Saxony Steak Room & Lounge

This place is amazing. Hesitate to get the word out of it will get too busy. Easily the best place around likely in the state. Being a chef myself I can appreciate the scratch nature of the executive chef’s dishes. Never having eaten there and have cooked probably 100,000 steaks I opted for fish and shrimp. His preparation of the dish was spot on. I grew up cooking fresh shrimp on the coast and either someone growing up the same or someone veryyyy well trained would know how to grill shrimp like that. So we got to talking and his résumé is rather extensive and it shows. I can’t get back there soon enough. My hat is off to them! Keep up the excellent work and I will see you soon! His version of an Alfredo was close to how we do it, you will not be disappointed there either. All in all the best money spent for a meal short of making a long drive or flight. Our server was excellent warm inviting and full of wonderful suggestions.

Nestled Inside one of Hobbs oldest hotels, Hobbs Family Inn. We ate here on July 20 for my mans birthday. Steaks, moist, juicy, chok full of flavor! Best in town! The chefs are front and center getting down. Sharon always keeps the drinks flowing and salads fresh! All staff is amazing here! You can visit the Derek Lounge right through the next door.

Place is a diamond in the the rough. Amazing steak. Great place for date night. Band had us dancing for hours

The Saxony Ribeye is very very good.. awesome flavor... it melts in your mouth.. best steak I've had in a long time... I've had steak at many places but this is in my top 3..

Mich better than i thought, service was great, waitress was funny, steak was amazing, the staff was nice and let us actually talk to them. I have to say everyone was great. I don't have one thing bad to say. Don't be shocked by the location asI was when I areived the first time. Just go inside and have a friendly seat.

What a place! Awesome Steak.. had the Saxony 12oz ribeye.. had the grill people grill me up some green chili..as seen it was fabulous and tasty. I'm sure a lot of locals known this place. Searched on the web for "Best Steaks in Hobbs NM"..Saxony popped up number one.. I see why..Owners please don't change anything! Atompshere is laid back.. went early before 1800..then it started to get busy!. On their web site it's states reservations recommend.. was single so if you go early you may beat the crowd.. price very reasonable. Will highly recommend the Saxony to all who ask about a good place for a steak. Service was AWESOME! Friendly and knowledge waitress..its worth the Time and Money!!

Great food, fresh and flavorful. Saxony Ribeye alone worth the trip.

6 of us ate here and every steak was perfect. Waitress was a little unavailable sometimes.

Was working in Hobbs and found this place accidentally searching for a steak. Honestly when we pulled up to park we were VERY skeptical but the reviews were really good. So I must say the restaurant itself is actually very cozy and nice BUT the FOOD was GREAT. I've traveled and worked on and off for 10 years and never knew of it but wish I had.

Steaks made right!
I haven’t found such consistently good steaks anywhere else in the Permian Basin except for Midland-Odessa. Steaks are aged, cooked to perfection and with great tasting sauce. On top of that, great pricing, nice waiting staff, and a good crowd. All of which is difficult to find out here as well. Highly recommended and will recommend dressing appropriate.

Absolutely phenomenal! Best steak I've ever had, cut like butter it was so tender and juicy. The asparagus was cooked to perfection not all stringy like you get most asparagus. There was nothing left on that plate when I was done. Great atmosphere it's a little confusing from the outside since since it's tucked into the hotel but don't let that stop you. I will make it my goal to come back to this place if I pass through here again!

This is the best steak house in town hands down! It is a very nice place and the food is excellent! Always a five star meal when we go. My family loves it so much we go almost every weekend. The chefs really know what they are doing and always make sure you are completely satisfied. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE!

Excellent place for our anniversary dinner! Everyone was very friendly. The drinks, appetizers, salads, and our main dishes were delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a yummy chocolate cake for our anniversary dessert! Thank you! We will be back.

Yes!!! Service was good, FOOD WAS ON POINT ! GREAT ATMOSPHERE. WILL BE BACK ! We were skeptical when we drove up and walked in. Then she took us through the doors and what a cozy place . We have dined in many top end steakhouses and this food will hold up to them at a FRACTION of the cost! Best dang baked potato I have had in forever. So glad we found this hidden treasure we will be back even if it is two hours AWAY!

This place has been in business for roughly 60 years in a hotel off a highway in Hobbs, and once you've been there, you'll understand why. The steaks are on par with those found in steak/chophouses in major cities. Quality cuts of thick beef, grilled expertly. No extraneous seasoning or sauces; the steak is the star. Standard sides, low lighting, tiny room. If you find yourself in Hobbs, stop by for dinner.

I have eaten here several times. My steak (the PorterHouse) has always been cooked medium rare and perfect! The atmosphere is calm and proper. It is tucked away in hotel say you may not know its there. If you want the best steak in Hobbs this is definitely the place to go.

Loved this place! It is extremely nice! Definitely great for a date (Romantic). The server Brittany was great! Krystal the bartender was also great! And the food met expectations! Will definitely return and highly recommend! :)
