El Mariachi

El mariachi more than that my expectations. It was the closest Mexican restaurant to the hotel we were staying at. That is why we initially chose here. Ecstatic that we ended up here. Not a lot of parking, not sure if there was more on the other side of the building. Huge outdoor dining area that would be useful in spring and summer. From the second I walked in, I loved the charm of the restaurant. They were way understaffed, the host who is also the bartender and waiter warned us ahead of time. He told us if we stayed we might have to wait for our food. That never happened. He was right on top of everything . He was visibly stressed, but did a fantastic job. I loved all the decor. Every table top and chair had a different theme. It depicted what life was like in Mexico in the past.

More importantly, the food was delicious. They start out by bringing homemade chips and salsa. I ordered the skirt steak tacos. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly, very tender. I thought I was in a steak house while I was eating it. My fiancé got a combination of chimichangas, tostada, and chicken enchiladas. She gave me one of the chicken enchiladas and one of the chimichangas. Both were amazing. Both plates also came with rice, refried beans, and guacamole. The rice was good, guacamole was even better. I’m not a fan of refried beans so I didn’t taste any. According to my fiancé, they were very good. For dessert, we had fried ice cream. It was made right in front of us. It was pretty much a hibachi show with ice cream and liquor involved. I had a video to attach, but apparently it’s too big to upload. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend this to anybody visiting or living in the area. Authentic Mexican cuisine done right.

Great food - delicious steak tacos. Kids had a taco salad, it was good. Gluten free knowledgeable. Margarita was okay, not great. The tacos were quite good - everyone wanted some of mine!

Excellent place. Bartender is awesome. Apps were on point. Meal was great. Molè enchiladas were outstanding. Highly recommended.

Best Mexican food I have ever tasted! Do not go near this area if NH without stopping! Staff was great, atmosphere was perfect. Will definitely be coming back!

Amazing food and friendly service. My family of 6 was very happy with all our meals. The vegetables were so fresh and abundant. They were able to easily cater meals to any dietary needs. Overall great experience. I will definitely be visiting here often.

We found this place by accident 5 years ago on our way back from Maine. We've been trying to find out again every time we've been in the area.

The food is amazing. The guacamole is fresh and the prices are very reasonable.

Excellent Mexican food and a really neat restaurant. The art is everywhere in this place. Jose did a great job and even made us some fresh salsa as the standard doesn't have much bite.

Top notch though they were short staffed on Labor Day weekend. That said, if you are a patient person you will find the food is authentic and amazing. If you are not such a person, they sell margaritas by the pitcher. I would not hesitate to go here!

The most vegetables I have seen in a Mexican restaurant! I ordered the taco salad and it came packed with veggies including summer squash, zucchini, and broccoli. Also, without asking, no cheese! This was definitely not your standard Mexican beans, rice, and cheese restaurant.

Everyone meals looked just as wonderful and were generous in portion size. We were all pleased. A definite 5-star experience.

Stopped in for lunch and the food was really good! I was surprised at the dishes available on the menu that are not typically found up here. The inside was very colorful and the server was prompt and polite. We got mole enchiladas and chile relleño, they were both excellent.

We stopped here for lunch before heading home from vacation. It was clear that the guy in there was waiting on all the tables, answering the phones, and seating guests by himself and he still somehow managed to be friendly and efficient. The food was very, very good. Every one from the our 1 year old to our 6 year old to my husband and I, all cleared our plates. Highly recommend this place!

Was very happy to discover this wonderful Mexican-run Mexican restaurant in the heart of the NH lakes district. Conveniently located on Route 25 in Moultonborough just near turn off towards Wolfboro and Castle in the Clouds - it couldn't be more convenient or adorable inside and out.The decor inside was very heart warming - brilliant painted/carved chairs from Mexico are the dominant decor, and the waitstaff is super friendly and accommodating. The outdoor tables looked welcoming as well. Food-wise, we had very nice combo platters which were fresh and very tasty.

We had a bday party with 23 attendees. It was the BEST FOOD and BEST service I have ever had. This company will do anything to make you happy! Love them!

El Mariachi is my go to when I'm in town. I love the service and food there.

I could cry. I have never had rice this good except from my friend's grandmother, and frankly even then it's close. The service is also so friendly, and my tamales were just perfect.

This place is adorable. Staff is super friendly, the food is delicious, and it's even cute inside. It's inside an old lodge building, Fantastic lunch, hope to return.

Authentic, beautifully decorated, lots of outdoor seating, generous and tasty portions.

Best Mexican in the area. Order the fried ice cream, trust me. It’s prepared at the table and is delicious.
