Chenango County Probation Department

I was on probation here a couple years ago and they went through I think five different probation officers with me and The did a little bit longer than I should have because it didn’t fail any drug tests or anything but I eventually did get out six months early which I appreciated. I understand staff changes and things like that and that each new probation officer had to get to know me longer. Otherwise they are not the worst place in the world that you could get probation at. They allowed me to go to San Diego and go see my father in Denver and I appreciated what they did for me

It is a nice clean office and is nicer than the old probation office. I was on probation for 3 years and I did really well and so they rewarded me really well. I was able to go to San Diego see a boyfriend.they even let me off probation so that I could move out of state and be with him but unfortunately that didn't happen but they did take my life circumstances into consideration when it was time to decide whether to let me go a little early or keep me on it. I think I was on it a little longer than I wanted to be because they went through five probation officers in my situation and so they really just didn't know anything about me and I'd have to gain their trust all over again which I can understand switching once or twice but 5 times isn't fair to somebody. You have to start all over again gaining trust and being a model probationer. But they did let me off I think 6 months early so I was happy about that and I was always treated with respect and not like a criminal.

They don't pick up calls on weekdays. Terrible.
