Get a wooded site if your tent camping. More shade and privacy. Helps when it rains too.
