Very well done, really says a lot about the community for erecting this 911 Memorial.
Very cool American - eagle sculpture clutching a piece of one the fallen towers.
A time line of all the events of that dreadful morning.
You can see Sandy Hook across the bay, further out the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and One World Trade Center on a clear day.
Very somber place and very worth the visit.

We visited this small but important local park two days before the 22nd anniversary of the infamous attack on the twin towers. A dignified memorial is in the park as a tribute to over 140 local people that died that morning in those towers on 09/11/2001. On a clear day you can see the lower Manhattan skyline from the park.

Nice park, highest point on the eastern seabord, great views of New York! The park is small and I parked right away. The views of New York get better the further you go with the best views being past the 9/11 memorial. There were people walking their dogs, some great benches... on a nice day it would be perfect to sit in such a calm and relaxing place and overlook the hustle and bustle of New York city in the distance.

The Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook has a truly spectacular view of Sandy Hook, Raritan Bay and the New York skyline. There are coin operated viewers to get a closer look. You can also sit and relax on the benches and watch the passing ships. This 12-acre site is also a Memorial dedicated to the 147 men and women of Monmouth County who lost their lives on Sept. 11th. The path leading to the memorial is a timeline of the events of Sept. 11th. The eagle is holding a beam from the World Trade Center. Fun Fact: There is also a playground for the little ones.

Nicely landscaped park with a memorial dedicated to 911 victims from NJ. There are sweeping views of Long Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Sandy Hook. There are trees providing shade, and sea breeze keep the park cooler than surrounding areas.

Beautiful view of the bay, Atlantic, New York City, Long Island, and the surrounding areas. It’s a free neat little park with a 9/11 memorial to those from Monmouth County that passed in the attacks 19 years ago. It’s very much worth a visit if in the area, and I’m very glad that I did. Interpretive signs are everywhere, as well as the view finders that accept quarters. The queue to enter wasn’t long, as people will cycle in and out fairly quickly. Very nice little park, cheers.

Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook, Atlantic Highlands, N.J.

Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook in Atlantic Highlands is a small park with a 9/11 Memorial that tastefully honors the 147 Monmouth County residents who have fallen on that faithful day 9-11-2001. Personally, I love that you can sit and reflect, or it can be used as an awesome teaching moment for parents & teachers. You will be amazed by how well put together & how tastefully done this tribute is. There is even a piece of the World Trade Center attached to the Eagle's talons! The base of the monument list the towns of Monmouth County and the names of the fallen residents. There is a 9/11 Memorial Timeline representing the 3 hour time span of that tragic day, as well as many other amazing design elements.

This park is beautiful & a must see! During the warmer months, you can bring a lunch with you and enjoy the stunning views. At 266', it’s the highest natural point on the Atlantic Seaboard, from Maine to Mexico. The views of the Sandy Hook Bay & New York skyline are amazing. Some of the best views of the Atlantic Ocean! Check out some of the views from my pictures. Bring your own binoculars or for .25 cents use the built in binoculars for a closer view. If stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean weren’t enough, there is a small playground, plenty of seating, and portable restrooms. There are also 3 informational boards telling you all about: the Raritan Bay & New York Harbor, the View from Mount Mitchill, and the Longshore Sediment Movement

Pros: Everything mentioned above +++ Excellent tribute to the fallen of 9/11.
Cons: Small parking area that could fill up quickly on a beautiful day.

** Keep in mind I took my pictures in January 2021 & the views are still amazing. Now imagine them during the other months!

Amazing view point of NYC. A remarkable memorial statue is on site, in honor of the 9-11 holy victims that were murdered by al Qaeda members. It is very much hurting to look at the New York skyline and not seeing the Twin Towers towering the other buildings.

Not a huge park for walking, but a small memorial specific to 9/11. This place is peaceful with ample parking. You can see NYC and Sandy Hook from Mount Mitchill lookout.

Beautiful spot to over look the Hudson and the NYC skyline. Try to get there early in the day or later to get rid of the humid haze

A beautiful green splace with views for miles. A lookout point with thoughtful memorials to our countries fallen. It's a quite place to allow your mind to ponder the past, or to quietly meditate and center or a great place to allow your mind and spirit to wonder into the future.
A delightful place for couples to snuggle and an awesome teaching moment for parents & teachers
