Made an impulsive stop here on the way back to Minneapolis from Duluth. Saw the billboard and took the exit. Was not disappointed. Super cute restaurant with an attached gift shop. Pretty view of the lake across the interstate too!

I had 3 eggs scrambled, sausage links, and pancakes. The eggs and sausage are what you would expect. The pancakes were velvety delicious with an incredible flavor. Probably some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had!

Alison was a wonderful waitress. Cute place, and lots of stuff to look at. We'll definitely be back.

We came here after a camping trip and enjoyed some breakfast. We got the Gardener's Omelette, Country Fried Steak, and Hash Brown Scramble. The portion sizes are large and the food is fantastic! It's nice, too, that vegetables are integrated into meals since that's not always the case at small diners.

Service was wonderful and staff were delightful. We had a 1-year-old with us and the gift shop was a good distraction for her. Overall, an easy 5 stars (especially after camping)!

Had an omelette with wild rice and it was so delicious!! Perfect MN meal. Very good french toast as well. Very nice staff and cute gift shop. Didn't get a chance to try the pie but it looked yummy! Will definitely be stopping again.

The billboards of stacked pancakes have always made me hungry. I'm glad I stopped today. I had the wild rice pecan apple pancake. Great texture and flavor. You can tell it is homemade from scratch. The staff is very friendly and a pleasure to work with. I recommend stopping. Their veggie lovers omelette sounded great too.

Stopped in for lunch on the way back from a North Shore vacation and it was the best meal we had all week! You can tell a lot about a place from their basic garden salad, and it was awesome! The mushroom, swiss, wild rice omelett was outstanding, as were the buttermilk pancakes and hancut fries! I had a slice of their homeade strawberry rubarb pie and it was also crazy good!! The service was equally as good as the food and they even have a cute giftshop to browse! Can't wait to come back!!

Stopped by on the way back to Minneapolis for a quick lunch. Great service with friendly and kind staff! We were there on a winter weekday and it was busy! Great food with a nice cafe ambiance. Free wifi available to guests. Satiating and tasty food! Kiddo rated the cheeseburger as 4 stars... The meat was a little dry in his opinion. Garden omelette was good with a great egg to veggie ratio. The jam with toast was great!

This place gets a 10/10 for me. 100% worth a short detour off 35 if you’re going up to Duluth or coming back and want some great homemade food. The Northwoods omelet and eggs Benedict (on homemade English muffin) were both incredible. The hollandaise sauce was so good on both of them. Definitely get the cinnamon French toast as your side for the omelet and/or the special hash they make. They also brew their own coffee here.

They also sell cranberry wild rice bread and buns and have a little gift shop with MN goods.

Will definitely be making this a regular stop on the way to the north shore.

Excellent food, service and gift shop. I always end up taking home a loaf of their cranberry wild rice bread. It's a lot better than it sounds. 😋 Homemade Carmel rolls are fantastic.

Wow! Glad I drove the couple miles off of I-35! Homemade caramel roll was amazing. Fresh made bread for my Ham BLT and the best restaurant mashed potatoes I've ever had! We need more of this restaurant everywhere! Top notch service & food!

Sheila was absolutely amazing. All of my family of 5 loved their food 🥘. I need to try their burger and ice cream next time. I loved their blueberry pancakes 🥞. Wild rice is such a comfort food

On this trip to the great white north we decided on a sit down lunch. The bowl of soup was very filling. On the return trip we went for a cup of soup and a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie. We will be back.

Amazing breakfast! Our server kept our coffees filled and even offered us more to go! The bacon is to die for, and the kalevala hash is INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend. Cute gift shop too!

Fantastic lunch well worth the slight distance off the interstate. I had the flakiest, most delicious croissant ever filled with chicken salad. I wish I had a photo!

My husband and I stopped on the way through town with our 3 kids. The food was fantastic! Try The Bigfoot burger. ;) Our waitress was very attentive and friendly! Dessert was excellent! Epic pie malts! Would definitely stop here again!
They make so much (including their hamburger Buns) in-house. Definitely worth the detour we took from the interstate!!

A true gem of small town America. In just one visit, I heard two other groups exclaim how good the food was and I agree whole-heartedly. Everything made-from-scratch, home-cooked goodness!

So good we ate there twice in two days!! Amazing service, food was delicious, and we enjoyed the "Up North" atmosphere. Looking forward to returning on our next trip up to Duluth.
