The Side Door Saloon

We ate here around 6 o'clock on a Saturday night. No waiting to get a table even though they were very busy. Our waitress was very quick and attentive. We had the Buffalo chicken appetizer which was spectacular. I ordered A Chicken Ruski sandwich, it was spectacular great flavor. My boyfriend had the Big Daddy burger, also spectacular. We will diffinatly eat here again. The new owner visited each table and was very nice. I had 2 high noon beverages my boyfriend had a large beer we had an appetizer and 2 sandwiches total of $53. Very good portions for value.

We just went back after several years, and I was happy to see they haven't changed. Good food and service and a very reasonable price. One thing to note is that they still do not have a deep fryer, so that generally leads to more healthy meal choices. I had the grilled chicken club sandwich and it was excellent

Had Prime Rib this time. Amazing!! As good or better than any I've had in the area. Asked for the end cut so I could enjoy more of the rub they apply. It was ordered medium rare (a very difficult ask for an end slice) and it came out perfect. Shows they do a very slow roasting. The way it should be done.
Also, the new bread accompaniment is a great improvement.

Great place! They make an awesome old fashion (if you're a fan like me), their foods great (I got a whitefish quesadilla that I inhaled without photographing), and the service was good! They also have a cute patio if you want to be outside and they are close to town, next door to puttputt and down the street from the State Park... what's not to like?

Food was excellent, service was friendly, attentive and quick, and the atmosphere very fun. If you like Mint Ice Cream or Oreos, or both, you gotta try the Mint Oreo Ice Cream, pie. Hard to go wrong at the Side Door Saloon when in Petoskey!! 5/5

The Side Door Saloon ... yes, it's a saloon type atmosphere! Beautiful long bar and cozy seating. TVs for sports enthusiasts. But the food is far better than saloon quality! The mushrooms olive burger is the best burger in town. "How do you want it?" Medium rare comes exactly medium rare. Tasty, juicy, and delicious. Plan to return again, and again ...

If you are not from the area you wouldn't know about this hidden gem! I was too excited about our meals that I forgot to take photos! I did manage to grab one of the appetizer though! I don't even like prime rib, but the prime rib is to die for! I love the Shang hi tuna just as much! Wait staff are super friendly. Food came out fast. We stop and eat here every time we are in town! Definitely don't pass up the opportunity to eat here if you are close by!

Come for the atmosphere, stay for the awesome, flavorful, tender, best prime rib. Strongly recommend this place for dinner. The server was friendly and great at her job.

The atmosphere here is campy and woodsy. It is also loud. It doesn't take much to make a loud murmur. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, because I enjoyed myself a lot. I had read that they were consistently voted in top 5 for Northwest Michigan.

I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. It was cooked PERFECTLY! It was an excellent piece of beef! The bacon was excellent and bbq sauce was tasty. The bun was tasty, but not overpowering. The only thing is the burger looked small. Somehow it was deceiving and very filling. The person I was with had the regular burger and agreed on all points.

The service was friendly and competent.

Overall 5 stars. Would I return? Yes Yes Yes Yes, hmmmm Yes! Lastly the don't serve anything Deep Fried, so NO fries or onion rings. Just chips.

Their food and drinks are delicious. We love eating here. We have never had bad food. The service is great and atmosphere is nice.

The service is friendly and fast. The food was excellent. We had the prime rib dinners. The meat was done to perfection, grilled veggies and baked potato were excellent. Started out the meal with Pepperjack Crab Soup. There was a choice of soups or salads. The meal included dessert which we took to go because we were full. There was a lovely choice of desserts as well. Very clean.

My first time there in over 46 years. (Because I lived in Florida). I went with my aunt and her husband. They had come up for a week. The food was great. Well, except for the huge slice of onion for my burger. Now I know to tell them to slice thin. Had a great time there and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Friendly faces are what you'll find here, a great local favorite. Delicious food with fun spins on classic favorites.

We are not from here but the food sounded good upon looking it up. This place was fantastic!! Every single peice of food was fantastic! The waitress was very pleasant and gave great recommendations! The service was lighting fast to top it off! I will definitely be returning here every time I go to Petoskey!

The pepperjack crab chowder is excellent, as with the salmon dinner. Servers all were busy and were able to keep our drinks cold and food on time

I will start with my rating system. It is simple. I'll be a regular or I won't. This is in the category of I'll be a regular. In the casual dining category this restaurant is top notch. Great food at a very reasonable price. They are incredibly quick with food preparation even when it is busy. The staff is always very good. The place is popular for exactly the reasons I gave.

The crab soup was 5 star.
My wife and I got shrimp and chicken jambalaya and we both loved it. Great waitress that suggested these dishes and we will definitely come back next time we’re in petoskey.

Went shopping in Petoskey with friends and decided to stop for a late lunch. Sooo glad we did! I ordered a Southwest Turkey Wrap with guacamole. My friends had the Raspberry Chutney Wrap and a BLT Salad. Food was very good. Service was great! Even the iced tea was so very good.

Great food great service. Havent been here in many many years, but will be back soon. Whitefish was done well. All our entrees were yummy. Fresh bread basket too. Good beer choices.
