Colville Tribal Museum & Gift Shop

Very interesting exhibits in the museum about the history and the lifes of Indians. Good displays of tools, houses, tents and how they came to embrace farming. There is even a husband bench overlooking the Coulee Dam.

Artisan market today, where I found some beautiful handmade treasures and gifts.

Such a rich assortment of tribal history and goods.

History from the Indian point of view! This is a really excellent smaller museum, run by the Colville Tribe and dedicated to their history. The exhibits are wonderful--well-designed, visually appealing and with thoughtful text. There are some stunning tribal cultural objects there--bead work, canoes, cradle boards and so much more. Maggie at the front desk was very friendly. Well worth a couple of hours. Check in advance to make sure they are open, particularly during the non-summer months.
