Grand Coulee Tour Center

The tour had great insight that we wouldn’t have otherwise had and provided a great view from the top of the dam

It's not been too terribly busy lately, but can get that way. Be patient when they start running the tours every hour, on the hour. Staff(security included) seem to be quite professional & friendly despite their challenges.

Nice visitor center. The displays could use more details.

The tour is about an hour long, basically they show the pumps and the view from the top of the dam. Due to the Oklahoma bombing and 9/11 security has been stepped a lot and little is shown. The last tour starts at 330pm. You must be here at 330pm and not at the Visitor Center across the river, it can be confusing. If you are at the Visitor Center, the drive to the Tour Center across the river is about 10 min, you must go downhill, then over the bridge, go uphill and past the steep speed bump/barrier and go through all the airport-type security check/talk. The guides are nice. Don’t be like me, I was late 4 minutes but made it to the Visitor Center -wrong-, I had to wait to the next day 930am to do the tour.
